Hulk Hogan is still dealing with his son, Nick's, jail sentence for reckless driving.

"You know, I just had to regroup, and you know, just really rely on what was in my heart and what I believe in, 'cause Nick is my son 24 hours a day," Hulk told E! Friday. "Whether he hits a home run, or whether he strikes out, he's still my son."

The wrestler says his estranged wife had a different attitude.

"You know, Linda says because she was visiting in L.A., she's not responsible in any way, shape or form what what happened," he said. "Well, that's not me."

Hulk says Nick has changed his life since getting out of jail Oct. 20.

"He was on a roll," he said. "He was a young professional driver. He had the show going, and it all got real busy, and then when he went to jail, he got stripped of everything.

"He got stripped of clothes, of watches, he got stripped of his identity, and he found out what's important in life," Hulk added. "He knows what's real, and what's not real.

"And before he went in there, he was accountable, and he was responsible. And I think that's what he found out in jail, the most important thing. He understands what is real life. You know, it's about helping people, being positive, moving forward.

"He was a good kid before, he's a great kid now," Hulk says. "He's not the same man he was when he went in there."

Nick served 166 days of an eight month sentence. In May, he pled no contest to reckless driving charges stemming from an August 2007 crash that left his best friend, John Graziano, in critical condition.

The day of his release, his sister, Brooke, blogged how excited she was to see her brother again.

"I'm gonna make him every kind of food you can possibly think of!" she said. "He's been living on bread and potatoes so far, and I know some Mac-n-Cheese is gonna hit the spot!"

If you happen to buy beer for your son and they happen to go out and kill somebody, be sure you make it clear that it isn't their fault. That's the most important thing you can do as a dad.

When did he say it wasn't his son's fault?

My parents never bought me beer and I'm not trying to give anyone a pass here - but I CAN say that I was very lucky as a younger man that something like this didn't happen to me.

In high school and college, I definitely pushed the envelope and took some unnecessary risks.

Looking back on it now - I probably had someone looking over me on more than one occasion.

He said it wasn't his fault to him directly over the prison telephone. It was being recorded, OOPS.

Just glad the kid had to stay in..I get sick of these parents who bail their children out whether from jail or finances or whatever. If people can't make mistakes how are they supposed to learn from them. I've told my kids if I get a call from jail about them getting in trouble from something they've done, they better get awfully comfy there, because dad isn't coming to bail them out. :)

What are the specific details of what happend anyway? I don't pay attn to celebrity BS that much, esp Nick Hogan. I assume he was illegally street racing and wrecked his Supra? His friend ok now?

Sure-Oz I believe he was driving at excessive speeds with another fella in his car. It wrecked and the passenger's brains are scrambled eggs for the rest of his life. What makes Nick a P.O.S. were the conversations between he and Hulk from the jailhouse where he didn't seem to be too worried about the passenger and was more concerned about making a reality show when he got outta jail about how he rehabilitated himself after prison.

The thing is, they both were drunk or whatever. The other guy is at fault as much as Nick. I know there were a few times where i refused a ride due to someone i know being drunk. I was like, I rather walk or call a Cab. Even at his age. I did ALOT of reeruned things to put myself in danger, but driving with a drunk was not 1 of them. That shit always turns out bad.

While it sucks that it happened, lets not kid ourselves they were both at fault. If it wasnt Nick that was driving, the other guy would have.

Not to say that you are wrong and I definitely don't follow this close enough but didn't they say that he wasn't drunk? It was a case of driving too fast rather than driving drunk I though which doesn't make it better just different.

I can tell you this coming from somebody whose dad had to worry all the time about my decisions that you cannot blame the father for backing up his son. He thought what he told him over the phone in jail was private and you build your kid up in a situation like that not tear him down further. If Hulk would've come out and said those things publicly it would have been one thing but to say them to only your son when you don't think it will hit the press is another thing entirely. There are definitely things I say to my niece that I would never say to others in public...

Good lord. There needs to be more backlash over this shit than there was over the Dog the Bounty Hunter brouhaha.

They are both at fault and Nick should be in jail, but you shouldnt get into a car a race car when someone is drinking. It worked for me i know that. I never got into a car with a drunk. I rather walk.

I've said this before ad nauseum, as it's my personal philosophy--

it comes down to personal responsibility. you **** up, you pay the piper. look, we're all human beings (thanks, chris crocker)... we all make mistakes. some bigger than others. but, the only way you really get further in life is to own your mistakes like you own your successes.

and in nick's case, that's a hard pill to swallow. but, first, shouldn't have been drinking/driving. and beyond that bad decision, he was out RACING with a friend, an accident happened, and now his friend is basically a vegetable for life. if he was really a friend, you don't worry about your ****ing future after jail. you thank your lucky goddamned stars that it wasn't you and do everything you can to make it up to that family. even in private conversations, you don't demonize your supposed friend, regardless of his negative flaws.

how about this, nick--OWN YOUR MISTAKE. don't blame your friend--
