The pride of Maple Woods Community College. Seriously, do you think he is the most famous person to ever attend that school? Has to be right?

As long as the Cards keep doing what they've done the past couple years I don't care how many more personal trophies the guy adds to his trophy case.

Make sure your "couple of years" doesn't expand out to three. I wouldn't want you to have to think about one of those pesky World Series things.

99.... 100.... 101....

Demonpenz 11-17-2008 01:32 PM

Pujols delivered that fatal kill to lidge, but give credit to lidge he came back and now will have a ring too.

I was unaware that you won the World Series three years ago. Maybe you should mention that in more of our posts. The past couple seasons the teams have went in completely opposite directions. FTR are the Cards going to be in a rebuilding season this year or is this going to be the year they win it all again? I keep hearing about how bright the future looks for next year but I don't really see anything except a team with pitching similar to the little league world series champs.

That shot will live in my memory. Crowd going absolutely nuts and Albert launches a moon shot, if not indoors that ball still might be going, and then absolute silence it was amazing.

Interesting story ... On the way back to St. Louis to play the game 6 Brad Ausmus Houston's Catcher that caught for Lidge when he gave up the home run had the pilot to announce after takeoff:

“We've reached our cruising altitude of 35,000 feet. I’ve turned off the fasten seatbelt sign and turned off the cabin lights. If you look to the left of the aircraft, in the next two or three minutes you might be able to catch a glimpse of Albert Pujols’ home run ball.”

Ironically, we've managed to win the same number of playoff games, though. :hmmm:

There's no reason to believe that Mauer is on steroids.

Albert Pujols is the best player of his generation. 50 years from now they'll talk about him the way we talk about Mantle and Ruth.

Does it hurt to be as ****ing stupid as you are? Or are you too stupid to feel pain?

POND_OF_RED 11-24-2009 04:31 PM

Milton Bradley got screwed. Props to Pujols. He's pretty decent.

You are like an inverse savant -- you're competent in every aspect in life except for one area where you're really, really bad. That area is posting.

right. its his stats that he can control that should count. defense cant score points in baseball, so cy young shouldnt look at wins. pitcher allows two runs in seven and his team wins/loses. he cant do anything to bolster it either way.
