Some thoughts...
Some thoughts about this game...
1. Us Chiefs fans are overreacting about this loss. 2. We almost beat the Raiders, who are Super Bowl contenders, and that means we aren't that far off and will get better as the season goes on. (heck, we didn't even attempt to run the ball that much, or not even have to, and still almost beat them). 3. I still see the Chiefs going to the playoffs this year. CG thinks Raider fans have no excuse to laugh...we almost beat them, but according to them...we "suck?" It's mind boggling, isn't it. Typical Raider fans.:D |
1 and 2 yes, 3 no.
|
My thoughts...you have been the biggest Trent Green booster since we traded for him, and to tell you the honest truth, I didn't like what I saw yesterday. Derrick Alexander HAS TO bounce back quickly, or we are suddenly VERY thin at WR.
|
The Raiders aren't SB contenders, IMHO.
1. If they keep running old man Rice on crossing routes, he's gonna "catch" early retirement. 2. Garner cannot pass block - he's gonna get Gannon killed. 3. Their push off the ball sucks. 4. Dink & Dunk won't beat the upper echelon teams. They need a vertical passing game. 5. Schedule. 6. They nearly lost to a 7-9 team yesterday. |
3.....no doubt, Brock, give it a lil faith
Trent is good, just haven't gelled, think any of our previous qb's would have run for that 1st down on 4th? Or even ran a succesful 2 minute drill?
|
As much as I hate saying this, but I think the Raiders are Super Bowl contenders. Even though they're old, etc.
Just my opinion... |
arent they doing a tribute to DT at the GIANTS GAME????
|
What a tribute to DT has anything to this topic, I'll never know.....
|
i was just asking a question, was i supposed to make apost to ask it??? i think not. so get off my case please. and i suppose by using my full name was supposed to scare me like my dad???? if i have done anything to piss you off phobia please say so but not in that manner.
|
Scare you like your dad???? I haven't any idea what you're talking about. You pissed me off with your first post on BroncoFan's topic, but that has nothing to do with the below post. Now you are talking about using your full name and something about scaring your dad. Everyone knows your full name - don't they? I'm lost. Clue me in, please.
|
Father?
Yes son. I want to kill you. |
how would they?? anyways like i said a minute ago was that i was sorry if you mistook something i said, and that is all i have to say to that.
|
The way most people know your full name is because you were Cashman on the Star's BB and the Star also displays full names. Scott Cash. Now, fill me on what I did to scare your dad.
|
you read to much into things, what i was aying was like when your dad uses your full name to scare you??? a punn if you will. sorry if you are in a bad mood tonight dont take it out on me. i hope we can move on and past this misunderstanding.

It matters little to me whether or not the Raiders are SB contenders. The fact of the matter is the Chiefs lost a game to the Raiders they should have won. Two costly fumbled snaps, poor special teams play, no running game, a missed 37-yd. FG, and a passing game that looked completely out of sync doomed the Chiefs. With a 17-6 lead in the second half, the Chiefs should have won the game. There was no excuse for that loss on Sunday.
And I don't want to hear this nonsense about "time to gel". They had all of training camp and 4 preseason games to get their timing down. Football in not calculus. It shouldn't be that hard to learn the plays and get in sync. I believe the players just didn't have their heads in the game. They didn't come to play. That is the only excuse I will accept. We will see if they show up for the game in Seattle. |
Dude,
I'm not in a bad mood and I'm not reading into anything. You often speak in fragmented sentences and incomplete thoughts. It's confusing to me, but I'm happy you've clarified your thoughts. Sorry you felt picked on. That wasn't my intention. I think this happened once on the star's board a very long time ago. I think it's safe to chalk it up to the flaws of text communication. |
Let's put it this way: The Raider game was a game we were supposed to lose, and that I realistically expected us to lose. We blew it, we had it and gave it away, but it's not the end of the season. Our offense can't be much worse than what we saw out there yesterday.
I will say this: this Seattle game is a game a playoff team will win. It is a game we should win. If we don't bounce back and win this game, then the probability is that this won't be our year... |
KPHOBIA,
yes lets put this behind us. and was it you and i that got into it on the STARS board??? chalk it up to CASH saying and putting the wrong stament in the wrong place.;) so is it safe to ask again if DTs ceromony will be at the giants game??:D |
It wasn't the fact that the Chiefs lost, it is the fact the offense stunk it up quite a bit. I mean, the Raiders tried to give us that game. And our Defense played well. But we got nothing from the O and the kicking (not punting) special teams left alot to be desired.
As for all this bolognie about no other old KC QB ever being able to do that, that is not true. I will start with Bono (and skip him actually) since I assume you are not talking about Houston beating Joe Montana. Grbac DID come back and win a couple games for us in the last drive in the waning minutes last year. He also had a bonehead play in Buffalo. If we had the Grbac of last year, I think we would have won that game. I know we did not yesterday, but we also did not have so many breaks going our way. How many times was Oakland penalized? How many times did they give up the ball to our attacking D? I can safely say if we had Grunhard and Grbac in there we would have won the game. Not trying to have a Grbac v. Green debate, but I have heard too many posts about the difference between Green and Grbac on one of Green's worst days. What Grbac would not have done is: 1. The 4th-10 scramble. 2. Caught his batted down ball and try to run with it. - Mark |
I can assure you one thing...
and that is if Grbac was the QB yesterday, he would've thrown about 5 interceptions. Green is a good QB, and yesterday wasn't his best game. But don't worry, we will succeed with him. CG I'd rather have Green than whats his face...;) |
Not sure how you would think he would throw 5 interceptions. He threw two over two games against Oakland last year.
CP/AT YDS TD INT Grbac 23/40 288 2 0 Grbac 39/53 504 2 2 Green 16/37 222 1 1 But I do prefer Green's lack of interceptions. I mean, his only interception came on the last play of the game when you are supposed to throw the hell out of the ball and hope for some divine intervention. I know Green will improve and we will see the same QB we saw in preseason. (I sure hope so anyway). I know this is probably one of the worst games he has played in 2-3 years and it is a new system and playing with a #1 WR who has missed much of camp with an injury and a rookie at #2 spot. But, thet's also the exact situation Grbac had last year. I am happy to have Green. I am ecstatic to have DV here. I have faith in our future. Just think the lack of realism on Grbac's talent is lasting a bit long. He is not Brett Favre or Kurt Warner. But, he was also our entire offense last year. Here's hoping Green doesn't have to shoulder the same problems. - Mark |
Damn, don't know why the hell I am defending Grbac... please retract my last post. I even watched him this weekend hoping to see him implode. I guess it just feels like we are denegrating the few accomplishments we had last year sometimes.
- Mark Old habits die hard. |
Mark,
I agree that this was one of Green's worst games, and now that I think about it, he could have thrown 2 or 3 ints if the CBs would've had hands or been quicker to the gun, but oh well...all these coulda, woulda, shoulda's drive me nuts. Time to move on to the next game. Hope we beat the hell out of the Seahawks!!!! Go Chiefs!!!! |
Can I interupt here and say 1 thing.........Breathe!
|
Breathe in the air...
Don't be afraid to care... Leave, but don't leave me... Look around, choose your own ground. Sorry, I get a little carried away sometimes.:D |
