I saw one of them hit the tower on live television - it was a big passenger jet 737 possibly (twin turbine)

NEW YORK — Two airplanes have crashed into the World Trade Center, igniting a huge blaze in the world's third tallest buildings.


The crashes by two aircraft into each of the Twin Towers immediately raise concerns that terrorists have launched an attack on the tallest buildings in New York City.

Flames can be seen pouring out of each of the 110-story Twin Towers, and smoke is billowing from the roof.

More than 40,000 people work at the World Trade Center. The downtown Manhattan complex comprises two buildings, with more than 400 firms from over 25 countries. The complex is so big, it requires two postal zip codes.

More than 100,000 business and leisure visitors come to New York's Twin Towers each day.

I'm getting my info from radio Dartgod. We also have a small Tv here in our office. The second jet that rammed the tower happened on live TV.

I'm watching NBC News and saw the second plane crash live. Now they're showing the Pentagon and it appears there was an explosion at the helo-port next to the Pentagon and there is a large cloud of smoke covering the building and surrounding area.

Now they're getting some reports that it was either a detonated bomb or a plane crash of some sort near the building.

Oh my God!!! This is horrible!!! The White House and Pentagon are being evacuated as well!!! There's a fire in the Pentagon!!! I'm so sorry for the world today!!!:( :( :( :( :( :(

On Dubai television there was a report that a Palestinian group is claiming responsibility and Sharon and Arafat's scheduled meeting today has been canceled.

Is there a confirmation what happened at the Pentagon. Bomb or plane?

It's gotta be Osama Bin Laden...he was behind the World Trade Center bombing AND the attack on the USS Cole.

Reports now that the entirety of tower two has collapsed. What an unimaginable loss of life.

Radio news reports that the north tower of the WTC has collapsed. On TV you can't tell as it is completely engulfed in smoke and dust.

Update: A reporter just said it was the south tower. Not sure which one, but one is definitely down.

It appears that a very large section of one of the towers has collapsed. There is a giant dust cloud engulfing the area.

Every plane now in the air had better find a runway quick. With 9:00 am 40 minutes away in LA, I would expect sortees to be scrambling in the next 10 minutes to blow everything bigger than a spotted owl out of the sky.

CBS radio said something happened at the "State Department" might have been a plane. That's all I know.
