Am I the only one who hates it when people call Thigpen "Thiggy"?

to my knowledge this is a internet thing and surely no one would refer to him as that in person.

It is very Buddy Bell-ish.

L.A. Chieffan 12-29-2008 07:37 PM

I call him T&T dynamite

cdcox 12-29-2008 07:39 PM

No, you are not. But complaining about it won't stop anyone.

DT58HOF 12-29-2008 07:39 PM

I call him Athelete but not a QB

Mecca 12-29-2008 07:41 PM

I call him Napoleon Dynamite.

PastorMikH 12-29-2008 07:43 PM

I don't have a problem with it. Football players get nicknames. IMO, Thiggy is a lot better than some of the nicknames other players have gotten.

And, if it were a one time meeting, I probably wouldn't say "Thiggy", it would probably be more of "um, uh, Mr Thigpen sir, would you mind signing this for me?", but if we had ongoing interaction, I probably would throw it out a time or two to see how he takes it.

i am reasonably sure that quite a few people on this board have voiced their hatred for this nickname. so no, you are not the only one.

smittysbar 12-30-2008 01:12 AM

I call him "KC Future"

The spread is the bomb.........kill yourself

Hammock Parties 12-30-2008 01:16 AM

It's fairly reeruned.

DaneMcCloud 12-30-2008 01:20 AM

I think it's an immature name for an immature quarterback.

That being said, it sounds more like a nickname you'd give a female model, not an NFL QB.

Thig Lyfe 12-30-2008 01:57 AM

I call him Thigg Nasty.

triple 12-30-2008 02:48 AM

No, I hate it too.

But I hate "Thigpin" even more.

RealSNR 12-30-2008 02:58 AM

You're being really close-minded and thignorant about other peoples' habits regarding football players from their favorite team.

ShortRoundChief 12-30-2008 03:01 AM

Says the basement-dwelling morlock that came up with "Germ Warfare."

**** sakes man, you're a writer. Perhaps not a great one, perhaps not my favorite, but have some pride. Germ warfare?

How about the "ExtHerminators?"

"Posters for AffHermative Axe'n."

And you complain about "Thiggy" which isn't supposed to be cute or witty, just short for Thigpen. Like Mikey, Joey, Billy, etc...

Be damned!!

That was funny, if only to me.

and that's all that really matters.

ChiefJustice 12-30-2008 05:59 AM

He gets paid well enough.

He is should be happy to have a job...let alone a nickname.

MahiMike 12-30-2008 07:20 AM

When you have a name like Thigpen, you get what you get. I like it. 2 best phrases in NFL: "gettin jiggy with Thiggy" and "Wacco for Flacco".

CHENZ A! 12-30-2008 07:26 AM

I thought his nickname was FRANCHISE?
