Draft Planet. It's time.
Because we suck, we've been talking about the draft for most of the season.
Well, our season is over, and the draft is on all of our minds now. The Senior Bowl practices are next week. The offseason evaluation process is just about to start. It's time. Oh, and FTR, I hate this prefix bullshit. |
if all we have is the draft then why not have the lounge BE the draft planet?
just sayin' |

We need a GM and HC before ANY Speculation could possible begin.....
Hell we have zero idea on how this draft will go or whom we will even consider... |
I don't really care one way or another, but I fail to see why having the link in the lounge is such a big deal. Those who want to go there know how to get there.
|
What's the Draft Planet?

a sub-forum without a prominent link in the lounge dies a pretty quick death tbh. |

I look at the draft forum a lot more when it's hooked up to the main forum. A lot more traffic. |

draft forums are banned here

As slow as the Lounge is so far, might be nice to keep everything in the lounge. Or don't I don't care either way.
I'll shut up now.......................... |

that's why it's back on the front now |
I've been barking up that tree for a year now.
The mods will only do it when they're ****ing good and ready to. Shut your trap, simpleton. Prepare for the new ChiefsPlanet. Soon you'll have prefixes for your POSTS. |

Yeah, God forbid there be a prominent place on a FOOTBALL forum to talk FOOTBALL without having to get threads bumped over the newest recipes, grooming techniques or the latest fake story about our GM hire. |

yep. begging and pleading will do shit for you on this subject.
|
Direckshun is going to neg-rep the shit out of me for saying this, but it might be better off staying where it is.
When DraftPlanet is in the shadows, the talk there is better. Dipshits who want to take Chase Daniel with a 1st round pick either don't know that it's there, or don't take the time to post it there - let that crap clutter the Lounge. Leave the serious talk to DraftPlanet. |
I think it should be up there year round. Also the DraftPlanet keeps alot of the tards out when it comes to draft talk.

Everyone knows Reesing would be a better selection. Too bad he'll be off the board. He's like a mini Flutie. |

The convenience far outweighs the quality, I think. It's not like the quality posters will go away. We'll just see extra stuff around it. One last thing. Seriously? You can't ignore someone's unintelligent ramblings about our first round pick for the sake of getting more people involved in discussion? There are plenty of fantastic posters interested in the draft that the forum doesn't see otherwise. They'll be there if the direct link is there. |

Seriously though, I mainly come here to learn about Chiefs football. It's time for Draft Planet. |

I've said my piece on this. Knocking a forum from the top obliterates it. The Draft Forum gets no traffic whatsoever because, as milkman's said in the past, "out of sight out of mind." All I know is that I get a huge difference posting a mock in Draft Planet and posting one here in DaFace's prefixed wet dream. Posting one in DP invites conversation, and criticism. Posting one here, as I've done a couple times in the heavy traffic of the evening, elicits two-word posts, simple insults, and shrugs. The breakdowns, as I always love doing them, are few and far between because they get washed out. And hiding the forum like it is now kills it. The talk either gets washed out in the heavy, mindless traffic, or gets killed in an isolated forum. The happy medium is elevating the separate forum. Jesus CHRIST JUST BRING IT BACK. |

I'm surprised this is even an issue. There has been a seperate draft forum now for the past 3 seasons on Chiefsplanet, and every year it's a great success. People simply want a quick rundown on draft news and opinions, and the quick link of the draft forum provides that. The main forum otherwise gets cluttered with other important things, like Pioli head coach threads and poop posts. I don't even do that much research or post my own mock drafts or anything. But I love READING others' opinions on these college players. It really educates me well when the day comes in April. If it hasn't been seconded already, I second putting the draft forum up as a link on the main forum page |
Here's my thoughts.....like anyone cares.
Bring it back.......but at least make it simple. I just get tired of seeing 20 new threads with everyone's personal mock drafts. Create a mock draft thread and merge all of the mocks into it if need be. Shit....I'll volunteer just to merge the shit together. |

I miss seeing Draft Planet up at the top....but I don't miss the 80 ****ing mock drafts that pop up. HEY.....WE TRADE DOWN 20 TIMES IN THE 1ST ROUND!!!11!1!!!!!!111 |

I'll take care of it, I have mod powers in that forum only. |

Because most of the time, people will largely agree on players, but disagree on value. I don't think most of us would say no to Tebow, but is Tebow really 1st round talent? If not, 3rd? 7th? |
Quote:
Having people start a new thread each time they come up with a new mock? Not so great. |
Quote:
|
There is literally no difference in someone putting up a mock and somebody starting a topic saying "I really like this guy" or "keep an eye out for this late rounder.
We want to group all those threads together, too? |
Quote:
The majority of talk about a specific player would be in one or two threads. People (at least in DraftPlanet) respect that another thread is already going about Player X, and refrain from starting another one. Mocks, for some reason, people feel compelled to start new threads for, when it could be discussed just as easy in a thread just for mocks. JMO. |
Okay gang, as many of you know I still have friends at the highest level in the Chiefsplanet organization and have this info to share with full confidence: Draftplanet will be back. This announcement will come Thursday or Friday at the latest. Morphius and Daface are working out the finer points of this forum's location, but the deal is sealed. Also, Bob Dole informed Milkman and Direckshun they will be subject to much mod abuse. And if they don't like it, they can lick Bob Dole's asshole.
I only share this information because I'm no longer with the forum and it's fun to share that a new day is dawning at Chiefsplanet. OTW will quickly move to clean out the forum and hire a new mod. The only info I have on the new mod is it will not be Kirk Ferentz from the Iowa Hawkeyes. Kirk coaches his son at Iowa and does not want to leave his bedside until his son graduates. Mike Shanahan has contacted OTW, but I don't know any info beyond that. |

threads no one responds to will drop threads that people respond to will stay on top segregating the draft talk in a draft forum is sufficient to keep things in place...merged threads are abortions it seems like we are continually trying to complicate and micro-manage things here...like the stupid Microsoft-like prefixes ("Hey, you want to post? Great, but instead of pressing one button, you have to press 3...we call it an upgrade at Microsoft!!")...it really isn't a complex operation, just post... |
Quote:
I still think each mock serves a unique purpose. And if anything else they keep the forum moving. But of course I feel that way; I posted a new one like once every week or so last year. Mocks are a great way for me to float ideas out there and experiment with different combinations. I love the feedback. That may or may not deserve its own thread, but getting its own thread invites more feedback. |
Quote:
Remember how people stopped visiting the Pioli Watch thread for news? We won't get as much discussion. At all. |
Quote:
Eh, honestly, it's less work for me. I could give a shit. Watch good threads get bumped, for bullshit, just like it does (and is right now) in the Lounge. |

Merging threads is less work. The job itself is little/no work, unless some ****stick like Marlboro Chief goes on a porn posting spree. God forgive someone trying to make the place more user friendly. If you all would rather wade through the shit, fine. |
Quote:
For example, adding Rick Gosselin's annual mock to the butt of a 20,000 page thread is a terrible idea. |
Quote:
Any time an "expert's" mock comes out, it deserves its own thread. |
I think we just need to keep the mock's seperate like the Walter draft thread right now. Like have one for Walter, one for Scott Wright, one for McDouche etc. Put all the information from those into one thread I think it would work. For indivdual mocks, I dont know if we get alot of them - I do one, Direcky does a few but I dont remember a ton of them getting posted.
|
Quote:
If people want them separate, then so be it. |
We still need DP on top though. Its the hardcore football talk thread on this place. Even a douche like findthedouche talked football and sort of knew his stuff in it.

woo-hoo!!

I hate the merged threads. Or putting everything in one. Makes it hard to see which people are talking about, then if a new one gets posted the last one gets overlooked. Just my two cents.
|
Trewor Laws had an offside against Minesota.
