Bill Williamson on ESPN News:
Brilliant move by Hunt and Pioli. Talked to someone on Wednesday that spoke with Shanahan, who had said that he wanted the "best position in the AFC West." Thought that was odd since KC was the only job that might become open. Seems to think that SP and MS will make a good team. Take a QB with #3 pick... |
Just saw it on the ticker
|
I wonder what Horseface is thinking right now...
and Cutler... |
I think it's a damn good move.
|
Quote:
Like I said then, he'll probably claim it all came down AFTER he talked to the Rat. |
Awesome! Love this move! I especially love it because my wife is a Broncos fan!
|
Absolutely great choice...
|
Props to Jack ****ing Harry really...
and OTWP thanks for stealing my thunder on the post!! :P I was just too slow |
I'm going to have to learn to like it, I guess.

ARE WE IN BIZZARO WORLD?!?!?!?!
|
An aggressive offense? Check
Someone who can develop QBs? Check Someone who knows the AFC West? Check Get over the Denver hatred, Mike Shanahan is a home run choice. In the span of one month we've gone from Dictator Carl/Herm to Pioli/Mike Shanahan... that is like going from Janet Reno to Jessica Simpson |
If this happens, one thing is for sure, our odds of winning for the first time in Invesco just got a lot higher, and we're not going to stop beating the Faiders...
|
THIS IS SO ****ING AWESOME
EVERYONE GET SHANAHAN IN YOUR AVATAR |

The only real beauty of this will be Shanarat tormenting Taco John.
|
I really don't know how I feel about this. Lots of pros and cons.
I thought he needed to take a year off and recharge his batteries. Maybe not having GM duties will be all the respite he needs. |
This is awesome.
|
It's the Shanarat

Shanahan is not yet. ESPN News saying that Chiefs and Shanny are "near a deal." Jack Harry calling Schefter out on 810... Jack says this has been going on for weeks. |
If you don't have your TV on ESPN News, I would turn it on. Sounds like this is going to be talked about in depth

The updated report on ESPN.com:
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3855917 Edwards fired by Chiefs KANSAS CITY -- Kansas City Chiefs coach Herm Edwards was fired Friday, a well-placed source told ESPN. Edwards was 15-33 in three seasons with the Chiefs, including 2-14 this season. The Chiefs have been in negotiations to land Mike Shanahan as their next coach and a deal is near, league sources told ESPN's Chris Mortensen. Edwards' status has been in doubt since the Chiefs hired Scott Pioli as their general manager on Jan. 13. Asked at his introductory news conference about Edwards' status, Pioli declined to say. He was 41-44 in five seasons as head coach of the New York Jets, including three trips to the playoffs. Edwards came to Kansas City from the Jets and made the playoffs in his first season,w hen the team was 9-7. But he was under fire after the team finished 4-12 in 2007. Team management gave him its support, but expected a run at the playoffs. Instead, the team went 2-14, leaving Edwards' fate up in the air. |

Unbelievable. |
on a side note, a real benefit of hiring Shannarat is that he already has a working knowledge of our players from coaching against us.
when he was preparing for the game against us, who better to know which of our players suck and how they suck. |

First Schefter says we're not getting Pioli, then he tried to squash all the Shanny rumors.
Pioli and Clark have owned his ass. Schefter friggin' sucks. |

lee shit |
I guess it's ok for maybe 3 years.
|
If this goes down, it was worth the 3rd we gave up to get Herm in order to clean house and end up with Pioli and Shanahan

This Dont get me wrong I like the move .Damn the Rat is a Chief  |

we'll see about the defense? Only time will tell. hopefully Pioli can be an outstanding GM and help him in that aspect of the team. it'll be interesting thats for sure. |
