Yancy Thigpen will................

be under center next year. Per Jamie Dukes. I hate that fat fucker. Not just for that mistake.

BigChiefFan 01-23-2009 06:13 PM

Yancy is a RETIRED WR.

MVChiefFan 01-23-2009 06:13 PM

Sounds like he's gettin' a little too "yancy" with his statements!

kcpasco 01-23-2009 06:13 PM

Jamie Dukes is an ignorant fool

MVChiefFan 01-23-2009 06:20 PM

Speaking of saying wrong things, did anyone hear Mark Schlereth say that Scott Pioli is a "wonderlik kid"? I don't think that is what he meant.

What happened to Lincon Kennedy
he was pretty good

KCChiefsMan 01-23-2009 06:39 PM

which team drafted him? I remember him being a top pick, it was the Steelers wasnt it?

JuicesFlowing 01-23-2009 06:42 PM

Later on I thought they said Nancy Thigpen. Tyler must be feeling pretty good about himself either way.

I remember him in an Oilers uniform aswell as the Steelers. Definately Pittsburgh though.

JuicesFlowing 01-23-2009 06:53 PM

NFL Network has become disappointing. Of course, so has ESPN with their bullshit. "Oh, now it's only "TARGETING" ....

KChiefs1 01-23-2009 06:55 PM

I can't wait til Trent Green retires so he can replace these tards on NFL Network.

Frosty 01-23-2009 06:55 PM

If Jamie Dukes is right that Herm got fired because of Croyle and Thigpen, then they both deserve to go into the Ring Of Honor.

joemama 01-23-2009 06:57 PM

Chargers drafted him. Then off to Pittsburgh. Tennessee Oilers. Then Titans for last two years.

ChiefBrad 01-23-2009 08:29 PM

Thigpen deserves 1 more year. draft Curry or Crabtree

Mr. Laz 01-23-2009 08:31 PM

Thigpen is a good backup, starter not so much.

Not too many QBs look like starters when they've started less than a season. We still called Green "TrINT" after his first season.

I'm anxious to see what Thigpen can do with better coaching and a decent team around him.

Thigpen doesn't deserve shit....

Oh and lets see a LB hasn't been picked in the top 5 in a decade and Michael Crabtree are you high?

When Herm got fired he yelled 'NOOOO" because new head coach kills him with his absolute reliance on not being under center.

unothadeal 01-23-2009 09:46 PM

He called Croyle "Crawl"

yea we'll see if any of the QB's this year are still on the team after final cuts post preseason. Some of you guys need to relize that Pioli has pretty much said this team needs to be rebuilt. He's not saying to continue the so called herm rebuild but actually doing it correctly. This team next season will be completly different week one of the 2009 season. The starting QB is not on this roster right now, I don't know who it will be I'm just predicting a lot of changes are on the way.

I'm not convinced that Thigpen is our QBOTF, but come on... the guy performed extremely well in an offense that was installed half-way through the season in his first season being a starter. He never had the snaps or preparation of the offseason and he still put up some great numbers.

I still think we need to see more out of Thigpen, especially in the accuracy dept, but I'm not ready to write him off.

But, did you hear him say (something to the effect of) they lost because they don't have a QB? That the key position is the QB?

I have my doubts about the 2 that are listed in the first round this year. But, we do need a talented QBOTF.

I think Thigpen is 50/50 at this point ... as far as us fans thinking if he will continue to be the starter. It's possible Pioli will think he has potential. It's, also, possible he will be the 3rd. string or even be cut.

...and his second season. That was 2002 when he gave Deltha Oneil the INT record for one game. Wasn't it like 4?

no, it is not. you do realize this is the kansas city chiefs we are talking about, right? and you think they can find 2 or 3 quarterbacks better than tyler thigpen this offseason?

JuicesFlowing 01-24-2009 12:21 PM

From here on out, I will only refer to Thigpen as "Yancy" ... because it came from a reliable source.

I think Rodney Harrison was surprised at what he was hearing. As was everyone else. If his point was that KC has some rather unknown QB's, it was a rather bad attempt to make that point.

You do realize we have a new administration at Arrowhead? Until he proves otherwise, I’ll trust Pioli to evaluate the QB’s and determine which direction to go. I do believe Pioli is a better evaluator of talent than Carl’s crew.

And, yes, it is possible to find QB's better than Thigpen, if Pioli determines he is not an NFL QB.

thigpen did a damn fine job last year, with a very poor supporting cast. there is no way in hell they will release him.
