Late January Approval Ratings
We've now had a chance to see Clark handle a couple of key situations and Pioli handle one. Just curious to see how satisfied with the duo's initial job performance.
|
Clark gets an A+ ... cuz we hire what is thought too be the best GM avail.
Time will tell. Pioli gets an A ... cuz it took him 9 days too long too fire Herm, but he did. So we go from there. |
I gave Clark an A, would have been an A+, but I thought he should have got rid of Herm a long time ago.
Pioli I gave an A, same reason as above |
I'm still waiting to see who Pioli brings in to be the new HC.
I think he handled the situation with Herman ****ing Edwards in a professional manner, but I'm not ready to give him a thumbs up until he makes the most important decision of the offseason for him. I'm pretty pleased with the way Clark has gone about his business. Pioli was not my first choice, but the fact is, Clark went out and brought in the most sought after GM candidate over the last 3-4 years, so it's makes a pretty strong statement that Clark is serious about the business of winning. |
Pioli fired Herm at the exact right moment from a PR standpoint. The Chiefs can't make any news this week because of the Super Bowl, but since everything has been so quiet there will be rumors flying all week long. It's genius.
Now, everyone just sit back, relax, and let Pioli do his job. Not your job. *His* job. |
A+ for Clark for finally ridding us of Carl, and I abstained from voting on Pioli, he hasn't done anything yet other than fire Herm, as if that required much thought.

The name is familiar. |
Carl should have been dumped a year ago, with Herm. The Herm hire was one of Lamar Hunt's last acts. I didn't see Clark getting in the groove until late 08, as he tried to be a "hands off" owner with Carl doing the main duties, with too much responsibility.
The way DV and Herm were hired, were under the table. I commend the forthrightness that Clark and Pioli have displayed, to date. The real tests will be with the coach selection, the draft, and the trades. |
They both get an A+.
Clark hired Pioli. Pioli fired Herm. |
A+ for Clark for being decisive with all the decisions.
A- for Pioli, will be ready to upgrade to A+ depending on HC selection. |
Clark gets a C. His decision to let Herm and Peterson rebuild the team last year is a solid F. His decision to hire one of the perceived top personnel guys available is an A -. IMO he should interviewed DeCosta as well.
Pioli gets a C as well. He hasn't done anything except fire a coach that everyone knew would be fired. |
You can easily see that for Chiefs fans starved for information, we are going to be frustrated.
I see Pioli as a very controlling person (I wonder what it would be like to work for him). Things are going to be calculated, well thought out - and with no leaks or early information to the public. If a reporter can crack his code - and provide early information, now we're talking about a good reporter. Any takers? I just see this from everything going on in the last week or so. I am willing to be patient - as in the Herm firing, and with other things, but for a "technology" world that wants information now, and if many cases, yesterday, good luck! We're going to be the last to know. |
Just what have they done for me lately

Clark gets an A+.
Pioli hasn't done anything other than fire Herm, something any GM would have done. I'll give him a B for now. I'm sure that will become higher once there is something to grade him on. |
I gave them both an A. The only thing keeping them from A+ is that we still don't have a new coach, but it's a fluid situation. Either way, they are making changes and that's good.
|
pioli hasn't really don't much ...... how ya gonna grade him
first step of getting rid of herm is good both Hunt and Pioli are taking their freaking time though |
Clark has done everything you could ask...
|
Clark Hunt - A+
Scott Pioli - B |
I give Clark a C. Getting rid of obvious failures was not a tough decision despite what everyone makes it out to be. Until he's shown with his pocketbook that he is willing to make this team a champion I withhold a higher grade.
I give Pioli a B. Interviewing Herm for the situation on the ground was a prudent move. I won't blame him if he hires a big name out there, but I'd rather see him bring in someone who will have the energy to start us on the way to a championship. |

I dunno...my perception is that it would have been rather difficult for Clark to spit in his palms, rub them together and say "It's MY team now, bitches!" only a few months after his dad passed away (after 46 years of the LH way). I am not so sure he had an accurate read on the situation until after the 2007 season. He made his statement that 4-12 is not acceptable, and gave Carl, Herm, et al a chance to right the ship in 2008. IMO, he's a young guy who now feels, and bears being the owner of the team. Clark B+ for getting what we all perceive to be the best guy available. Pioli gets an "I" / incomplete. Firing Herm was like getting credit for writing your name on the test sheet- "Yes, Scott- that's the first step..." |
Pioli I think has done brilliantly in his short time. He could have chosen quickly for PR reasons, but he took his time and did what was right in spite of what everyone else wanted him to do.
Keeping Herm around long enough to get more informed intell on the organization and his players in very smart. Lets see where he goes from here... |
Clark A
Pioli B |
Who the **** gave Pioli a D+!!!?
If you are that person, then please do click on the link in my signature. |
A+'s for both.
Pioli is doing what he says he will and being thoughtful about each decision. He seems to be completely sincere and generally without an ego. Can't ask for anything more so far. |
The fact that Pioli is studying KC deeply and taking his time. Let Herm and Gunth go will earn him an A+ in my book.
|
Clark an A for Pioli
Pioli doing great so far 1st step leting Goother walk 2nd step evaluating Herm led to his firing. Will be interesting to see who he hires as HC and DC. :thumb: |

the Arm chair GMs on CP... it's no wonder they are really not in tune with the business side. |
Super Bowl this week really? I stop after the Chiefs lose the last game.
|
A+ for both.
When Shanahan is hired, I start the fellatio. |
Clark A+ and Scott A-
|
They both so far deserve Aplus. He did the smart thing in keeping Herm another week. Picked his brain on the players, then said gets to steppin. I got the info i needed. How can the score be any lower? lol
