I admit though, I cried after a game once. The 97 playoff game in Arrowhead against the Donkos. I was stunned. Pretty upset. Dan Dierdorf is the one that set me off. As CBS was going off the air, Dan says "I don't think the better team won today folks." That was that. Waterworks.

I'm pretty sure I cried myself to sleep after that game, too. Of course I was 16.

I cried back in '76 when Chambliss homered in the bottom of the 9th.

Wow. Guy's got issues. If you live and die by your favorite team's successes and failures, you're gonna be miserable most of the time. That guy at the end should have said "quit being such a pussy". :)

My sister still tells the story of me watching that game.

I was staying with her and her family while finding a place to live after moving back from Springfield.

After the game ended, I sat there, silent - just staring at the TV.

After about an hour, I finally got up, took off my DT jersey, folded it up nice and put it away.

She said I didn't speak a word to anyone until Tuesday...

It's hilarious to hear her tell it, I apparently was in a completely different world for a while there....

To this day, that HR kills me. A routine fly ball out to RC field in any other park.

Shit I felt like shit when KU lost to Cuse in 2003. It was no doubt I thought KU had it all won that season. They were the best team. If only Simien wasn't hurt. FT shooting was horrendous that game as well more than anything.

Arrowhead was a tomb after that game. My wife at the time was bawling like a baby.

No kidding, a real man would've beat his wife & kids.

I think the 95 lose was tougher than than 97 loss. Denver was just as good as we were that year. Indianapolis was a joke. Had Bono been yanked earlier...

That game made me cry, but I was 11 years old.

The absolute worst day of my childhood was December 25, 1971. Instead of being excited about Christmas and the massive number of gifts that I received that day I was CRUSHED when the Chiefs lost to the Dolphins in double overtime in the longest game in NFL history. I cursed like a sailor, began to break things, and acted a total ass. Although I was only 11 years old I still remember this all very clearly.
I got the ass whipping of my life from my parents and they took away my presents for over a week!
Without question the Chiefs were the best team in the NFL that year. They would have beat the shit out of the Cowboys in the Super Bowl had they gone on to play them (and they should have!) It took YEARS to get that game out of my mind. I'm much better now but I'm sure that I'd say something nasty to Jan Stenerud if I ever meet him. :banghead:

The real truth behind the story is that his kid probably lost a large amount of money on the game...

Worse Chief loss to get over = December 25, 1971 Miami 27 KC 24. The game was blacked out in KC and my Dad took our whole family to St. Louis to watch the game. We watched the game from a hotel room and it was a back and forth game all day. I was just shell shocked. I think the return flight was about six hours long. I was numb for days.

How did that game get blacked out?

To me, the Jan 96 loss to Indy was more heartbreaking.

Because Indy were true underdogs and NOBODY gave them a chance coming into that game.

At least that Denver team was a very good and went on to win the ship.

He had the checkdown for an easy 1st down, instead he chucks a wounded duck into double coverage (and damn near out of bounds). Even a perfect throw doesn't get that one done.

He was a complete !@#$ for brains.

The horrible thing about that video from 97...it looked to me like Ted Popson was wide open for a first down.

Of course it's questionable if they could have gotten it and spiked the ball quickly enough...maybe that was the whole reason Grbac went deep in the first place. I would like to see an end-zone shot of that play. Did they call three verticals to Rison, Gonzo and Dawson? The Broncos obviously realized the situation and just defended the end zone. Of course it would have been hilarious if Grbac had dumped it short and the clock had expired, per his usual 2-minute MO. I could go on forever. Shoot me.
