Do you think KC Wolf will be back next year?

He might be back as the mascot. But, I'll bet the pregame routine that we've had for the past 15 years is different. It's grown stale. I'd like to bring back Warpaint and the Indian Chief. Now that would be cool !!

blueballs 01-26-2009 04:02 PM

Herm ran off with a furry

Phobia 01-26-2009 04:08 PM

It depends. Did we hire Shanarat?

Cheater5 01-26-2009 04:40 PM

KC Wolf is annoying. Concur, bring back Warpaint.

rad 01-26-2009 04:44 PM

Isn't there some kind of PC-ness involved here? Won't some group get offended if KC parades an Indian Chief around the stadium? Not that I care, just sayin'....

KCwolf 01-26-2009 04:59 PM

Why all the hatred :cuss:

Demonpenz 01-26-2009 05:02 PM

I remember when they used to have a mock scalping at midfield

ChiefsCountry 01-26-2009 05:12 PM

Piolli has nothing to do with KC Wolf.

Jilly 01-26-2009 05:12 PM

LOL!!!!!!

What if they asked a local indian tribe to do it as an honor to keeping their history and tradition alive in Kansas City?

If none of them want to do it then you could still go the horse route but instead of an indian riding warpaint have a hot half naked chick with a "chief" of police badge ride him :)

I'll volunteer to be Warpaint...

Agree then let him crap over at the visitors bench! ROFL.

DTchiefs58 01-26-2009 05:35 PM

The need to change up all the awful 80's rock they play. It was cool for awhile but its getting real old. The only thing i would keep is Rolling stones start me up and Ozzy crazy trane. The rest can be chalked IMO

There would be a $109.95 fee to see Warpaint at arrowhead, but the 1st weeks game is free.

Hell, Florida State does it so why couldnt we? But IIRC, they stopped riding the horse out on the field because it was astro turf back in the 1980s, and I think the horse wiped out once (or twice) in inclement weather.

My assumption is that it might fire up the crowd a little more to have a Sioux or Shawnee warrior come riding out on a horse before kickoff, instead of a dumpy, pear-shaped over grown rat on a four wheeler.

JuicesFlowing 01-28-2009 06:20 PM

Does KC Wolf even do the predictable 4 wheeler-dragging-mascot thing anymore? He didn't do anything at the Tampa bay game. Or perhaps I missed it when I yawned. Anyway ...

keg in kc 01-28-2009 06:31 PM

All that goofy shit can go as far as i'm concerned.

mikey23545 01-28-2009 06:33 PM

Agreed, Warpaint is too cool.

Yeah and they could have one big smoking section in the upper deck and give free packed peace pipes to everyone sitting there and call them The ArrowHEADS

Frazod 01-28-2009 07:14 PM

I really don't care what they do in the pregame - what I'd like to see is an occasional win during the game.

I enjoy watching kcwolf pummel the other team, I also like the national anthem as well.

However, I'd be more than happy to see a win. Especially when I'm freezing my ass off with a negative 20 wind chill.

Goldmember 01-28-2009 07:26 PM

get rid of it and take the stupid tired-ass tomahawk chop chant with it! Probably the same fans that want the wave to come back

Mecca 01-28-2009 07:35 PM

I've never understood why the team mascot was a wolf.

I've never understood why an NFL franchise feels the need to have a mascot to begin with.

Mascots are for high school teams.

Youre absolutely correct. Why should go to the game and sit on our hands. There shouldn't be music or nothing.

winner... will be interesting to see if Wolfpack still has influence with declining ticket sales. Redcoaters are gonna have to press harder.

Thig Lyfe 01-28-2009 10:43 PM

Our new mascot should be Vince from ShamWOW

As soon as I read the topic title, I said to myself "Political correctness"....and then was wondering why I was talking to myself.

Then get full-blooded native Americans to participate. Charge an extra .50cents a ticket and have it go to AIM.

Get rid of the RAT!

Come up with something original mid-America....the chop was copied from college kids. And why was it okay for the Chiefs band to lead that stupid chant but having a guy riding a horse bareback with an Indian Headdress is considered offensive to NAs? I think the former is a lot more indignant. And if the Chiefs feel so bad about offending NAs, why not change the name of the stadium and the team while you're at it? How can you say one thing is offensive and not the other?

Ultra Peanut 01-28-2009 11:27 PM

Seriously. What's the point of genocide if you can't even base sports teams and traditions on those people?

Hammock Parties 01-28-2009 11:30 PM

Maybe not by the Chiefs. But I see no reason they wouldn't give him a credential...whether or not his blog is making enough money for him to keep doing it is another matter.

Hog Rider 01-29-2009 12:02 AM

They should have a local Indian Chief rep' do an "Ed Ames hatchet toss" at the opponents mascot.

That ought to fire 'em up!

I see neither as offensive. Especially considering the origin of the chiefs name. I say the team thrived in kc as a college atmosphere type of gameday experience and to change much (other than winning) would be senseless, imo.

|Zach| 01-29-2009 01:59 AM

Some kind of shakeup with the whole KC Wolf thing would be good but I would rather have a stale KC Wolf show than the lame Indian\horse thing. Just my opinion.

jiveturkey 01-29-2009 08:20 AM

How about 250 fatties doing jazzercise before every game?

What do I win?

How the **** is an Indian on a horse lame? If one of his equine droppings falls in just the right place an opposing player could slip at a key moment in a game, too.

gblowfish 01-29-2009 09:06 AM

The Chiefs retired Warpaint back in the 1970s when they had astroturf. Everytime it would rain, the horse would slip and slide on the turf. Plus, the fat white guy (Bob Johnson) dressed up like an "injun" is waaaaaay non PC now.

I like KC Wolf. He's a great mascot and works his ass off during a game. I agree they need to change up the routine. It's like going to Mass. Same thing every time.
Too many sponsored BS events (Chevy field goal kicking is ultra lame) Bring back Big-12 Bands like Marching Mizzou, KU and K-State bands. Have whoever sings the National Anthem do a quick halftime show. Mix it up, make it fresh.

No TD pack band next year. That'll be a big change.
