I'm surprised that Ramses Barden is there.

He's a good player that dominated on the DII level, but I didn't think he'd be that high on anyone's draft board, especially with Cal Poly playing a triple option offense.

Did you see him at the skills competition yesterday? He was impressive.

I'm surprised Aaron Maybin is so low. I bet he's a top 15 pick when it's all said and done.

I live about 12 miles south of SLO.

I've seen him live a couple of times.

I like him a lot.

I think his measurables are just so enticing it's hard for him to go unnoticed for too long.

On his top 32 list under Maybin it says "top pass rusher but is not physically ready"

I bet that changes after the combine. He looks physically ready to me.

I generally don't read much into the whole genetic thing, but when your dad and your uncle AVERAGED something like 19 years in the NFL, that's hard to ignore.

there are some rather large differences in the ratings for these various Draft guys.

Even 1st round guys varying 20-30 spots on some boards.
According to this guy we could take Michael Johnson with our 2nd round pick.Most boards wouldn't have him available then.

I bet all my casino cash that he will be available when our 2nd round pick comes along.

To say Scott Wright has made an interesting blog entry about Mark Sanchez would be an understatement. He likes Stafford more, and he mentions the dreaded trade down scenario. However, he associates Sanchez with the 3rd pick a couple times:

He thinks Stafford is the best player and has for a long time but even he will acknowledge that Sanchez has just as much long term potential.

Does anyone have any quotes from actual current nfl scouts or coaches that indicate Sanchez should be taken in the top 10?

sadly that usually means nobody really sticks out as being more talented.

If you use Scott Wright's chart KC would get much better value if they took Curry in the 1st and Josh Freeman in the 2nd rather than Sanchez in the first and someone like Unger or Matthews in the 2nd.

Disclaimer: I readily admit I'm not that up on the draft possibilities. My preference would be Sanchez with the 3rd pick, but if the Chiefs decided not to take a QB with the 3rd pick my next choices would be Aaron Curry or Michael Crabtree. Curry seems to give the Chiefs the most value at that pick since no DE or DT really stands out and I admit Crabtree's stock has been rising with me, esp. after watching what a great receiver can do for a team in the playoffs.

.....lets draft the unimportant position first and use the 2nd rounder on the most valuable position on the team, brilliant!

I'm giving up hope of Eric Wood in the third round. That was a little too ambitious. I'm still hoping for Clint Sintim in the second round because Luigs looks like a good third round pick.

Hey according to Frankie, the 3rd round is where you could take Stafford, Sanchez, Matt Ryan or Brady Quinn.

If you want a center at the top of the 3rd Andre Caldwell is possible and I like him as a prospect.

I like Caldwell, but he's not a guy that can fit into any offense.

Looks good to me.

Wright's evaluation of Luigs was practically glowing for a third round player. I'm sure Darren McFadden and Felix Jones would agree.
