Ben Roethlisberger is a fatass

There, I said it. He's not "big" or "strong" or anything. He just weighs a half a ton and looks like a balloon. He's not a QB. He's just a big stupid fat ****.

Please, I want all kinds of posters to tell me how much greater he is than any Chiefs QB we ever had. Please. Tell me how this fatass has won two super bowls in his short career. Tell me how he plays to win the game, doesn't care about statistics, and is cool under pressure.

TELL ME ALL OF THIS.

This is ****ing bullshit. Ben Roethlisberger is NOT a good QB. He's big and fat and has an arm. That's it. He has a great TE, a FANTASTIC tough receiver in Ward and buttloads of talented speedsters who can stretch the field. And... oh yeah. THE BEST DEFENSE IN THE NFL. That helps too.

Go ahead and tell me why you'd take Big Ben over the guys with the flashy stats because of his success and his rings. **** that. You know what?

Give me Kurt Warner and that defense, and I'll show you MORE Super Bowls than Ben Roethlisberger, and I'll show you a team that looks good doing it. Peyton, Brady, Warner, McNabb, Cutler. I'll STILL take all of these QBs over Ben the fat ****.

Tell me why Tyler Pigpen is terrible and why Roethlisberger is great. Actually, don't. Shove it. Piss off. I'm sick of hearing about it. It's getting so I can't make a single goddamn criticism on this board about ANY player in the league without people saying, "The Chiefs are worse at that position." NO ****ING SHIT, SHERLOCK. Yeah, Roethlisberger is better than Thigpen. Who gives a shit? Put that fat ass on the Chiefs and we'll still be 2-14. Maybe even 1-15, because we wouldn't have moved to the spread and scored as many points. We'd still be running R2P2.

Ben Roethlisberger is a mediocre QB on a really good team. There. How about that?

Ultra Peanut 02-02-2009 02:17 AM

Have you seen his offensive line? He's fat and he's mobile and he's got an arm and he's accurate.

He also has two rings in five seasons.

Quote:

Tell me why Tyler Pigpen is terrible and why Roethlisberger is great.
Well, again, Roethlisberger has a good arm and good accuracy.

kcxiv 02-02-2009 02:21 AM

Yeah, he sucks, He cant extend plays. He cant put balls in small windows to give his WR's a chance to catch the ball. He sucks.

Mecca 02-02-2009 02:21 AM

This is a really bad thread...

Ben Roethlisberger was clutch and made numerous outstanding plays to win that game in the final minutes and we got a thread saying he sucks now...

Ben Roethlisberger is that teams franchise player..I really don't understand the hatred alot of this fan base has toward QB's.

Al Bundy 02-02-2009 02:21 AM

I was listening to sirius right at the end of the post game show and some moron called in and said that Ben was better than Tom Brady.... Jim Miller agreed with him, what a putz.

Mecca 02-02-2009 02:22 AM

I don't think he's better than Brady but Roethlisberger is the definition of a clutch player.

Fish 02-02-2009 02:22 AM

So how much money did you lose then?

2 superbowl rings? Drafted 11 overall in '04? You don't draft shitty QBs in the top 15.

For 6 years, Ben Roethlisberger's job has been to yell "DING DING!" when a car pulls up. He takes old hubcaps and places them on his head, and says he's a flying saucer or a man from space. You know, he has fun.

Fritz88 02-02-2009 03:56 AM

He's a fatass who can scramble, throw accurately, absorb all kinds of hits and has a decent running ability. Yeah, he's great.

But I do believe that his success comes from having a good D that will take care of his pitfalls most of the time. I do not think he would have successed with most of the teams in the league.

Demonpenz 02-02-2009 04:17 AM

wow...

This doesn't make any sense.

People like this guy makes me feel sorry for any QB we draft...no one will ever be good enough for this fan base.

Roethlisberger played one HELL of a game yesterday...he made some unbelievable plays and unbelievable throws...all game long.

Both QB's were great. That was a fantastic game featuring two deserving and fantastic teams this year.

We've lost to so many teams with QBs over the years, and our fanbase is so stupid, that rather than thinking that we should emulate the victors, we should put all of our eggs in the basket of the exception to the rule, hoping to win every playoff game 9-7.

I almost wonder if the KC media persecution complex extends to high profile athletes in general--they see that quarterbacks get good press when they play well and they are so jealous of the perceived slight given to KC from the MSM that they project their hate onto QBs.

:D

King_Chief_Fan 02-02-2009 07:24 AM

I don't care what people think about Ben. He played ike a champion on that last drive. He lumbered his fat ass out of trouble quite a few times and made some incredible clutch throws. The average QB cannot complete that TD throw he made to Holmes.

MahiMike 02-02-2009 07:46 AM

2 things; 1) somehow he has a feeling for where both the receivers are and where the pressure is coming from. On that last drive, he shoulda been sacked 3 or 4 times but somehow got the passes off. 2) He's lucky as hell. Look at the Ravens game where he threw up balls that shoulda been picked off and somehow hit guy comes up with it and the defender falls down. Some guys just have the sun shine on them all the time. I thought Tom Brady was lucky until I watched Big Ben.

True. Which is why I KNOW we shouldn't draft a QB. It can takes 3-5 years to see if the pick was worth it. This fan base can't wait 3 preseason games.

Screw the fanbase. The team and management need to do what's best for the team, not what will please idiot fans.

The Bad Guy 02-02-2009 07:57 AM

Only on Chiefsplanet would someone put, "Tell me why Thigpen is terrible, but Roethlisberger is great" after he just won his 2nd SB ring, and lead a 4th quarter comeback that Thigpen never in his life could dream of doing.

Red Dawg 02-02-2009 08:00 AM

No doubt he's a fat ass but he gets it done. At least he got it done in this SB. The last one he played in he was pathedic.

Brock 02-02-2009 08:07 AM

"do these super bowl rings make me look fat?"

Maybe we will get Cowher then Big Ben in 2010 (hmm that rhymes lol)

Simplex3 02-02-2009 08:57 AM

That "fatass" is the best QB in the league at escaping pressure and completing passes. Probably the best since Steve Young.

I would trade any two players on the Chiefs for Ben today. Right now. Any of them. The guy freaking wins.

Then you'd be a complete, freaking idiot. Ben's only this good because he has one of the best defenses on the other side. His defense doesn't return that pick for a TD, he loses the game. That was a 10 point swing. He made 2 amazing plays. I know he won, but still, I think he's overrated as a QB, especially for any other team. But, he's the best fit possible for the Steelers.

I can't believe anyone would bet for the Steelers with that spread. It's ludicrous. The spread on the inline on ESPN was 3.5 That was a good call.

Two plays? You must have only watched the last drive. Ben escaped sure sacks and delivered the ball, with accuracy, all game long. Only Chiefs fans would sit around saying Ben only won because of his defense. The Chiefs had the best D in the league a few times in the 90's. Get back to me with how many Super Bowls that got them. Remember that Ben has two in his first five years.

Besides, name me the two super studs on the Chiefs they just can't do without since you're such a damned genius.

I dunno about that. He's sucked ass plenty of times when they needed him, the first SB was a good example but they won anyway.
He came through pretty consistently this year though.

Groves 02-02-2009 09:45 AM

With his behind the line scrambling he was like Dante Hall out there, getting as much forward yardage, too. Luckily, it works if you're a QB scrambling for more time to throw. Maybe Dante missed his calling.

Larry Fitzgerald is over-rated. What a turd; he has corn rows and has to wear 'gloves' to catch passes. Loser.

For that matter, Drew Brees couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat. Terrible passer.

Jared Allen? Pffft. Gawky white dude who has no true skill; he has perfected one move and has been lucky to have gotten the sacks he has. He has been exposed and will be out of the league in two years.

Second of all, you guys are still all reeruns. It's like there's a gestapo on Chiefsplanet to round up the posters who are against drafting a QB in the first round. Good God, I said nothing like this.

Read my lips, I. Want. KC. To. Draft. A. QB. In. The. First. Round. Mecca, you should know this for crying out ****ing loud.

Got it?

Third, Ben Roethlisberger IS fat. He's damn near Jared Lorenzen-size.

Also, yes, he's a good QB, but he's not the best. I'm sick of the ESPN media talking about why he's the best QB in the league because "he wins games, has jewelry, doesn't care about stats, etc." His TEAM wins those ****ing games. Yeah, Ben can make the play when it counts, but his defense spends the entire game covering up for the stupid plays he makes in the first half. Ben also has a running game and quite a receiving arsenal. My biggest beef with him is people are going to go "OMFG" over him tomorrow, and all I'm saying is STFU

I didn't say Thigpen was better. I was pointing out the multiple times that I criticize other players not on the Chiefs in the NFL, and then some loser asshat will swing by with a post like, "Gee, I sure wish the Chiefs had this terrible player." I don't think the guy is anywhere near anybody's list of all-time QB's but he's a very good QB and works well within the Steelers' system. I think he does everything that's asked of him and then some. I wouldn't hate it if he were somehow a Chief.

I think SNR is just mad that he's not a prettyboy.

Nobody is saying Big Ben is the best QB. But he works within the Pitt system very very well.

Wanna know what the Steelers were like before Big Ben?

Ask Mike Tomzack, Neil O Donnel and Kordell Stewart. They have always had the tough strong defense.

Christofire 02-02-2009 01:44 PM

Even if Roethlisberger is a fatty, it makes his mobility all the more impressive. He survived at least half a dozen broken-down pockets last night, and made some kind of play in most of them. I, for one, have to give him credit, even though I wanted him to lose.

Both of Rothelisberger's passes to Santonio Holmes in the endzone on that last Steelers drive were great. It just happened that the first one went right through Holmes' hands. So then Big Ben had to make the perfect pass on the next play. Who gives a shit how tubby the guy is if he can make a pass like that with the Super Bowl on the line?

MahiMike 02-02-2009 10:11 PM

I was trying to figure out how come he didn't get sacked on that last drive and then I rembered - not even the back windshield of a car can stop him from going 80-0! Dude's tough.

Hey, I liked Trent Green and Joe Montana. Those are the only 2 decent QB's the Chiefs have had in the last 20 years. I guess you could make an arguement for Gannon as well.

Big Ben has been sacked more than any other QB in the past few years, he often makes a play out of nothing. I think he's a very solid QB

I never said he didn't have a good game or wasn't capable of good drives but people act like he's already destined for Canton. Everyone is acting like 1 game is all we need to look at to determine he is an elite QB. There is a difference between good, really good, and great. I see him between good and really good but not in the top tier of QB's.

I'd bet over 70 percent of this board is over 40 lbs overweight, with dry twinkie filling crusted on their keyboards.

Don't hate because he's a BBM.
