Raiders to cut Michael Huff

He hasn't done much, but do you think a change of scenery would help him at all? It cant hurt a player to leave that shit hole.

The Raiders are expected to cut S Michael Huff this offseason.
Huff has been a disaster since being selected No. 7 overall in 2006. Not only has he tackled poorly, he's also been consistently beaten in coverage for the past two seasons. Rashad Baker is likely to be brought back as Hiram Eugene's backup.

Another great pick by Al Davis. 4.3 speed FTL.

Buehler445 02-09-2009 12:14 AM

I thought he was one of their better picks? Am I dreaming or did he used to be decent?

doomy3 02-09-2009 12:14 AM

sure, why not

I haven't watched that many Raider games, but my understanding is that Huff's main problem is that he is completely useless in run support. Apparently the guy can't tackle anyone in the open field.

Then I'm sure he'll find a home in Detroit. He sounds perfect for Gun's scheme.

Thanks dude.

We have enough of those.

ClevelandBronco 02-09-2009 12:21 AM

I feel bad for the guy.

His life was supposed to be set.

Kyle DeLexus 02-09-2009 12:21 AM

If he's gettin cut by the raiders then he should come at a discount. Pioli seems to be big on signing alot of FA's to bring into camp and have competition for spots. Why not bring him in as a low risk high reward type player if he understands what he's worth and signs cheap

ZootedGranny 02-09-2009 12:23 AM

I'm more interested in Leigh Bodden, but I didn't see him play in Detroit last year.

beavis 02-09-2009 12:24 AM

Can he play fullback?

T-post Tom 02-09-2009 12:25 AM

4.3 40? Really? That's blazing for a safety. If he can't tackle, bring him in and see if he can catch. If so, sign him. (I hear our new HC has a way with WRs. ;) )

Micjones 02-09-2009 12:26 AM

I'd definitely bring the guy in.

He's young and talented and should come pretty cheap.
He hasn't exactly been a world beater, but the guy could serve as depth if nothing else.

If he's getting cut by the Raiders, there's a really good reason that he shouldn't be considered by any respectable team.

On the other hand, you guys might want to give him a look...:D

'Hamas' Jenkins 02-09-2009 12:31 AM

He's a University of Texas player. Taking Texas guys in the top 10 is often the hallmark of a GM with a death wish.

**** yeah bring him in and get rid of Jon McGraw's ass.

Page, Pollard, Morgan, Huff.

I also think we should consider signing Asowaomga however you spell his name.

Him with Flowers, Carr, Leggett, get rid of Surtain. Make on hell of a secondary.

I think youre on to something...

2010: Colt McCoy

Reaper16 02-09-2009 12:44 AM

**** yeah, bring him in. Can't hurt.

McCoy won't be a top 10 pick though.

I'm not arguing. You're right....just having a little fun with our favorite TX alum.

I can't make a decision on this until I hear what Mecca has to say. :)

Not true at all, guys get cut every year and sign on with other teams, if for nothing more than a training camp project.

Mecca says Mike Huff is a classic Texas drafted player...I'd have serious reservations about ever drafting a Texas player because they just are not well prepared for the next level.

Donte Whitner who everyone acted like was the reach pick of that draft now laughs at Mike Huff who went in front of him.

that is good advice coming from the guy whose team goes garage sale shopping at the Browns.

Whoa, have I been gone for a long time. A player gets cut by the lowly Raiders, & the ChiefsFan response is "Bring him in!" Dark days indeed for both Chiefdom & RaiderLand. Don't listen to me... I have no intelligent input. Been so far out of football that I didn't been know Cable was named head coach til a coupla daze ago. But my oh my how far we have fallen.... the both of us...

I don't blame you for not paying attention to that mess over there. You guyz should hire a real GM and coach.

We all know that won't happen which leads to plan B which is the only plan and that's for Al Davis to kick the bucket.

Weren't you singing Huff's praises just a season or 2 ago? Saying he was the best safety in the AFCW?

He was saying Huff and Bing meant bad news for Tony Gonzalez. Lolz

BigChiefFan 02-09-2009 10:36 AM

Huff certainly hasn't lived up to the billing. I see why they may can his ass.

Wilson8 02-09-2009 10:40 AM

The New England Patriots under Scott Pioli have signed several free agent DBs. I don't think any of them have been high dollar contracts and if anything they seem to jettison DBs when they get older and more expensive. Michael Huff has a lot of physical talent, so if KC could sign him to a low risk contract, I could see Pioli at least consider it. At 6'1", 205 lbs and sprinters speed, that type of ability is worth looking at.

The truth though is Michael Huff has underperformed and judging from past play, would not be an upgrade to Jarrad Page. So unless Huff is willing to come in at a lower dollar contract and fill the role of backup safety and cornerback, or KC thinks coaching can get a lot more out of him, it's probably not going to happen.

Someone will over pay for him, and it won't be the Chiefs. Huff will probably get a fat contract somewhere and everyone around the league will be going WTF?!?!

People love to overpay on "potential"

I hope we can sign him cheap. Could work out nicely for him to get away from the faiders.

I said the same thing 3 years ago and most of the people here freaked out over it. Lots of people around here had DT Rod Wright going in the 1st round a couple of years ago and I said he sucked.

Yeah, that Randy Moss is a good example of this... :doh!:

I know he was traded...but basically the same thing.

Randy Moss quit. Huff can't play. Big difference.

How do we know Huff hasn't just quit? Who wouldn't quit on that piece of sh*t team?
