Haha I remember that... I prefer Blitz 2000, which features Bam Morris.

Actually, I roll with the Titans on Blitz 2000 because I can't bring myself to play as Elvis ****in' Grbac.

WTF was wrong with Greg? He would rip off 30 yard runs and then get shoved to bench.

30 yard runs won't cut it in the Martyball system.

Exactly. I was more making fun of Marty's commitment to him, going so far as calling him "The Real Deal" and then utterly failing to live up to those words.

I always thought Greg Hill could have been pretty good if he were allowed to be the feature back.

IIRC, He was doing great in St. Louis before he broke his leg.

Hoover 02-10-2009 12:38 PM

I miss Kimball Andrews

DaWolf 02-10-2009 12:42 PM

The problem with Greg Hill was his lack of vision. There were too many times that Real Deal would get to the line, hit the back of an offensive lineman, and fall down. He had great straight away speed and could break some runs when the OL mauled some holes, but that was about it...

Not needed when you had the force of the twin killahs Lake Dawson and Chris Penn lining up on the outside.

Did Victor Bailey ever actually play or did he just steal a 2nd round pick and disappear?

Also, I totally forgot that Chris Dishman played for the Chiefs. :spock:

Also, I have to mention Robb Thomas and Reggie Tongue, since they were both Beavers (I'm ignoring Jose Cortez, though).

IIRC, Victor Bailey's career stats were 2 catches for 12 yards after we traded a second to Philly for him.

I think we also traded a second (maybe a third) to Detroit for Carlton Gray, who never even got into a game, also iirc.

As big of a fan as I am of Louie "I'll run down the punt returner myself dammit" Aguiar, he did have one punt blocked in his career.

If I recall correctly, it was a Monday night game at Arrowhead against Pittsburgh back in 1998. We were backed up in our own end zone after starting a drive on our own 3 and having a few busted plays that didn't result in positive yardage. Louie tried to get the punt off but it was blocked and recovered in the end zone for a touchdown by Pittsburgh. I was at that game, and I think it was then that I realized it was going to be a long season.

He just had one blocked, though.

Gotta say it reason why everybody is scared to draft a QB
