Espn Mcshay says Sanchez then...

Changes it to Curry for our 1st.

He has one of those screens now that Cnn played with during the election.

Mecca 02-17-2009 02:52 AM

That must obviously mean Curry is not our pick then.

PhillyChiefFan 02-17-2009 07:04 AM

Todd McShay copies everyone else and calls it his own. He's a douche.

I keep hearing on Sirius radio on how much upside Freeman has, and that there is no can't miss QB. Those are all next year. What if we took another key position in the 1st, Freeman in the 2nd, and if we miss take one of the other QBs next year?

Doesn't that sound like Pioli's past moves?

Josh Freeman isn't going to make it to the 2nd round.

I keep reading 2 names in most mock drafts, either Curry or Sanchez. Are there any other candidates for our 1st pick or does everyone pretty much think it will be one of the afore mentioned 2.

Hog's Gone Fishin 02-17-2009 08:36 AM

I just don't understand all the debate. we're picking Sanchez

missinDThomas 02-17-2009 08:56 AM

Pioli doesn't seem like a QB in the 1st round guy. He seems like a build in the trenches type of 1st rd guy.

RustShack 02-17-2009 09:14 AM

Where were JaMarcuss Russell and Joe Flacco projected to go before the combine? Thats whats going to happen to Freeman.

That is because he already had his first round guy in Bledsoe. Re-signed Bledsoe to a $103 million dollar contract one year after they drafted Brady. So he is most definately a 1st round QB type of guy.

Flacco was a 2nd rd pick that jumped up the boards.

Russell from what I remember was always listed as a top 10 pick.

Pioli came to the Patriots when Brady was already the starter. And before then they had Bledsoe, remember. There was no reason for him to EVER draft QB in the first round when he was with the Patriots.

He IS a smart football guy and knows that the Chiefs have no QB. It doesn't make sense for him to not pull the trigger.

From kcchiefs.com...

"Pioli served as the Patriots Vice President of Player Personnel from 2002-08 after originally joining the franchise in 2000."

Doh.

Well, that only further proves my point. The Patriots had a franchise QB in Bledsoe already and they lucked into Tom Brady.

It's stupid to think that Pioli thinks he can pull another Tom Brady out of his hat.

I don't get that either. Everyone looks at the Patriots and sees "won Super Bowls with a 6th round QB" when what they should see is "won Super Bowls with a HOF QB."

There is no such thing as a "can't miss" QB in the draft, but anyone that thinks that the spread QBs coming out next year are going to better prospects that the two QBs coming out this year that have played in a pro style offense is an idiot.

Freeman will be a late 1st rounder like JP Losman, Jason Campbell type.

It may take longer for a Bradford or McCoy to develop and learn to take snaps from center, but if Stafford's accuracy and decision making issues aren't correctable then the spread guys might be as good.

True, but you've got to admit that 2010 could have been a hell of a class. It could have been:

Stafford
Sanchez
Bradford
Tebow
McCoy
Freeman

plus what ever QBs distinguish themselves next year.

So basically 2010 would have been exactly like 2009, given that 2010 is full of shitbag spread monkeys.

Why did you list a TE with all those QBs?
