WTF is up with you people and diarrhea?

I was perusing Claythan's thread about eating Indian Food and I can't believe how many folks get the runs from eating food.

I don't know about everyone else, but I tend to only get loose poops when I'm sick (and even then, only rarely), not when I eat. If you get the squirts from eating anything other than exlax, I would recommend that you see a doctor.

So you never been out drinking all night then stopped by that one mexican joint that stays open for the drunks and serves cat burritos with extra hot sauce and that didn't give you the runs?

KcMizzou 02-18-2009 11:27 PM

I've got a stomach of steel. I've been known to have jalapenos with breakfast.

(I never understood what the time of day has to do with anything.)

The only thing that ever really gave me the runs was too much cheap beer.

Heh... pretty random, but I was at a hotel a few weeks ago, and they had jalapenos on the menu for the omelet bar, so I ordered them. Not only did the guy in front of me say something, the cook gave me a strange look and was like "uh, alright". WTF would you have them listed on the menu if nobody ordered them?

I thought it was strange, because I've never understood the time thing either... I'll order pop at breakfast, too, which people think is weird.

As for the sh*ts, well, it happens... but I eat a lot of crap.

Wait, that probably doesn't look right... :hmmm:

I'm more apt to get diarrhea from not eating than I am from eating.

I'm weird like that.

I think its normal. I mean, if a dog changes his food, he'll have stomach troubles. And I don't think we as people were made to eat different foods all at once. Before 200 years ago, you ate the same type of food all the time cause that's all there was. But now that you can have a hamburger one day, a burrito the next, and goulash after that, our stomachs are all like, "DUDE!"

Cheap beer didn't give me the runs either...

Love me some hot food. As a kid, I would take peanut butter and tobasco sauce sandwiches on toast to school for my lunch.

If you give your dog chocolate, he dies. I don't think it is normal; I eat different types of food all the time and that doesn't give me the squishies.

that's some strange shit.

NewChief 02-19-2009 05:38 AM

I'm with the OP. I eat a wide, wide variety of food, and I rarely get the squirts. Maybe a little soft sometimes, but true colon blow runs only hit me if I've got a stomach virus or food poisoning.

Iowanian 02-19-2009 07:47 AM

Get your gall bladder removed.

Some days, you can get the scours from too much butter on toast.

kc rush 02-19-2009 07:54 AM

Since I'm lactose intolerant I'll get the runs if I don't take medicine with dairy.

The other time I seem to get it is if I've been eating healthier for a while and then eat a greasy meal or go from eating a lot of crappy foods to healthy foods. I usually get back on track fairly quickly.

I used to be like that until I stopped eating gluten (wheat, barley or rye).
