mikey23545 03-02-2009 06:02 PM

Like all living things, love?

Bwana 03-02-2009 06:03 PM

A one way road trip?

Frazod 03-02-2009 06:03 PM

By whining, do you mean it wants attention, or just howls?

unlurking 03-02-2009 06:04 PM

It's probably in heat.

booger 03-02-2009 06:04 PM

like all pooosies it wants licked.

booger 03-02-2009 06:05 PM

it may help if you quit sticking your finger in its butt

KCCHIEFS27 03-02-2009 06:05 PM

Umm..needs water, needs attention or it could be sick?

Wa-Z 03-02-2009 06:10 PM

Well, even when it gets attention it whines, like 2 minutes after.

Maybe it is sick. Have your roommate take it to the vet. It's his/her responsibility.

Ya, I was thinking the same thing, the only thing I can think of is he wants to go outside..but last time he ran out he didn't come back, rather got found by the animal shelter and gave a nice little fine too.

Demonpenz 03-02-2009 06:14 PM

try taking away the toys sometimes they have an odd reaction to one of the toys, like they think it is real or something. We used to have this one mouse that the cat would just meow at all night long

Frazod 03-02-2009 06:15 PM

It might be lonely, too. Perhaps you should get another cat.

And I'm serious, we have three of them.

You'll need a cat carrier to take it to the vet. Anybody got a pic of one?

:doh!:

Fish 03-02-2009 06:34 PM

If it's a male, they are quite a bit more vocal. Especially if it's an only cat.

That's pretty much it. Maybe add food to the list.

I think it's more of an attention thing. Tie a string to the back of your belt and run around the house. Or pretend you're a limping antelope. My cat loves the limping antelope game.

BWillie 03-02-2009 06:51 PM

By far and large, cats make much much much less noise than dogs. My roommate has a dog and it parks all the time. Runs around all the time and makes noise constantly.

a well trained dog won't bark. the only time my dog makes a sound is when someone is at the door, or one of the black neighbors is walking through my yard. a dog that runs around barking and is always hyper needs to be exercised. cats on the other hand are untrainable. i don't care how many times i throw my roomate's cat against a wall, she still comes in my room and ****s with my computer and/or stereo wires. nope, i'm afraid the only answer to your problem has already been mentioned.

anti freeze.

Zebedee DuBois 03-02-2009 07:23 PM

It wants to run free and frolic at the farm.

Any farm.

memyselfI 03-02-2009 07:35 PM

Did the whining start recently or is this something that the cat has done before? Is the cat spayed or neutered? Is the cat peeing outside of the box or have you noticed blood in the box or in the urine? Is the cat eating and drinking normally? Are they vomiting or have any other symptoms besides the whining? Have you changed food or litter recently?

What breed is the cat? If it's Siamese or one of the 'talking' breeds then you will have to adjust because cats are nocturnal and thus they will talk and be active in the evening.

All very good questions. One more. Do you tr reaching down and petting it? Cats are like women. They purr when you give them the proper attention. :D

I think you found your answer. He wants to go outside and play. Yep, let him outside.

Cats are very much like women hence the "p" word. :hmmm:

I used to work in a vet's office so I know which questions we would ask people who would call in with this complaint.

Deputies say man stuffed cat inside 'bong'
By the Lincoln Journal Star
Monday, Mar 02, 2009 - 04:49:26 pm CST

A man who apparently tried to mellow out his cat by stuffing her into a homemade bong is facing criminal charges — and catcalls from animal lovers.

Lancaster County Sheriff’s deputies went to the home Acea Schomaker shares with his grandfather at 5700 Saltillo Road Sunday morning on a domestic disturbance call, said Sgt. Andy Stebbing.

Deputies resolved the dispute and left the house, but returned minutes later after discovering there was an arrest warrant on Schomaker for possession of drug paraphernalia, Stebbing said.

When they went back in, he said, the deputies said they saw Schomaker, 20, smoking marijuana through a piece of garden hose attached to a duct-taped, 6-by-12-inch plexiglass box, into which the cat had been stuffed.

“This cat was just dazed,” Stebbing said. “She was on the front seat of the cop car, wrapped in a blanket, and never moved all the way to the humane society.”

Deputies said Schomaker told them the 6-month-old kitten, named Shadow, had been hyper and he was trying to calm her down.

Shadow was taken to the Capital Humane Society, where she was in good shape on Monday, Executive Director Bob Downey said.

“What the human mind doesn’t invent, huh?” Downey said.

Schomaker did not return voice or text messages left on his cell phone by The Associated Press.

He was cited for misdemeanor animal cruelty and taken to Lancaster County Jail on the arrest warrant. He was released after paying a $400 fine.

Now he faces new charges for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia stemming from Sunday.

Stebbing said the animal cruelty charge could be raised to a felony if the cat dies or is found to have suffered injury.

Downey said tests would be done to determine whether the cat suffered lung damage.

“To the eye, the cat looks OK,” he said. “It cowers in the back of its cage like it’s a little bit afraid but, obviously, given the way it’s been treated, that’s not surprising to me at all.”

It probably just wants you to get up. They don't like being the only ones that are awake.

I had chinese today, and I swear there was something in one of my "Chicken dishes" that looked exactly like a claw. Unfortunately, I didn't find it until I bit down on something hard. When we left there was a cat clinic across the street.

Hammock Parties 03-02-2009 08:59 PM

Man I was hoping it was a REAL bong...you'd have to break some of that cat's little bones to get it stuffed in one of those.

I have a cat, if he's doing it in front of the window or by the door and he's a housecat he's likely seeing or smelling another cat and wants to go out...mine does it sometimes.
