Sounds charming:

On November 9, 2006 Barnes was arrested for speeding (101mph) down J. Turner Butler Boulevard, and driving under the influence of alcohol. The license plate on the Barnes' 2007 silver Mercedes had also expired. He spent several hours in the Duval County jail before being released on $500 bond. Barnes was benched for the next game against the Houston Texans. Barnes called the white officer who pulled him over a racist and said the officer was a "KKK devil who hates all colored people". [1] Barnes later apologized in a letter to the officer blaming his statement on stress. On July 11th Barnes was sentenced to six months probation, pay $650 in fines and court costs, perform 50 hours of community service, attend a drunken driving class and have his driver's license suspended for six months.

If this has happened, we know why the deal in Chokeland failed. However Wikipedia isn't a completely iron-clad source IMO.

Just from watching that vid of him speaking and walking, he doesn't seem that drunk at all to me. Interesting dude I am sure. lol

Like I said I had my doubts that this was happening and Wikipedia was scooping Schfter, or any other Sports networks.

So where did you guys see this was on WIKI? Because I doubt you both just happened to be on his page and see this at the same time.

The guy is a tool. A year later while on probation in 2007 with a suspended license, Barnes drove through a yard, crashed into a tree and left the accident scene which was at the entrance of his subdivision. After the police discovered his car the next morning, Barnes initially called the police and reported his car stolen. Then he called them back and told them that it wasn't stolen and that he fell asleep behind the wheel while driving to the football stadium at 5:30 in the morning. Of course there was no practice going on that day because it was a Saturday morning of the Jags bye week, but the whole incident got swept under the rug and charges were not filed even though it was obvious that he had been out drinking and wrecked his car under the influence.

Kevin Shaffer, right tackle for Cleveland Browns just released. Played at Tulsa. He is 6'5", 315 lbs and just turned 29 years old.

BleacherReport also mentioned Barnes signing with KC but I cannot find it any other place so I suspect this is NOT true.

I checked this last night and checked the edits.
IIRC it was changed on Sunday or Monday of this week according to the edit history.

I figure it is BS because someone besides a Wikki author would have heard it by now.

IMHO.

I hope we sign this guy. Aside from the <strike>speeding</strike> being the worst driver in history, he rules.

I'm 100% serious. Also, the team should mic him up, then put highlights of his best moments on the web each week.

Welcome to the minority. I think if we signed Barnes and slid him to the right side, he'd be in the pro bowl in 2010.
