Cardinals shopping Boldin
CARDINALS SHOPPING BOLDIN
Posted by Mike Florio on March 12, 2009, 3:59 p.m. Kurt Warner might get to keep his $2 million, after all. A league source tells us that the Arizona Cardinals are shopping receiver Anquan Boldin to potential trade partners. Warner recently has suggested that he’d devote a portion of his salary to signing Boldin to a new contract. (We don’t think Warner really means it.) Boldin, a six-year veteran, is signed through 2010. He has wanted for roughly a year a significant increase from his current range of $2.5 million to $3 million. With teammate Larry Fitzgerald at $10 million per year, Boldin is believed to want at least $9 million annually. Boldin previously has requested a trade. At one point after the Super Bowl, Boldin said that he would not sign a new deal with the Cardinals, and that he wanted to be dealt to a new team. More recently, he had softened in his position, expressing a willingness to consider a new long-term contract to stay with the team. |
TRADE ALL OUR PICKS FOR HIM!! OMG!!
|
Yeah and the rumor is that they want a Roy Williams type deal. 1st, 3rd and 6th round picks.
|
I was thinking a 4th this year and a conditional 3rd next year. If he is a significant addition to our team and we make the playoffs, we move it to a 2nd, if he is a significant addition to our team and we win the superbowl, we give them a 1st.

If it was a 3rd this yr and a 4th next year or even vice-a-versa I would do it in a heart beat.

They should get atleast the Williams deal, he's better than Williams.

I would also buy a Mercedes for 30 grand under book value. So would everyone. Get ****ing real. |
The Eagles need him and the Giants would go to the Super Bowl if they had him.
|
Boldin will never be as good with another team as he is with The Cards! Watch.

Obviously you weren't here for that. Please feel free to go **** off. |

With an elite wideout like Larry Fitzgerald, you could stick Corky from "Life Goes On" in Boldin's place and still not miss a step on offense.
|
We gotta keep our draft picks.
|
3rd Rounder and TG or LJ but not both.

While I don't think we should be trading any more picks this year(unless we get some back through other trades), I would not be upset in the least if Boldin was traded to the Chiefs. Like the Cassel/Pioli connection, you know Haley knows AB better than anybody else, and if he really wants to bring him to his team, I would be very happy to see Boldin catching passes from our new Quarterback.
|
I think we all forget that Haley and Boldin didn't exactly look chipper with one another on the sidelines of the NFC Championship Game. Granted, it was one game and emotions were running high....but still....not a good sign.
|
Trade Larry and a 4th for him.
|
The only folks who seriously think Boldin is going to end up here are the few folks on the earth who think the Saints got a steal in the Ricky Williams deal.

Boldin is no where near as good as Fitz.... he doesn't deserve a contract anywhere near him.
Personally I think he will flop wherever he goes. |

Boldin was a stud before Fitz ever got there. |

I just have a gut feeling Boldin will not have as good of a career as Fitz. He will be traded for good money, and not produce like he is getting paid to do. IE: Larry Johnson and a million other players that receive big contracts. While I know the dude needs to get paid... it seems like he has a love for money, not a love for the game. |

OK so why do people freak out so much when you talk about trading decent draft picks? All draft picks are like 50/50 chance of them being at all worth their salt regardless of round...then you end up paying them what proven NFL players get. Is it the draft day buzz or what? I would jump on the opportunity to get Boldin or other proven, relatively young NFL players. I'm an advocate for building both through draft and the free agency. But Boldin is a sick talent....like a brilliant receiver, tight end, and half back wrapped into one. There is not a better possession receiver in the league. I just don't think that Haley would be too keen on getting him. Just sayin...curious for draft response.

Boldin would be a great addition because we really need a burner opposite Bowe.
It's too bad Boldin has questionable hands, though. And it would be better if he were willing to go across the middle. |
he goes across the middle doesn't he? I thought that was how he got his face smashed.

He got hurt crashing into the wall after a TD catch, cause he couldn't slow down. |
Throw LJ into the deal to keep our #1 pick and you have a deal. They need a HB, and Haley already knows what he's getting out of Boldin.
