The Bears acquired quarterback Jay Cutler today for No. 1 draft picks in 2009 and 2010, a No. 3 pick this year and Kyle Orton, the Sun-Times has learned.
The Bears receive the Broncos' fifth-round draft pick this year.

Cutler, 25, is coming off a Pro Bowl season with the Broncos, but he became disgruntled and wanted a trade after learning Denver was considering a deal for quarterback Matt Cassel.

And as such, we are shown the difference between a franchise quarterback (two firsts, a third, and a game manager) and a system quarterback (a second).

This. I'm not so thrilled now about the whole situation, Denver really got over on them IMO. Orton played pretty decent at times last year with a who's who of recievers in Chicago. Denver has a ton of picks now.

The part that sucks for me, is Orton is an Iowa born guy and I'd like to root for him...No he's a donkey, I think I'll drive over and egg his parents house.

If they get anything out of Chris Williams at LT next year, that is one of the top 3 teams in the NFC.

They just got a franchise QB, a commodity that they haven't had since Sid ****ing Luckman, and he's pretty much a local (Santa Claus, IN), and he's on a very reasonable contract.

People are ****ing tards man, we got people saying Cutler sucks, people saying Cassel is better people being pissed their team actually made a move for a young franchise type QB...

Like I said the other day, average NFL fan is dumb.

Regardless of his attitude, he is a young Pro-Bowl QB. Two mid-to-late firsts and a 3rd (with a 5th going to the Bears) doesn't sound unreasonable.
