Maualuga Visiting Chiefs Tomorrow

Maualuga Visiting Chiefs Tomorrow

In what could be a sign that the Chiefs are preparing for a possible trade down from the No. 3 overall pick, they’ll be hosting linebacker Rey Maualuga on Thursday, a league source tells us.

Maualuga is regarded as one of the top prospects at inside linebacker, but it would be a major surprise if he were a top five (or even a top ten) selection.

Maualuga’s other visits include trips to see the Browns, Dolphins, Chargers, Titans, Falcons, Saints, 49ers, and Rams.

Get ready for a trade that nets us some picks.

I can definitely can see KC picking English mid to late first rounder, but is their anything information concerning a Cushing visit?

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-08-2009 10:10 PM

English would be such an awful pick in the middle of the round.

Is it me or on this board do we have 1st round grades on about 60 players?

This draft is full of solid players, but no real elite talent outside some of the OT's so essentially it's an even slope through the 1st and 2nd round.

First the guy from Cinci, and now you think English is worth a mid first rounder?

Dear ****ing lord.

Rey cometh...

Like I said it's pretty much an even slope this year not one player has separated themselves from the pack.

Mecca 04-08-2009 10:57 PM

Guys like English and Barwin should be considered fringe 1st round more likely 2nd round picks than middle of the 1st round picks.

Those guys should not even be included in the "pack".

They are early second rounders being extremely generous.

They are nowhere near mid-first level talent. I think they both can be decent pros, but obviously you have a different expectation.

Even guys like Rey and Cushing haven't really done anything mindblowing that seperated themselves either they could go mid first or late 1st round. This year is just weird with the prospects available it could go either way.

Pretty darn refreshing to see them do their "due dilligence" at talking to numerous players, just in case the scenerio is correct for them to draft them.

I wonder if this wasn't part of the problem with the Carl administration.

One choice, specifically, the Siavii deal. Remember they traded out of their pick with Detroit, then San Diego took their targeted choice.
So they then took Siavii, and I wonder if they had even ever talked to the guy, let alone have him in for a visit.

Rey would be a solid pick, he could be an above average LB for years...

USC players are usually hit or miss when it comes to performance.

People should love the Siavii pick. Not only did we trade down to pick up more picks, but we used our picks to shore up our horrible defense.
