Maualuga Visiting Chiefs Tomorrow
Maualuga Visiting Chiefs Tomorrow
Posted by Mike Florio on April 8, 2009, 10:28 p.m. In what could be a sign that the Chiefs are preparing for a possible trade down from the No. 3 overall pick, they’ll be hosting linebacker Rey Maualuga on Thursday, a league source tells us. Maualuga is regarded as one of the top prospects at inside linebacker, but it would be a major surprise if he were a top five (or even a top ten) selection. Maualuga’s other visits include trips to see the Browns, Dolphins, Chargers, Titans, Falcons, Saints, 49ers, and Rams. http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/ |
Larry English is also coming in.

Please God....tell me were trading down.

Get ready for a trade that nets us some picks.

English would be such an awful pick in the middle of the round.

Is it me or on this board do we have 1st round grades on about 60 players?

Like I said it's pretty much an even slope this year not one player has separated themselves from the pack. |
Guys like English and Barwin should be considered fringe 1st round more likely 2nd round picks than middle of the 1st round picks.

They are early second rounders being extremely generous. They are nowhere near mid-first level talent. I think they both can be decent pros, but obviously you have a different expectation. |

I wonder if this wasn't part of the problem with the Carl administration. One choice, specifically, the Siavii deal. Remember they traded out of their pick with Detroit, then San Diego took their targeted choice. So they then took Siavii, and I wonder if they had even ever talked to the guy, let alone have him in for a visit. |
Rey would be a solid pick, he could be an above average LB for years...
USC players are usually hit or miss when it comes to performance. |
