So much for Sprint having good customer service again...
The wife's phone takes a crap on Friday and the technician that I talk to says that they'll send out a BRAND NEW phone. I get the phone today and it's refurbished and the screen is crooked. That's right.....crooked. The damn thing dips down and to the left.
I call in and I've now talked to 8 people. Two people have told me that I will get a new phone....yet when I talk to a supervisor...they say that they can't send me a new phone. :cuss::cuss::cuss::cuss::cuss::cuss::cuss: **** Sprint. They treat potential customers 10 times better than they do the customers that they already have. |
Go to a sprint store and bitch at a manager. If they have a replacement in stock they should give it to you. They might not have the same phone in stock though in which case you will have to depend on the phone reps.

Every cell phone company has its problems... good luck finding one that doesn't. I would suggest going to a Sprint corporate store (not all stores are corporate ones... and there may not be one in your area even).. The corporate stores though will bend over backwards for everyone. FYI, you will rarely if ever get a NEW phone... most of the time they are refurbished. Oh, and I hope/assume you had insurance on it. |
I dumped those fools 6 years ago. Not surprised to see they haven't changed a bit. My phone used to drop calls regularly when I drove past their headquartes on Nall.

I know you don't get a new phone but considering I asked if it was new....and the guy said yes that it would be new.....multiple times. Two different ****ing people. How hard is it to send me a new phone because the one you sold me took a crap? You give them away for free to customers who sign up. It's not like I'm asking for a brand new ****ing Blackberry. It's a Palm Centro for christsakes. |
palm centro's have screen problems

Edit: I don't work at sprint but have a friend who is a store manager and has been with sprint for 5-7 years. |

I understand that. I used to work in Customer Service. |

Even if they don't have a like phone in stock, they should be able to give you a suitable replacement. |

Some of the Sprint affiliates will help, but as KC native said they are micromanaged and a lot of the times the technician in the store can't do much for you. (Btw, the wife works at one here in KC so I hear all of the venting from her. She works with some morons... including her boss.) |
Apparently in my area.....the only places that can switch out phones are the Repair Centers....so now I'm calling them.

I have no clue where to find the corporate ones, however, some are owned by an affliate, i.e. Wireless Lifestyles. They are held to standards, but not necessarily the same ones that the corporate ones are. These affliates have officials that come in and keep tabs on the stores, but even some of the Sprint people are bad about making sure everything is kept up to par. |

How hard is it to just send out a new phone? I've been with Sprint for over 4 years now. Seriously...the only reason I stay with them is because the Family Data Plan. |

Also, calmly stating how long you have been with them and how you would like to stay with them usually has some buying power. |

Or just tell them you will dump them if you dont get what u want??

If companies paid employees an actual living wage then they could reasonably expect more from their employees. They don't, and their employees don't, and it's still the companies responsiblity. While Sprint has been good to me as of late, this notion that some employees don't know what the hell they're doing has never held any weight with me. The solution is simple; hire competent, capable employees, and then pay them a wage that will encourage them to stick around for awhile. If you don't, and shit goes bad, I blame you.

I'm not letting this shit die. I WILL get a gatdamn new phone out of this deal.
I got ****ed a year ago because my Palm Treo (that I paid $300 for) took a shit....and all they would do was send me a refurbished phone. I got that one in the mail....and it proceeded to take a shit within the month. They refused to send me a new phone and I had to pay more money just to get a different phone. I'm not getting ****ed this time. Do you hear me Sprint? I'M NOT GETTING ****ED THIS TIME!!!!!! |
SECURITY!!!!!

Sprint sucks ass. So does Comcast. I hate them both.

I know people that hate Sprint and love X company. Personally, I've never had an issue with Sprint and wouldn't go anywhere else.

They've done the exact same thing to me before. They even went as far as to telling me that they will be sending a box in the mail with a pre-paid label for me to shop the re-furbished phone back to them, but that would take about 5-7 business days. 10 days later I call back in because no box ever came, turns out they flat out lied to me and no one even logged in their phone convo that I had even called. No box, no new phone, nothing, as if the initial phone call didn't even happen. I blew up at them and immediately asked to speak to an american (because they were all Ji-habs before) that spoke fluent english. Finally after almost 2 hrs get an american supervisor on the phone and he sent me a new phone like the damn contract says. So really, if you bitch enough, you can get your way, it just takes a few phone calls, which clearly explains why their lines are always backed up and busy, why holding time is crazy long, and why Sprint earlier a couple yrs ago paid for some of their customers to go away because they keep calling in hogging the lines, Now I can see why some people do it. |

Yeah, sure it did.... Guess ripping me off on my monthly bill isn't enough. As soon as my contract is over (July) I'm going to get an I-Phone and go ATT. |

Just out of curiousity, what store was it? Did you have insurance on the phone when it quit functioning? iPhone's aren't all that great either. They have a heck of a time provisioning those things. |

As far as Sprint goes, I'll never leave them as long as I have this fatty 27% discount on my service. Their customer service has improved tenfold from where it was 4 years ago when I first signed up. And frankly, I've discovered that the "fellate and berate" tactic generally works when trying to get what you want from a company. Fellate the rep, berate the company. |
Quote:
Yes, it was "insured." And they didn't let me have the original chip that came with the phone after they gave me back the 2GB chip they tried to rip off. Also, the whole deal took about an hour, should have been a 10 minute transaction. Just a real bad experience. I dumped Sprint Long Distance, and will probably dump them altogether when my contract runs out. I have two cell phones with them. Apple isn't perfect either, but much better than Sprint or Comcast. |

Sounds to me that you had a shitty store that you were dealing with. |
I don't know why people hate on sprint. They've been very good for me. And when they did screw up, I told them about it, and how I felt, and they fixed it.

I am a sprint geek/cell phone fanboy
I currently have the Sprint TouchPro and I have been putting custom roms on it but I think I have finally found one I am goin to stick with for awhile - its a stripped down build of Windows Mobile 6.5 - works pretty well. I have 2 Lines of Service with Sprint - the wife and I - we get 500 "anytime" Minutes each and Unlimited Everything else - our bill is $90 total after taxes and insurance. I will be sticking with sprint as long as they let me keep my plan They even gave me a free "Airrave" ($100 Value) for my house because I told them I get no signal in my basement. Quote:
