NFL Network: Rams have purchased a plane ticket for Sanchez for sunday morning

...to Rams Park-Steve Wyche(Path to the Draft). Plane tickets are cheap compared to the millions they will be spending.

My sources tell me they already have a Segway parked outside of the airport, waiting for him.

Mecca 04-24-2009 04:14 PM

I wouldn't be overly surprised if they took Sanchez...

Buck 04-24-2009 04:15 PM

AKA They are getting ready to trade their pick.

LaChapelle 04-24-2009 04:16 PM

The plane ticket money is half of what they'll spend on the war room lunch tomorrow. :)

Buck 04-24-2009 04:19 PM

Southwest $379 one way.

The Bad Guy 04-24-2009 04:19 PM

I believe they'll take him.

That would leave the Chiefs absolutely stuck at 3.

CupidStunt 04-24-2009 04:20 PM

Brilliant smokescreen.

the Talking Can 04-24-2009 04:21 PM

CaliforniaChief 04-24-2009 04:21 PM

And now begins the unending speculation on the location of Clark Hunt's private jet.

Rigodan 04-24-2009 04:23 PM

The NFLN guy came on like 5 minutes later and said all indications pointed to Jason Smith being the pick. WTF?

Maybe they are trying to force KC's hand.

They trade the #2 (2600 Pts) to KC for the #3 (2200 Pts) Plus 2 lower round picks.

The Bad Guy 04-24-2009 04:24 PM

If we stay at 3, I'd be happy with Curry, Crabtree or Raji.

Absolutely no way that I could be sold on Tyson Jackson at 3.

And then the Chiefs trade w/ the Redskins who take Sanchez, and St Louis gets whoever they wanted at 3.

This can't be. No way. I refuse to believe it!

WE WERE SUPPOSED TO DRAFT SANCHEZ!

Trade up, Pioli. Trade up.

Sensationalizing. The rest of the league is catching on to the ways of Nick Athan.

Brock 04-24-2009 04:29 PM

But but I've been assured by the Chiefs planet braintrust that Sanchez isn't worth a top 10 pick.

Mecca 04-24-2009 04:30 PM

Apparently the entire league has a crush on Sanchez now...

Lets see the nuts jokes about all of the NFL.

Marcellus 04-24-2009 04:31 PM

I honestly think nobody has any ****ing clue what is going to happen after Stafford is picked #1.

Nobody has a clue who KC wants if they can't move down. It will be interesting folks. It will be interesting.

I know a former first round draft pick. The hour after he was selected, the NFL team had a private plane waiting for him to fly to that city where he had a helicopter ride around the city. I highly doubt St. Louis will purchase a ticket on a normal airline.

True. For all we know the reason Stafford isn't signed, is because someone is in love with him and want to trade up. Unlikely..

keg in kc 04-24-2009 04:40 PM

This draft's going to be a nightmare for me if we end up stuck at 3. Not that it's our own fault really if the Rams pull something like this, but we just can't afford to only have a single day 1 pick.

jaa1025 04-24-2009 04:42 PM

They wouldn't purchase a ticket for him...they would fly him out on a private jet.

JamesDean 04-24-2009 04:42 PM

what would be our move? draft crabtree and trade waters and our (atl)2010 pick for ???

Rain Man 04-24-2009 04:43 PM

A ticket to St. Louis? Maybe they're trying to get him killed.

Marcellus 04-24-2009 04:45 PM

Nah, #1 pick gets flown in on a private plane; #2 has a plane ticket bought for them; #3 pick gets a bus ticket (Pioli has been spotted down at the Greyhound station so we know we aren't trading down). Everyone else in the draft has to bum a ride or carpool.

Yeah, and Ryan Sims was the consensus #1 DT. These guys aren't making huge mistakes unless they talk themselves into believing something that isn't true.

Ryan and Flacco had a ton of success last year, Big Ben a couple years ago. Teams don't want to miss out on that. They are convincing themselves that Sanchez is worth it. Good for them.

I like him more now than a couple months ago, but still glad the Chiefs won't take him. I would love to see him end up in Denver.

No kidding.

You get drafted as a franchise QB and your team puts you on Delta? How bush league would that be?

He'll go from NY straight to wherever he's headed.

Wyche isn't any better at this than he was a coaching

rtmike 04-24-2009 08:08 PM

Will he be in New York?

I thought that the NFLN said the ticket was from California to St. Louis?

ChiefsCountry 04-24-2009 08:12 PM

Sanchez isnt going to New York, he is staying in the LA for the draft.

SAM Wyche was the awful coach of the Bengals.

STEVE Wyche is a sports writer and has been for 20 years.

I don't understand why the Rams don't go to the Seahawks and offer to flip picks for extra picks. If Stafford goes to the Lions and Sanchez goes to the Seahawks and Chiefs pick Curry the Rams would still get Monroe or Smith at 4.

STL = Smith.

Thats what I think too.

Maybe the Seahawks dont want to do this for inner-divisional reasons.

Seems reasonable.

Because the Chiefs have been linked to Monroe and you can't trust the Seahawks not to take the OT at #2 with Walter Jones getting up there in age.

There is no way the Seahawks are trading up to 2, giving up what they would, to pick an offensive lineman. They would be doing it because they are sniffing the Sanchez glue like everyone else. And the Chiefs are not taking Monroe.

Not even an issue any longer. Mc Daniel has stated this morning that he is NOT relinquishing either of his 1st's for "any one player, Mark Sanchez included".
