LOL.

Ultra Peanut 04-25-2009 05:39 PM

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

You traded Jay Cutler for Robert Ayers.

Reaper16 04-25-2009 05:40 PM

Whatever helps you sleep at night.

kcchiefsus 04-25-2009 05:40 PM

Congrats, you added your millionth runningback to the roster and you got an overrated defensive end who can't rush the passer. Hell if you wanted a Tennessee defensive end who can't get to the passer we would have happily shipped Turk McBride out to Denver.

Ultra Peanut 04-25-2009 05:52 PM

You traded... you traded... you traded Jay Cutler for Robert Ayers and Alphonso Smith!

Josh McDaniels, that wily ol' horse trader. MF'er is shrewd.

Red Dawg 04-25-2009 06:08 PM

Moreno is nothing. I live in the south and he's not going to be worthy of where he was picked. He's strong and that's it. Short yardage at best. He will not leave anybody in the dust or break their ankles making a move.

With all the RB's they have on the roster right now, this was a waste of a pick.

I'll admit it does make me a bit nervous, as I generally respect Mayock's takes more than any of the other talking heads. So, in terms of taking BPA, the Broncos did well with those picks. Unfortunately, RB isn't exactly the position I would be drafting that high, and the rest of their moves of the day are highly questionable.

DeezNutz 04-25-2009 08:44 PM

If Moreno or Ayers don't work out, you can always hope McDaniels does better in round 1 next year.

Oh, wait...

htismaqe 04-25-2009 08:47 PM

Mayock absolutely LOVES Ayers. He might be a good player in the 4-3, but he's not a 3-4 fit.

Moreno is Adrian Peterson without the speed, but Moreno has better hands and is much better at pass blocking.

He will be a force under the tutelage of Bobby Turner.

Moreno is going to be a colossal bust. In no way, shape, or form does he compare to Adrian Peterson.

He's smaller, slower, and less shifty. Moreno was a very good college football player but I don't think he'll be as effective at the next level. He'd fit much better in Dungver's old zone blocking, 1-cut system.

LaChapelle 04-26-2009 07:51 AM

Cutler7624 is Denver's Baghdag Bob

Denver is still using the zone blocking scheme. The only coaches McDaniels kept on offense were our offensive line coach (Rick Dennison also was our offensive coordinator last year) and our running back coach (Bobby Turner, coached TD, Portis, Anderson, Gary, Griffin, Hillis....and on and on). McDaniels has said that we are going to use a lot of the ZBS.

If you don't see a stud RB in those videos you should just stop posting on a football message board because you are clueless.

Adrian Peterson is a punishing runner with breakaway speed. Peterson doesn't have good hands and he doesn't do a good job of pass protecting.

Knowshon Moreno is a punishing runner with great acceleration without breakaway speed. He has great hands, is a good pass protector, and has better balance than 99.9999% of NFL running backs.

He lacks top end speed, he lacks shiftiness, and wasn't worth a top 20 pick.

You can tout the pick all you want - if you're lucky, he'll be Deangelo Williams, AT BEST.

There is nothing special in those videos. He's a good college RB but in the pros I doubt it. He doesn't have one special tool that could make him a stud RB. Not enough speed to turn the corner in the NFL and I want to see him level an NFL safety/linebacker before we call him powerful.`

Are you crazy?!?!?! Moreno is great at making people miss. If you watch those videos I posted you would see that. It is 15 minutes of Moreno and you won't see the first guy tackle him ONCE.

He always makes the first guy miss and just knows where to go with the football. He has great instincts. He is the best all around RB to come out of the draft since LaDanian Tomlinson.

#1 in TDs, #2 in YPC, and #3 in total rushing yards?

His stiff arm and balance is LT'esque. After I watched those videos two weeks ago I was sold on Moreno. I'm not just saying that because we drafted him...

Quesadilla Joe 04-26-2009 08:28 AM

Moreno is also more durable than Peterson is.

He had a great season no doubt. In his 3rd season. And it's still only one year.

He averaged five yards a carry in 2007. It's not his fault his coach is reerunedly loyal to guys who are obviously done.

Bad example of limited upper ceiling aside, it's pretty obvious at this point that first round RBs are a luxury. DeAngelo/JStew is a great duo, but there are so many capable RBs out there that I couldn't ever really advocate taking one in the top 15 at this point.

I'll take that. It wasn't a great example.

At least Williams was a late 1st guy, like LJ. If you're gonna take a RB at #12, he better be beyond special. And Moreno aint' that.

It's not a fair comparison overall, but in terms of homerism, I've determined that cutler7624 is to ChiefsPlanet what GoChiefs is to the Orange Mane.

TheGuardian 04-26-2009 09:35 AM

Moreno is going to be a bust. Put it in a sig that I said it.
