Anybody see who the Raiders selected

in the 2nd round Michael Mitchell Safety out of Ohio, Maylock said he had him projected in the 7th round LMAO

chiefs1111 04-25-2009 08:06 PM

Yeah I really laughed my ass off at that one

htismaqe 04-25-2009 08:14 PM

The guy was rated so highly, he doesn't even have a profile on NFL.com.

If you look at the 2nd round draft tracker, there's a gap at the Raiders' spot because they don't list his height, weight, or school. ROFL

BigRock 04-25-2009 08:16 PM

Kiper said at least a few teams had him as a UDFA.

Boomer couldnt find his name in the draft prospect book.

The Chiefs seem to continue improving by avoiding implosion.

Raiders continue to crumble, if a pile of shit can crumble anymore.

Broncos have fragmented pretty bad after Cutler trade, maybe they can bounce back.

San Diego just doesnt seem to have it, not sure what it is.

Chiefs are scary talent wise really, but they just seem to be picking up steam, and appear to have coherent direction and coaches.

Molitoth 04-25-2009 09:02 PM

I'm guessing he has a nice 40 time....WTG Al.

whoman69 04-25-2009 09:25 PM

With Carl Pederson out of the picture, someone in the AFC West has to greatly overshoot in the second round. The fact that they took probably the fifth best receiver in the top ten shows that organization is controlled entirely by the bony hand of Al Davis.

My neighbor is a die hard Raiders fan. When I saw the DHB pick I went next door to laugh at him and he took it pretty well.

When they drafted Mitchell I ran over and the door was locked and he never answered. LOL

I'm a Terps fan and so of course a DHB fan. But if the Chiefs had selected him 7th I'd have been quite thoroughly pissed.

Their 2nd pick didn't register on cbssports for a while. That's cause they didn't have any info on him. I hadn't been watching the TV coverage but I had to turn on ESPN to see wtf had happened.

He's listed in the "GM Jr" draft book as the 42nd best Safety in the class out of 43. I love Al Davis

Mecca 04-25-2009 09:46 PM

That's their very own William Bartee.

Seriously, what the hell is going on in Oakland?

There are teams that are bad, then you have Oakland who has been basically flatlined for the better part of a decade. The first round pick was a huge reach, but not exactly a surprise. But spending a 2nd on a guy who might have been undrafted?

It's not right, they are defiling the NFL with the way their organization is run.

Sure we benefit from it, but it's really kind of sad that an organization so tied into the history of the league is just beyond a joke now. They draft like they are throwing darts, their roster is just pathetic to begin with. They can't even find coaches who will take the job.

It's just sad. I almost wish they were better because their patheticness is hard to watch

MLB stepped in when Finley was dismantling the A's. Soon the NFL will have to step in and kill Davis.

It sounds horrible, but the best thing to happen to that franchise will be the day Al Davis croaks. The dude is just completely out of his mind. It's good for us, but kind of sad at the same time. It's like being in a contest against a crippled kid. You know you can beat him, but it's just not as much fun.

Bowser 04-25-2009 10:47 PM

This without a doubt trumps our Trezelle Jenkins fiasco.

Corporations often step in and kill off franchises that are hurting the main core. It seems the NFL would have some sort of laws or codes in place to protect it from a complete ****ing corpse from ruining the NFL with horrible contracts and terrible draft picks. Al has effectively ruined about 30 NFL careers alone.

If a team needs to be moved to LA, it is that shithole of a team. Al Davis deserves nothing in compensation for it either. He needs to be beaten with his catheter tube, and then shot. Problem solved.

BigOlChiefsfan 04-26-2009 01:11 AM

I'll bet Al makes 'em pay to televise his death. Then insists on a media blackout in Oakland.

The Raiders to LA is more likely when Davis passes. His son doesn't want to run the team. The guy building the stadium in LA (Roski) wants to own a team. AD doesn't want to sell.

If Roski is able to buy the Rams, Jags or Saints then I could see him renting his stadium to the Raiders for additional revenue.

LA would be a 2 team city again.

When I lived in SF the Raider stories on the local radio cracked me up.

APPARENTLY - Davis stays up late and gets to work late. This proved to be an issue when he wanted to can Kiffin because practice was over by the time Davis got to work. Kiffin was gone. Hard to fire someone who isn't there.

Another radio story was that JaMarcus Russell was known to be lazy. The coaches started to get the idea that he wasn't watching the dvd game films they were giving him so they gave him a blank dvd. The next day they asked him if he watched film and he said he did.

Tim Brown was on a show and was livid that Russell takes a check and doesn't do the work.

Don't forget about #1 draft picks in this decade - Derrick Gibson, Michael Huff, Fabian Washington, Robert Gallery (#3 overall) , Philip Buchanon, Nap Harris, and DRUM ROLL Sebastian Janikowski!

Gibson = gone
Huff = trying to get rid of
Washington = gone
Gallery = not good
Buchanon = gone
Harris = gone
Janikowski = kicker...and the best of all of them.

You know, it really makes me feel better about being a Chiefs fan.

In October after week 4 we will be able to add JaMarcus Russell to the list when he gets replaced by Garcia.

googlegoogle 04-26-2009 03:02 AM

Who will then get replaced by Mike Mitchell.
