We had an extra-inning game get suspended today, which doesnt happen very often. When a game is rained out it usually gets cancelled and rescheduled (before the game becomes official in the 5th) or someone wins if it is official. The Washington-Houston game was tied in the top of the 11th when it got washed out, which means they had to suspend it. That game will be played at the exact same score and situation (top of the 11th, tied 10-10) on July 9.

WoodDraw 05-05-2009 05:14 PM

Davis could use a good start here. At some point, we'll need to figure out what to do with 3-5 in the rotation.

WilliamTheIrish 05-05-2009 05:20 PM

Pete: Shut up.

yeah, he hasn't looked to great since his first start (which was against the white sox, i believe).

hopefully the white sox will get him back on track.

If he would just not throw the ball in the dirt his pitches would have a much better chance of being strikes.

Just a thought.

I don't mind Davis as much as some. Sure he's not the best, but I've heard way worse game calls. As far as the rotation, Davies and Bannister are confidence guys and can be solid in the middle to back end. Ponson though is another story.

Rules...meh!

CaliforniaChief 05-05-2009 06:00 PM

Who's Davis? Storm? Mark? Or are we speaking of Kyle Davies?

Dartgod 05-05-2009 06:10 PM

All right. Let's go Royals!

alnorth 05-05-2009 06:11 PM

1st inning

Top 1st

Getz grounds out to second

petegz28 05-05-2009 06:14 PM

What happened? Did he hit a batter?

petegz28 05-05-2009 06:16 PM

And now a walk......Davies still can't seem to be consistent.

WilliamTheIrish 05-05-2009 06:17 PM

Hit Dye on the hand. ANd then AJP in the jaw. I still haven't forgiven that c'cksucker Ed Framer for nearly killing Al Cowens.

Dartgod 05-05-2009 06:18 PM

SIT YOUR ASS DOWN!

WilliamTheIrish 05-05-2009 06:19 PM

Dye's hand is weak. That swing and the check swing prior to that were terrible.

KCUnited 05-05-2009 06:20 PM

Change looks good tonight.

Sure-Oz 05-05-2009 06:20 PM

KCUnited 05-05-2009 06:37 PM

JC, we got some unathletic ****ing ballboys.

God damn, Davies, WTF?

Mr. Krab 05-05-2009 06:50 PM

"I'm gonna see how many homers i can give up in one game" Davies

KCUnited 05-05-2009 06:50 PM

Meat.

petegz28 05-05-2009 06:50 PM

Well, dare I say it......

Game
Over

Dartgod 05-05-2009 06:51 PM

Well, at least Farnsworth will get some work tonight.

DeezNutz 05-05-2009 06:51 PM

Davies has been trending poorly the last couple of starts. Continued evidence of that tonight.

Jethopper 05-05-2009 06:51 PM

Hes an ok number 3

KCCHIEFS27 05-05-2009 06:52 PM

Davies is our number 3. That's pretty cool.

Hmm...I don't think this is going to continue to be true.

As I said in an earlier thread, I think Hoch will end up taking the #3 spot by the end of the year, followed by Bannister and then Davies.

VonneMarie 05-05-2009 06:55 PM

When are we going to call Hoch-whatever up?

i would say(hoping) you are right

Jenson71 05-05-2009 06:56 PM

:(

Davies is a weak #4 or servicable #5 at best. His problem continues to be the same as it always has. No consistency.

DeezNutz 05-05-2009 06:57 PM

Davies and Bannister might as well be brothers. Very similar pitchers.

petegz28 05-05-2009 06:57 PM

Damn, Tejeda already warming up and it isn't even the 4th inning

petegz28 05-05-2009 06:58 PM

Ok, well it would be nice to get some of those things they call hits.

KevB 05-05-2009 06:59 PM

That Texas game was the beginning of this bad stretch. He got out of a bunch of jams, but walked 5. He's been inconsistent in and out of the zone since, and it's being reflected in his numbers. This is the Davies that the world has known outside of last September and the first 2 starts this year. He really needs to right the ship, or he could easily devolve back into Davies, Quadruple A starter.

chiefbowe82 05-05-2009 07:00 PM

Davies curve, when on, can generate some K's. Bannister doesn't have a finisher, even on his best day IMO.

KCCHIEFS27 05-05-2009 07:01 PM

Damn AC is dominating at the plate right now..

petegz28 05-05-2009 07:01 PM

Rany mentioned that there wasn't a single reason that Callaspo isn't hitting 3rd, and he's right on. Right now, Callaspo is everything at the plate we want DeJesus to be.

Just like all of our other hitters, however, I'm sure he'd wet as pants as soon as he was moved into the 3 hole.

Yeah, I don't think I'd move him up personally. Let him roll along, comfortable in his role.

Me likey much.

Ok Hillman, please do not make the Ponson mistake and let Davies keep going much longer. The kid has no control tonight.

alnorth 05-05-2009 07:14 PM

Davies will struggle to make it through 5 innings today. His pitch count is very high.
