TS just doesnt look that interesting to me.

No Arnold, No Cameron, McG as the director, PG13 rating.

the whole franchise has been watered down.....

You have to be ****ing kidding me. It's future war. It's terminators running around blowing up shit, giant terminators plucking humans off the ground, terminator BIKES zipping around and killing shit, human/terminator hybrids freaking out, and last but not least, legless terminators CLAWING THEIR WAY toward their targets.

Plus, it has Christian Bale.

It's going to OWN.

notorious 05-14-2009 11:03 AM

I flew down to Taos last year and my student and I decided to check out the Rio Grande. We found out that they were filming the new Terminator movie on the bridge over the Rio. Pretty cool watching how they do stuff.

Anyway, I hope that by getting rid of all the old characters they will be more creative this time around.

Yeah, I don't have big hopes either. The pg13 thing really irks me. Plus, I miss the Bale of old, not the big budget Bale. I'm really hoping they surpise me.

I remember loving the first two growing up but I couldn't make it through the third one. It just didn't do anything for me.

Maybe it's all the flash bang gee whiz of summer movies but I'm actually looking forward to seeing this one, hopefully it doesn't suck.

Pneuma 05-14-2009 11:40 AM

This video wasn't leaked....just marketing...same thing happened with Dark Knight.

anywayz the pg-13 rating is totally lame...boooo

I will wait for it on DVD.

Yea, i liked T3 too. Not as good as the first two, but it was decent. The ending was ballsy as well.

I figure this new one will be on that level as well. I just think its a tired franchise, but the future war thing should be cool i guess.

Outside of the video being a joke, I think this one will be good, not really good or great though. T3 was really good, T2 was great, this one is made by McG which I have never seen a movie by him that was a good investment in the theaters. This one could break that trend, but he's just not a great director. He approves of the flash and flare of cinema instead of the story and essence of the film.

Of course I will forever hate him for X3: Xmen United.

That was Brett Ratner. It's an understandable mistake.

Not really. I just like robots. They are cool. I'm a sucker for robots and dinosaurs. I can't recall ever NOT enjoying a movie that featured either robots or dinosaurs. And lord knows there have been some shitty robot/dinosaur movies.

The pinnacle of humanity will be a Dino Riders movie.

loses a sense of reality to me. like soldiers from an apocalyptic future, their entire lives having been destroyed by nuclear holocaust, all they know is survival from human killing machines aren't gonna let an f bomb slip once in a while.

Sure. But I don't really care either way. It's not going to ruin my enjoyment of the movie.

Its more about attitude and violence.

Think about all those great action flicks from the 80s: 48 hours, First Blood, Terminator, Aliens, Predator, Aliens, Robocop, Die Hard, Untouchables, Lethal Weapon, etc....

I'm interested but my wife's not. So I'll probably go alone one night.

Actually, doing that will save me at least $100 dollars (movie ticket, drinks, dinner & babysitter).

We spent $124 dollars to see "Star Trek" last weekend.

You're generally more difficult to please, than say, a guy like me, though...

When I think, "Holy shit! Sweet!" You think, "Meh... another CGI crapfest."

When I think, "I might not see it in the theater, but I'll get it on DVD!" You think, "Eh... Maybe when it hits the 5 dollar bin at Walmart."

Hollywood doesn't seem to care about violence these days. As long as it doesn't have extreme gore, it's PG-13.

Gore and Using 2 F-Bombs get you the R-Rating. You can have Nudity in every scene and it will still be PG to PG-13, depending on what kind of nudity is shown.

CG sucks balls in movies if it is trying to re-create something we see every day. For Sci-Fi and Fantasy CG works because our brains don't know what it's supposed to look like.

Your average episode of CSI or Bones has as much friggin gore as a 70s horror movie. Back in the day, you knew Quincy was doing some nasty shit to the corpse on the autospy table, but now you actually see them saw the skull apart and pull out the brain in one continuous shot, and it looks real. I honestly don't know how they get away with some of that shit.

I don't 100% go with reviews...

there are movies that did awesome and i thought were terrible and vice versa. I am a big terminator fan so i'll give it a shot. I just want to see some more good reviews and get it near 50-60%. Of course if it deserves it...
