Are you feeling good about being a KC Sports fan?

Looks like the Royals are turning things around. Pioli certainly looks as though he's got the Chiefs on the right track and will turn things around in a couple of seasons. MU football is doing well (as is KU football). And KU's got a helluva basketball team this year.

ARE YOU FEELING GOOD YET?!?!

milkman 05-20-2009 07:41 AM

I'll believe Pioli is turning things around when I actually see it.

As it stands now, from what I've seen, I don't believe it.

Saulbadguy 05-20-2009 07:48 AM

lol, no.

What would you have done differently than he did?

Does it matter?

No need in rehashing that same argument.

Demonpenz 05-20-2009 07:59 AM

I know it goes in cycles, but I hope it never gets as low as it did with quinn snyder era chiefs sucking, the royals sucking, nothing downtown, etc

True. PM me of you want to tell me. Not sure i ever read or remember your arguments.

kc rush 05-20-2009 08:06 AM

Cautiously optimistic.

bluehawkdoc 05-20-2009 08:27 AM

I was actually surprised at the mini seizure of jubilation I had watching the ninth inning comeback last night. Other than KU basketball, I haven't gotten that excited about area sports for quite awhile. So yeah, I am feeling gooood (in a cautiously optimistic sort-of-way).

Simply Red 05-20-2009 08:34 AM

Other than not addressing the 'O' line? besides that, I'm pretty happy. I still think they need to figure a way to protect the QB, better. But, I could be totally wrong.

tooge 05-20-2009 08:58 AM

Yeah, cautiously optimistic. I feel like in a year or two, we will have competitive sporting teams here year round.

The best year I can remember was 2003. Chiefs start 9-0 on their way to a 13-3 season. Jayhawks make it to 2nd straight Final Four, and championship game. Royals go into all-star break up 7.5 games in division and are the talk of baseball.

Of course, all of those things ended up collapsing, but it was pretty good while it lasted.

KU winning the Orange Bowl and hoops Championship in 2007-2008 as pretty sweet too.

CaliforniaChief 05-20-2009 09:13 AM

I'm just enjoying the Royals. And very optimistic about the Chiefs. There's no question that the state of Kansas City sports is on the way up.

Pioli Zombie 05-20-2009 09:29 AM

That's why it was worse than other years. It was all a giant cocktease. A cruel joke played on us by a malevolent God.

Pablo 05-20-2009 11:00 AM

Um..well..I'm a KU fan, so I'm pretty damn optimistic about this fall and winter.

The Chiefs have nowhere to go but up at this point, and the Royals are doing alright.

I almost jizzed myself last night watching Jacobs and Teahen hit back to back homers.

So, yes, I'm feeling much better about being a KC sports fan, relative to previous years.

88TG88 05-20-2009 11:16 AM

I'm glad I'm only a Chiefs fan. Baseball and basketball here is 10x better than KC.

You shut your filthy mouth you sonofabitch California guy.

Mama Hip Rockets 05-20-2009 11:38 AM

i am excited about the royals, but still very worried that they will implode at any moment.

the chiefs suck.

CoMoChief 05-20-2009 01:42 PM

I'm riding the feel good train about the Royals.

Chiefs will suck for about 2-3 yrs IMO. Sad to say this but this is what I think.

I'm also still riding the KU bball National Title wave and can not ****in wait for next year's squad. They are gonna be freakin nasty.

MU fball - only thing to look forward to is what Gabbert is going to do. Big 12 North overall is going to be interesting this season

Mu bball - **** 'em , buncha losers.

I'd rather have a great season without a championship than suck all year. I'll take a year's worth of joy followed by disappointment over nothing but frustration and indifference.

I'd rather have watch parties for the next big game than have people look at my weird when I say I'm going to watch the game. "You still watch THEM?! They suck!"

In the first half of the 1990's, I'd much rather have been a Buffalo Bills fan than a Cincinnati Bengals fan.

You don't know what that pain is. I do. You don't know the hurt.

I suffered through KU basketball in the early 90s and 2002-2003 seasons. I was there in the 90s and 2003 with the Chiefs. It was certainly disappointing, but was a fun ride until the end.

You don't know the pain of 4 consecutive national championship losses.
