What were you doing?
Partying like it was 1999.
Taking bong rips and drinking Jager.....man, I should go back to school...
I had just moved into my house...can't believe ten years got behind me. No one told me when to run, I missed the starting gun.
I was in 7th grade, probably listening to Korn.
Going nuts over Star Wars instead of girls.
Making about twice as much money as I make now.
But maybe 10% as happy as I am now. So that's a pretty fair trade, huh? |
IN JAIL..LOL..ONLY A FEW MONTHS ..****ING FIGHITING
graduating high school
Getting ready to leave one company that was close to failing to join a dot-com that eventually would fail.
We were also in the process of building a house. |
woops, thats 11 years ago. A decade ago I was finishing up a year of JUCO awaiting my infamous entrance to KU.
I think 10 years ago today was my first day at work out of college
I am not feeling real good. I thought my boys from the class from 99 where with me forever. Yeah we knew some chords and I had a shitty drum set. I had 1 go with a car crash, another accepted a bullet, I only got one to play drums and guitar for the reunion.
Ten years ago I was Somebody. Now, I'm just kind of a big deal around here.
Getting done with my junior year of HS. Probably working and looking into colleges and such.
Probably just got done jerking it to the Bikini Carwash Company.
When going out to the bars, a man should never give her the easy one. |

That's sound advice, especially for the younger crowd. |
I was in the 7th grade.
10-years ago I was probably drunk somewhere chasing gina' in either Hays or Lawrence (I was at both spots a lot). A lot of partying and little class work time. Now I want to shoot 10-years in the head for what it put me in now. Drunk, sucky job, and chasing no gina'!!!!!

May of 99, just got back to the states from 3 years in Germany, Discharged from active duty Army, working at Home Depot, Looking for my first house with my first wife. My oldest was was about to turn 2, my youngest was only 4 months old. I was applying to several police departments in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.
Wow, what ten years will do to you..... |
Summer before my senior year, first summer driving, best summer ever, till I turned 21. lost virginity too.
I dont htink much has changed since 1999, comparing 1989 to 1999. this song takes my back to that time <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/WLTTCZUEbp0&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/WLTTCZUEbp0&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> nevermind the anime, only embed available. |
I was also in 7th grade. In May, I would have been killing teams out at 3&2 on the baseball diamond.
Let's see... I was probably thinking "Damn, it's 5 months until I get married... 3 months until my bachelor party in South Beach! Whooo hooo. "
And, on May 21, 1999... I was probably thinking, "Damn, I can't believe Elway retired 19 days ago... but, that's so kick ass to leave after 2 titles - HE RULES - yeah and I think Brister should kick ass with that offense and Terrell, Sharpe, Rod, Ed... then Griese takes over in a year. Damn, that rules - it's a freaking machine." |

I had been married a mere 20 days, working the worst job I had ever had and was a little over a year away from going to college for the first time...all at 37 years of age.
Oh yeah, I was an active member of the KC Star Chiefs BB. This place was a just twinkle on AustinChief's eye. |
Hitting rodeos, admiring the hair I once had, and never once thinking that I'd ever be 40 pounds heavier...grrrrrrrr.
taking a few community college courses, working alot, partying at times
same shit as now, but no kids, so more golf, fishing, hunting, and hanging with the fellas.
Buying a house, making more money for essentially the same job I have now.
chicks were so much hotter in the day, the girls I date now are like eff it. I had one eat her food like that chick eats subway in the movie coneheads
Working as a radio programmer/morning show host for a country FM and NBC tv affiliate... and making $8000 more per year.

Just moved into the Bellerive on Armour gearing up for my 1st semester at UMKC.

trying to accept the fact that my 18 year old twin sons were not kids anymore.
trying to explain to my wife that the condoms she was finding in their trucks wasn't really a bad thing. sec |
Out processing of the Air Force and lots of alcohol.

Same shit, different year.
Living with my mom, working where I do now only microfilming, and going to church regularly.
3 jobs and no deviant behavior
Sitting on the back deck of an M1A1 cleaning a .50 cal counting down the last 60 days of my active duty commitment. Good times..

UGHHHH.....I was.....in Texas, going to school, working half time as a youth minister, married to the wrong man who was spending the majority of his life in some far away place where apparently there were no phones, and I had a fat dog, an epileptic dog, and a bitchy cat. I did have more girlfriends though. That was one plus.

10 years ago I was cruising around in my sweet 1980 El Camino, playing sports, and drinking beer. Pretty much your typical Sophomore year in High School.

I was leaving Heildelberg Germany, from the 529th MP "Honor Guard" company. Went to Bosnia with them. |

10 years ago I was getting ready to leave Flagstaff AZ for Austin Tx to help my dad start up a company. Unforutnately we were not a dot com in 1999 so we couldn't find funding. My dad is still paying those credit card bills to this day. Hopefully he can retire fully someday soon (he will be 70 in July). Been in Austin ever since. Bought my first house in August. This is by far the longest I have lived at one address in my life.

Man I would have been in 5th grade. So I would have been playing little kids football and starting my reign as best LT in the area that would go on until I graduated HS.
Finished up junior year at Mizzou.
Spending the summer in Columbia. Ah - to be young again....... |
My god, I could have sworn most of the people here were my age or older, but you're ALL a bunch of pups.

Finishing up my freshman year of HS. Oogling over some grils I ran track with :D
I was gearing up for a summer full of farm work, basketball, and weightlifting. In about a week, I break my hand. Posted via Mobile Device |
I was getting ready to drop out of college after my first semester. Working full-time and doing lots of drugs. Little did I know that 2 months later I would get fired from my job an I would move back home.
Wow....I sucked at life back then. |
I was 8 years into my present job. Hadn't met my present GF. Spent alot of time in the Rocky Mountains... far, far away from the BS. Had this awesome satellite company with Sunday Ticket (ironically, that dish went in the trash Sunday when I rearranged COAX cable). Was working on a new aircraft proposal. Mowed my yard, shoveled snow, and was happy I put siding on my house the previous year so I didn't have to paint again.
I was sitting by my parent's pool, ripped to the nines wondering wether or not I should attend the community college where my dad teaches and wondering how long before it was time for my shift at the video store...golden moments...
