Gonzo 05-21-2009 01:49 PM

The northern race (D. a. autumnalis) breeds from southern Texas through coastal Mexico and Central America. Pairs most often partner for life and share responsibilities of incubation and brood rearing. Nests are usually located in tree cavities, nest boxes, or on the ground in grassy areas or under brush or cacti near water. Ground nesting is most common where mammalian nest predators are absent. Female black-bellied whistling ducks lay an average of 13 eggs with several females laying in the same nest.

Iowanian 05-21-2009 01:49 PM

Donald, Daffy, Daisy, Hewie, Dewie and Loui.

If you want the species, I'll wager "duckdog" will be able to identify them.
The lyons boys are duck hunters too.

CrazyPhuD 05-21-2009 01:49 PM

Do they taste like chicken?

Gonzo 05-21-2009 01:51 PM

Actually, 150,000 casino cash dollars will be sufficent as well for my reaserch...

Fulvous whistling tree duck?

KCChiefsMan 05-21-2009 05:06 PM

just remember, cook duck like a steak. Medium is good, you still want it pink in the middle like a steak. Don't treat duck like chicken or turkey when cooking it!

So many ways to prepare it, have a delicious dinner!
