Kansas City Royals @ Cleveland Indians 6/10

Meche on the mound.....

game time 6:05

let's hope for a win

Priest31kc 06-10-2009 05:05 PM

Hes got TPJ back in there, and Jacobs OUT against a RIGHTY. Trey Hillman is unbelievable.

KCCHIEFS27 06-10-2009 05:07 PM

Haha..just looking at the lineup he has put out there today leaves me zero hope for a win today..unless a couple of our guys get lucky and just stick there bat out for a few hits

Sure-Oz 06-10-2009 05:27 PM

I agree but you sit him against a LHP......Trey not to smart.

petegz28 06-10-2009 05:30 PM

I like this Peyna kid. So far he seems to be good at doing what needs to be done at the plate.

His swing reminds me of Ken Harvey.

Dissect that statement any way you wish.

Everytime he has been at the plate with runners on he has mde contact and advanced runners......

I am sure once the league gets tape on him they will adjust but so far....

Agreed. But I would have sat him last night against Lee instead of tonight. Hillman was not thinking, imo.

Sure-Oz 06-10-2009 05:46 PM

He hates how he acted like hochevar and sat out....also saying dayton picked a bunch of older kids cuz he may have urgency to get player up fast

petegz28 06-10-2009 05:48 PM

Awww Billayyy....

petegz28 06-10-2009 05:51 PM

Olivo has been doing that a lot lately.....could have had the strike 'em out-throw 'em out DP

Mizzou_8541 06-10-2009 05:52 PM

I started Gameday in the 3rd and I got excited when I saw we had 3 hits and a run! Then I realized just how pathetic my fanhood had become. Thanks Royals!

petegz28 06-10-2009 05:52 PM

God damn it TEAHEN!!! You piece of shit! That was as routine as it ****ing gets you no-fielding piece of monkey waste.

petegz28 06-10-2009 05:53 PM

Teahen is lucky as **** we are still up 1-0....

petegz28 06-10-2009 05:59 PM

Jose!!! Jose Jose Jose!!!

Archie F. Swin 06-10-2009 05:59 PM

mucho gusto!

BWillie 06-10-2009 06:02 PM

haha i just looked at the standings. The ONLY team with a worse record than the Royals is Nationals. That's it. And to think, it wasn't that long ago when this team had the second best record in the AL.

Archie F. Swin 06-10-2009 06:08 PM

damn Olive Oyl has found his stroke!

petegz28 06-10-2009 06:09 PM

Olivo with the jack for the 2nd night in a row!

Royals up 5-0

Sure-Oz 06-10-2009 06:09 PM

Amazing what HR's can do for an offense

Mr. Arrowhead 06-10-2009 06:10 PM

we gonna blow this one?

BAS 06-10-2009 06:14 PM

Boy, Gil is Rockin' tonight. 6 Ks in under 4 innings!

BAS 06-10-2009 06:15 PM

Make that 7!

BAS 06-10-2009 06:18 PM

Ok, nobody else is doing this, so:

KKKKKKKK!

Reaper16 06-10-2009 06:21 PM

Meche looks like a man possessed out there. Hopefully it is an indicator that his back issues are over for the time being.

Dartgod 06-10-2009 06:22 PM

Jesus Larry, give the poor kid one of those balls.

Fuggin' greedy old bastard. :shake:

Dartgod 06-10-2009 06:28 PM

Grand Salami!!

BAS 06-10-2009 06:30 PM

Too bad that wasn't the Sonic Slam inning.

Hell yes Callaspo! We're gonna win this one!

The team (and the fans) need this in the worst way.

petegz28 06-10-2009 06:31 PM

About time we get Meche some run support. Now let's save some for the Zackster tomorrow and maybe we can win 2 in a row. Maybe....

Silock 06-10-2009 06:32 PM

WTF? Why can't we spread this offense out over a few games...

58-4ever 06-10-2009 06:37 PM

Too bad we can't spread some of these runs across some of the other games we've tanked in...

Sure-Oz 06-10-2009 06:49 PM

3 HR's this game and it looks like Callaspo is hitting again

Dartgod 06-10-2009 06:52 PM

Like to see a replay there. TJ looked safe to me.

He was very safe. But no one is going to argue with a 9-0 lead.

petegz28 06-10-2009 06:54 PM

Yes DAvid..down the middle thigh high is a strike.

Meche was fantastic, and even the Farns sat 'em down in the 9th on 7 pitches.

petegz28 06-10-2009 07:49 PM

good game.....nice win....let's get our ass out of the cellar

WoodDraw 06-10-2009 07:58 PM

Anyone notice that Farnsworth has his era down to 3 now?

Please god let him keep that up and have some team want him at the trade deadline. It'd be great to free up that $4.5 million for next year. Anything else in return would be icing.

cabletech94 06-10-2009 08:04 PM

They are going to have to put him in leverage situations soon. If he keeps that up in leverage spots (like a tight 8th), then I don't want to trade him, no matter the size of the deal. The rest of the bullpen looks like hell and we need someone to help.

However, given that we probably will not catch up with the Tigers, I wouldn't complain if we got a decent hitting prospect.

Pretty much.

He only averages like 12 wins a year for his career.

Hes way too inconsistent for the money hes making.

Priest31kc 06-10-2009 08:48 PM

Greinke tomorrow, hopefully the bats have woke up and not only for a 2 week stretch like earlier in the season.

Oliver Perez, who has won 12 games once in his entire career, signed a $12 million a year contract this offseason.

How about Carlos Silva? Signed a $12 million a year contract before last season and he won four games for the Mariners last year.

Jeff Suppan, who has finished .500 each of the last three seasons, is making $10.5.

You pay big money for starting pitching. Yeah, people were shocked Meche was signed for $11 mill when he was, but if he was a free agent next year, I bet he'd get at least $14 mill.

Has there ever been a pitcher to suddenly figure things out in the middle of a season at age 33?

I'm going to play the odds and say he'll return to form, at least next year if not immediately this year. And given the cheaper, better options out there for bullpen arms, I'd rather have the $4.5 mil to play with.

so gil had one hell of a game... FINALLY!!! hopefully this game wasnt about pavono coming back to his usual shitty form, and more the Royals coming back into their own offensively

doomy3 06-10-2009 11:37 PM

Nice, too bad we couldn't save some of that offense for a game when we really need it.

I would always trade relievers if I could get a good return. They're too inconsistent from year to year. Example A: Mahay. Nails last year and shit now.

I'm guessing if they continue to avoid any pressure situations for Farnsworth, it's obviously an attempt to get some team to bite on a trade offer, with the Royals desperate to get rid of his terrible contract, which Moore just gave him, ironically enough. Oops.

Dude has proven time and again throughout his career that he's a head case. When the going gets tough, he ****ing melts.
