Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid

This is the 2nd time this week that Real Madrid has gotten a superstar. First they got Kaka, now Ronaldo.

This immediately puts Real Madrid back at the top of La Liga, and also makes Man U a bit more vulnerable.

Man U is my favorite team, so this sucks, but I'm sure they just freed up a ton of money to bring someone else in.

penguinz 06-11-2009 09:55 AM

How much did they pay for the rights to the flopper? The payment for the right of Kaka was insane.

It was something like $123 Million.

I think Kaka was around $92 Million.

tymania 06-11-2009 10:02 AM

Pretty sure Man U is looking at bringing in a striker from Bayern Munich....
On a second note, good riddance to Ronaldo, if it wasnt for him Livi' would taken the EPL title this year!!!!!!!

tymania 06-11-2009 10:04 AM

Oh yea, do you think they will keep Tevez now?? i heard a rumor he might be coming to Anfield! that would be pretty sweet for the REDS!

Buck 06-11-2009 10:05 AM

I think Man U is also going to lose Tevez.

Not to mention they are getting pretty old in their midfield and defense. They might be screwed here for a couple years.

Very True, i really hope Liverpool gets Tevez. I think it will be the final piece they need. And will put them in a position to make a similar run Man U did the last couple of years.

WoodDraw 06-11-2009 10:19 AM

You've got to think United will go hard after Franck Ribery now. How much would it cost to get Bayern to let him go, and would Ribery go?

Pants 06-11-2009 10:23 AM

Barcelona will still dominate La Liga, it'll be closer though. Oh and **** Man U.

I don't know if I would say Barca will be better...Kaka and Ronaldo are the reason their teams had so much success..now they are playing on the same team..

tymania 06-11-2009 11:02 AM

i think it was ESPN.com that said MAN U is also looking at bring in midfielder Antonio Valencia from wigan

Wa-Z 06-11-2009 11:03 AM

Rumors were that if ManU sold Ronaldo they would pursue getting Frank Ribery..but the manager of Bayern has insisted that he is not for sale.

Wa-Z 06-11-2009 11:06 AM

Can't wait for all the idiots on FIFA 2010 to use Real Madrid..

tymania 06-11-2009 11:09 AM

Who knows what Sir Alex will do, and what opportunities they have. I also heard they might try to take a stab at Javier Mascherano..personally i think he could help them out. But personally i dont think he is the big time player MAN U is looking to get.

Ribery is more of a winger than a true forward, but he's good enough to do anything from midfield and on.

I also have to say, you can expect Ronaldo's production to go even higher since his style is pretty much catered for the way they play in Spain, you know, where they actually rely on technique.

I'll still be using Man U.

But at least now it'll be a lot of Barcelona vs Real Madrid games.

He's backed down, saying they'd consider it if another team offered something "crazy".

Arsenal in the English league is MY favorite team. But Real madrid has always been my non-English favorite team. So I rejoice.

Silock 06-11-2009 12:21 PM

Arsenal FTW!

**** Man U. Glad they got rid of Ronaldo. They've won enough in the past couple of years. They can stand to have a few down years.

Arsenal??? come on Fabregas and Adebayor are chumps... Arsenal will continue to be the 4th best team in league. Its just there place, they dont have enough talent or depth to compete for the top of the EPL!

Adebayor is gone. Cesc will be great when we have a true DM once again. Getting rid of Flamini was stupid.

Rosicky is back, Arshavin is in for a full season, Eduardo is back . . . we'll be there at the top, just like we were last 2 seasons ago for most of the season. Only this time, we won't piss it away.

Fritz88 06-11-2009 03:09 PM

Nowhere yet. He's had one foot out the door since last off-season. He'll be gone this season, probably to either Barca or Inter.
