Holly Starr

She's purty.

This morning Steven St. John said she really knows how to grow melons. I agree. They are the bestest.

Jilly 06-18-2009 03:34 PM

we saw her at a t bones game and it made me angry for some reason..... I think I was actually jealous, which is strange

You need to see her somewhere other than a 2D pic. You'd really appreciate her beauty.

She's sexy...Pretty? I don't see it.

Oh yeah, Meredith is hot, too. I put them on the same level. Holly just seems more fun. When 810 had a Hardee's burger eating challenge, Soren asked her if she was turned off by guys who would enter the contest. Her words? "Heck no! I want to compete!"... That's my kind of girl.

She's all over KC radio and TV. She's just your average little hottie.

sedated 06-18-2009 03:53 PM

38 the spot host. model. was in a local low budget horror flick a few years back. 31 years old. rumored to have dated (pogo-sticked) tyler thigpen.

she was in a charity "date" auction December of last year. I found out too late though, I'd have taken out a loan just for the chance to say hi.

Consistent1 06-18-2009 03:53 PM

Pretty nice overall. Nice balance of being thin and still curvy. I have no idea who she either.

Fish 06-18-2009 03:54 PM

She has a porn star name. So... you know... she has that to fall back on......

I'm sure. A lot of people are like that - that they transcend the visual via photographs. And it does sounds like her personality carries her a bit as well. It's just that the pictures of her aren't showing me anything other than a girl-next-door type of girl. Cute, but not beautiful. At least in the classic sense. She'd be hot as a waitress, my kid's teacher, or a girl that works out in your gym twice a week. Something like that I guess.

Maybe it's just that her hair is just like my ex-wife's, and I don't really like my ex-wife.

I'd give her a 6.5

And this from her website (because I had absolutely no idea who she is/was):

While in college, Holly was encouraged by her local talent agency to pursue her career further and signed with an agency in Hollywood. There, she worked as an actress and model and was even offered a recurring role in a soap opera.

I call utter Bullshit. No undiscovered actor or actress (and I mean NO ONE) turns down a chance to be on a Soap Opera, especially given the fact that she already lived in Hollywood.

Bullshit. Complete and utter Bullshit.

However, L.A.’s wild and reckless lifestyle did not appeal to the Midwestern, small town girl and Holly came home to Kansas City where she graduated with honors from Park University.

Ha! More likely, she moved out here, found out that there were 50,000 women within an 8 square block radius that were more driven, more talented and far more attractive, so she high-tailed it back home to the safety of KC.

I hate disingenuous nonsense like that of her bio.

It reeks of amateurism.

I mis-typed Householter. We were high school friends, now he's a big shot in Hollywood. He started as a PA in the '80s and is now calling the shots.

Mojo Jojo 06-18-2009 04:36 PM

She is just another Melana Scantlin. Except Melana actually had a TV show and a national commercial. Both are good looking for KC...moved to LA and got lost in the crowd. At least Holly moved back to the pretty girl at home.

No, I've never met him. That's awesome for him! I'm sure it was a long road. From what I've heard (and I've known a few), being a PA is not fun at all.

If he did Land of the Lost, and I was him/Dane, I wouldn't admit it was me. And while we are on Ferrell vis-a-vis Miss Starr, is he now in the Mike Meyers/Eddie Murphy category in terms of his "acting ability" to hold down a leading role in a movie? And what is up with Seth Rogan? Seriously. I mean, he was tolerable in 40 Year Old Virgin, but why am I being forced to swallow the same lackadaisical, lovable loser, stoner schtick for every movie that has come out in the past year and a half? And what is with his bottom lip? Does he chew tobacco or something? And what is the deal with that fat kid whose had bit parts in all those crappy Rogan films now getting mainstream stuff like that Museum movie? You know, that painful to look at kid with the horrible hair in Superbad, 40 YOV, Leaving Sarah Marshall, Knocked Up, et al. I mean, seriously...why? He's not funny. Horrible to look at. Can't act. What gives? And what is with this crappy "Let's make it look all indie film" Kevin Smith (whose blown dog ass ever since Clerks anyway), Judge Apatow stuff all the rage? Stop filming with grandpa's Super 8, buy a decent camera, get decent actors and make a ****ing decent film for god's sake!

Now back to your regularly scheduled viewing of the Planet's newest girl-next-door hot, Miss Holly Starr:

Yup. You're dead on, I'll bet. That bio is full of lipstick-on-a-pig b.s. She didn't have the dedication or the chops to make it, so she made up some phony lifestyle-clash story.

That's cool, Stewie!

Believe it or not, many successful people working in Hollywood weren't born or raised in SoCal. I wouldn't say it's a "majority" but in my experience, a large portion of people that I've known and met in every facet of film & television have been transplants.

allbusiness 06-28-2009 11:44 AM

My name is Matt Rivers and I used to be a talent scout for "Click" model and talent agency in LA. I was recently in Los Vegas on business. While there I turned on the tv in my hotel room. Pleasantly surprised, I saw a familiar face and former talent, Miss Holly Starr. Not surprising, she was even more beautiful than I remembered her 10 years ago. As any male would, I googled Miss Starr to catch up on her. After pages of info, I stumbled onto this site. With that said, I wish to set the record straight and correct DANE MCCLOUD . First, may I say that I found it ironic that HE is originally from Kansas and now claims to be " in the entertainment field in LA." I google him as well and literally found NOTHING> Anyway, alluding to the purpose of this reply, let the record show that I am not generally irascible but his ignorance and rancor set me off and I felt a muscle jump in my jaw. More importantly let the record also show that Miss Starr's BIO is 100 percent accurate and truthful. Although I do not remember everything, Holly came to LA with her agent from Kansas City. She had just declined the opportunity to model in Germany( I think it was Germany) and her local agency felt her talents were greater than what the midwest had to offer. They were correct. While with Click, Holly was very marketable with her commercial , girl next door look. She obtained work and did very well as I remember her being chosen out of hundreds as extras in several films and doing adds and commercials. Her stay in LA was short lived only as a result of her own choice. She had a signed a years contract but I remember a meeting we had in regard to her wanting to leave California . The reasons given were true. She was not comfortable with the lifestye there and for this reason, she was not driven enough to stay. I remember this because this was something very rare and unusual for those of us in the business. Her moral compass was more important. After she returned to her home the agency WAS contacted by a casting affiliate from SUNSET BEACH offering her a re-occuring role in their soap opera. It was not a huge role but could have led to something. Holly was back in college and I recall that her GPA was one of the reasons given to decline the offer despite our encourgement. She would have had to drop out resulting in the loss of her 4.0 or something. Bottom line is I steadfastly stand up for Miss Starr because seldom do you meet people who are not willing to sacrifice their beliefs for fame and fortune. I realize that there are always going to be people who get personal satisfaction by stiking out and making comments about innocent people who they know nothing about, but there are also people such as myself who will take the time to correct them. In a nutshell, Holly Starr was the real deal and from what I have been reading, she still is.

Excuse me? Um, you're a member now, my info is in my Bio. I've lived in Los Angeles for nearly 17 years and worked at Universal & Paramount Studios. I'm currently working in the movie business in "Post-Production" (I'll let you figure that one out, genius).

FTR (and with all due respect to those living in KC), there IS no "Entertainment Business" in Kansas City.

Why the hell to do you think everyone that's anyone in this business lives or owns property in Los Angeles?

What? First off, it's "Ads", not "Adds". Secondly, ANYONE can be an extra. There are signs on every street lamp, in every coffee shop, everywhere. It generally pays $75 a day. You don't need an agent to be an extra. As a matter of fact (for those who aren't aware), Extras aren't members of SAG. That's why they're paid so cheaply.

I'm not an expert on advertising (we have an expert on the 'Planet, if he so chooses to chime in) but if she was chosen for ad campaigns (especially National campaigns) she would have made some major dough. Major dough. I had a co-worker that did an IBM commercial and made $20k in a three day shoot. I seriously doubt she made that type of money or that she would just "walk away" from that income.

And to set the record "straight", Holly Starr appeared in exactly two films (both directed by the same man). What were those films, you ask?

"Prehistoric Bimbos in Armageddon City" and "Sorority Babes in the Dance-A-Thon of Death". I'm sure both on the level of Micheal Bay's new film.

LMAO

What's this "lifestyle" you speak of? Being poor? Not being able to afford to eat out or party? Living in a hell-hole? Riding public transportation? I've done all of those things (which has been well-documented). Or are you referring to something else? Please, let us know.

Moral compass. LMAO See the movie titles above as to why that's complete bullshit.

I take no personal satisfaction with calling it like I see it. I've been here for 17 years, Buddy and I've seen just about everything. Certainly not. But I'm not about to necessarily equate box office with quality.

I swear, Chiefsplanet is becoming more unbearable by the minute.

Did you understand the analogy or not?

Of course I did. It looked like you were trying to attack my post like it was something other than a simple joke, though.

No. My apologies.

I guess I was still in "attack" mode.

FTR, I really do not care about Miss Starr and think it's unfortunate that this "person" has chosen to attack me because personally, I think this makes her look worse.

I laughed out loud when that person said that you were working in Kansas City. I knew that your response to that person was going to be epic, and it was.

My apologies, again.

I hope that people see my response as directed towards that "person" and not Ms. Starr.

Again, I have no vested interest, one way or the other, for her or her career.

It was just so super nice of them to change the locale on that shoot because of Ms. Starr's morals.

JFC! That's so unbelievably bad it's embarrassing that KC has anything to do with it. I could do that well with my digital video camera and I'm a non-artistic left-brained engineer.

TO DANE MCCLOUD

Born and raised in Kansas and I lived there for 27 years. I've resided in the Hollywood, CA area since 1993.
Location
Hollywood,CA
Occupation
Entertainment

Yep, there it is folks, Dane MCCloud's Bio. Did I miss something? You told me to look there Dane and I did. Also, I googled you once more and uh.... found nothing again except something about you never paid for a lap dance. Impressive! Probably not true though. Please refer me to anything else important about you that you would like to share. You said you worked for Universal and Paramount? Operative words "used to"? And what did you do there? And now working on Post Production projects? What rating do those movies have? XXX I assume from your love of strip clubs. Oh my what a messy job for you.
Truth be known, I did not want to participate in a DICK MEASURING CONTEST with you, stooping to your level. I am an amiable man who just wanted to protect a nice young lady and set the record straight. Ok, I pissed you off so you really started bashing Miss Starr with your opinions. We all know what they say about opinions, don't we? And by the way, thank you for your spelling critique. I am negligent when it comes to proofreading unless I am writing someone I respect or whom I consider important. Guess I could hit the spell check like you do, eh? And sorry for accusing you of being from LA and moving to Kansas. I screwed that up but did know what I meant. Now, I need continue to set the record straight.

1. CLICK agency was then and now a very successful model and talent agency. Perhaps you know Elle MacPherson or Uma Therman to name a few talents from that agency?
2. Miss Starr.... Beat? Gentlemen please google Holly Starr Kansas City -- Holly Starr Vegas for starters. Check out ONEMODELPLACE.com and see just how Beat she is. Dane, you know you just say that because you don't have a chance with women of her calibar. That is why you go to strip clubs.
3. Yes, I did reside in West Hollywood. I am now the CEO of a very successful company in San Fran. Can't give you the details because people like yourself can be very vindictive!
4. To set the record straight, I did not imply that Miss Starr was too good to be in Hollywood. I said she was not willing to exchange her morals for profit in a city she did not feel comfortable in. She was 19 years old, green and from a small town. It does not take long to witness the dysfunction in Hollywood. To say that NO ONE could resist the opportunity to be famous is rediculous. That would be like saying all scrotum- scratching forum junkies are stupid! And no I was not suggesting that everyone in Hollywood is immoral and twisted. Just you, Paris Hilton and a handful of others. I have met some of the nicest people there!
4. Now, with regard to those movies Miss Starr was in. Come on. Anyone with half a brain can tell that she had to have been 13 or 14 years old and it was shot locally and just for fun. They are totally rated G. The titles for the movies were most likely just to attack the male pervs.... Anyway, I am certain Miss Starr probably just laughs at them. I remember her sense of humor as being one of her best attributes.
5. As for Sunset Beach, the soap opera. Yes she did read for the part. Fact is, by the time the project for the show was in fruition, Miss Starr had already gone back to Kansas and was finishing her college education. We contacted her and she was still under contract with Click at the time finishing out her year with us, flying back and forth if needed. As stated, she chose her to not lose her outstanding GPA by ditching the courses. It was a Spelling production.
6. And last, what I meant by "she is the real deal" is that she was and most likely is a very genuine nice small town girl". There is nothing wrong for settling for local celebrity... and now Vegas. There are more important things in life you know...... such as being a popular CHIEFS PLANET LEGEND who likes to surf the net for blogs and forums to share his blow gut opinions and non-truths with other attention starved males who can't wait to hear what he has to say!!! Sweet. ( there are some real gentlemen on here however...)

One last thing, you asked about Miss Starr and her Vegas gig. I can not answer what it is exactly but I do know that I saw her at least 6 or 8 times in an hour on the set. She was introducing shows and doing commercials, etc. She looked amazing and not a day older than 24. Just for you Dane, I am going to check it out and get back with you. The station is closed today but since you and I are such good friends now, I will be relentless in my pursuit . I will find out as much about Holly Starr as I can. I am a renewed fan. I will even try to contact her and see if she has any comments!
Matt
