I actually met Frank Boal at the Tommy Morrison vs. Donovan "Razor" Ruddock fight at municipal auditorium years ago and he seemed like a nice guy. Hopefully he'll end up on radio or something here in town, but I could see him going back to the area of his Alma Mater Villanova in Pa.
With his extensive resume, model-like good looks, and charming personality, perhaps Claythan should offer to be his replacement. I'm sure the corporate jet is on its way to Houston right now.
Hes probably gonna get a hell of alot of moola
Yeah KK announced this on his show today and he appeared later on today. I wasn't able to listen to it but apparently they bought out his last 2 years of his contract
It's a sad day in KC sports. Sad indeed.
Named my first pipe Frank Boal, was a good pipe too.
come t think of it, what happened to carrie coogan on FOX4 w/her "try it before you buy it" she's still on the johnny dare morning show, though is is starting to get stale and boring these days.........
Well I heard its because she has club thumbs.

I'm not sure why there are sportcasters on local TV anymore anyway. I like Boal, just saying....
The news, by in large, is a waste of time. Hell, he only reason I watch (and stupidly so) is for the weather...and they delay that sh*t so you'll watch the rest of the garbage. I remember growing up when Sports (specifically sunday nights) section of the news was awesome; a good 10 minues or so (or so it seemed) of 'coverage'. Now, the "Sports" segment is about 2 minutes. oh well; I hope Boal get land somewhere; maybe replace Klinksgale as KK sidekick. |

I remember growing up looking forward to staying up 'late' to watch the "Sports Machine with George Michael" (at least I think that's what his name was lol); it was awesome! Then we got cable for the first time; I can't remember how old I was...maybe like 10?....and watched ESPN. Wow. I fell in love with NFL Primetime, or it's early version...I couldn't belive there was an HOUR LONG show dedicated to recapping the sports of the day! Oh well. Hopefully Frank gets a gig somewhere locally. Hell, he may just pack it up. |

Yea, i remember that. Hes still on in the washington dc area. Thats where the show originated from. I dont know if they broadcast the show all over the US anymore? |

I heard from a guy he met online there was a vacant house in a nice community in Durham,NC. There might be some childcare involved but that's ok.

Frank Boal will still be doing some sort of work with 810 sports. Carrie Coogan is full time on Johnny Dare Morning show.
Why waste 15 minutes waiting for the weather when you can find it online instantly?
Without cable, I pay more attention to local broadcast staffing. WDAF changed ownership fairly recently, and these new owners are costcutting like crazy. Business is business, and I understand why they keep letting people go - even people I like. They are burning up a certain amount of goodwill, tho. That may bite them in the ass before it's over. We already have one David Glass. This town ain't big enough for two.
Mark Alford hasn't been on their morning show for a few days, I've been trying to figure out if he's on vacation or headed somewhere that offers a paid vacation. |
Pudgie has been on WDAF for 28 years, that's a pretty good tv career.

On the other hand, people will always want some sort of a local sports slant. They just may not get it from the local nightly news anymore. Wasnt the Channel 5 sports outsourced a few years back? |
