I'll be there. Going to KC on Thursday, gunna watch the Royals lose. Then go from KC to Cleveland on Friday. Saturday is all about DT & the Pro Football HOF, then Sunday we're going to the Rock & Roll HOF and possibly the Cleveland zoo.

Anyone know if they'll have the DT bust in the Hall on Saturday? I'm not expecting them to, but it'd be nice.

I'll be there with my oldest son.

We will be rolling into town On Friday, staying till sometime Sunday and then heading to RiverFalls for Practice on Monday and Tuesday afternoon.

Can't wait, it's about a 11-12 hour drive but I'm sure it will be well worth it.

Just look for the Chiefs truck with the DTLB58 plates. :D

After reading the Babb 4 page article from the Star. I think it's going to be kinda like a funeral. A lot of Chiefs fans with major eyesocket leakage. It's going to be tough enough to watch from home.

They have a robot dinosaur exhibit this summer. That's all I really cared about. Got any info on it?

I was wondering the same thing, but I doubt it since he isn't officially inducted till Saturday night.

That's one of the reasons I think we are going through the Hall Saturday AND again on Sunday morning to see DT's display and what we missed on Saturday. I've heard you can easily spend more than one day in the museum.

That's what I figured, but I really want to see his bust there. I may have to try & fit in another visit on Sunday if it's not in. I was thinking that maybe it would be there for all the people who could only be there for Saturday. The hall closes early for the ceremony, so I thought maybe they'd have the busts there on Saturday, then move them to the stadium after closing for the enshrinement.

Whatever, I guess it would make the ceremony more "special" if the first time anyone saw the bust was when they unveiled them during speeches.

I'll be in Cleveland on Friday and will drive to Canton on Saturday morning. More than the ceremony, I just want to see the museum, so I hope it's not closing too early. I'd be up (with the wife) to meet up with some people on Saturday evening.

I assumed the ceremony would be the "unveiling".

But I wouldn't be completely surprised if the busts were there Saturday, since most people are traveling home Sunday. I just think it would take some of the luster away from the ceremony if the busts had already been seen by half the attendees.

God I have the sickest thing to say but if I do I'll get banned.

Yeah, that's my worry. In fact, I almost decided to come the next weekend. I don't really need to hear speeches, but I really want to see Jim Thorpe's gear and Red Grange's helmet and film of the Monsters of the Midway. I decided to come this weekend, though, in the hopes that there would be real HoFers wandering around, which would be cool.

It closes at 5pm, IIRC.

It will probably be packed, but if you get there when it opens (8am) you could have up to 9hrs there, which I would think is enough time regardless of the crowds.

I'm going to be there at 8 am then, because visiting the Pro Football Hall of Fame has been a dream of mine since I was Dante Hall's size.

For those wondering, I just got an e-mail back from the Hall saying that the busts will be unveiled during the speeches (duh) and will not be in the Hall until "sometime after the ceremony."

so they might not even be in the museum Sunday?

I have to ask. Why do people care about the busts? I doubt that I'd even go into that area unless I had extra time to kill. I know what the players look like, other than maybe Pete Pihos and Blood McNally. I want to see the real exhibits - the shoes, the jerseys, the footballs.

I've been to the HOF in 1998... and it was quite awesome.

Sure seems like a lot more people than that piped in when it was announced.

Leaving Thursday night to KC to stay at my bros place. Leaving real early Friday morning and driving up there where we have a motel waiting for us. Coming back on Sunday.

So what's the dress code for this thing? I'm presuming a Derrick Thomas jersey is the way to go, right? Or is it dressier than that?

You're good on the DT jersey, it's casual dress (that's what I'll be wearing). A few of the extra stuff like the enshrinee dinners & whatnot have dressier attire, but not the inductions.

This. Headed up to KC in about 2 hours to go to the Royals game tonight (hope it's not rained out), then going from KC to Cleveland tomorrow. Got a van waiting for us on Saturday morning to take us to Canton for the parade.
