Anyone have access to ESPN Insider and care to share??
I saw this this morning and it has me really curious:
NFL Rumors: Vick to possibly back up Cassel http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/features/rumors |
he's going to be a valet at arrowhead for the players...
|
I see only good things coming from this thread.

Don't ask me why I have an Insider account, or how. I think I got it as a present years ago and it keeps renewing, apparently. I keep getting the crappy ESPN magazine, too.
FREE AGENCY: Two jump in for Vick? Michael Vick | Falcons | Interested: Packers? Patriots? Ravens? The Titans, Ravens and Chiefs might be the only teams interested in signing Michael Vick. That's what ESPN's John Clayton said on ESPN Radio's Brock and Salk when pressed about NFL teams' interest in the troubled quarterback. There was no mention of the Packers or Patriots, which is contrary to prior reports. The Packers have had "legitimate discussions" of signing Michael Vick, sources told the Wisconsin State Journal. But GM Ted Thompson hardly made it seem like they were this interested when he said he was open to the possibility. Also, Patriots coach Bill Belichick said he'd be open to the possibility of bringing in Vick, although Pats owner Robert Kraft said he has no interest. |

No way Vick ever enters Arrowhead as a Chiefs under Pioli.
I'll take bets if anyone is up. |

Was just wondering |
If Thigpen comes in they have to change the offense because playing from under center is not his strong suit. Croyle is good for 2 games if your lucky, before he gets snapped in half. They need to find a back up they don't have to make excuses for in order to keep. Vick isn't much worse than what they have. It's all kinda, blah
|
So basically, it's naked speculation with no basis in reality.
I saw ESPN was running their Vick worship coverage, and they had a graphic with a list of teams that had not yet said publicly they had no interest in Vick. Probably just had a story due this morning and speculated because they don't know who our backups are. |
hahahahahaha yes, please
|
Essentially Clayton hasn't got a confirmation from the Chiefs Brass that they won't sign him, therefore they might be interested.
|
Actually, speaking of "hahahahaha," shouldn't Denver just take the ****in' chance?

Highly unlikely is probably more like it. Vick would be a much better backup than Croyle/Thigpen/Guiterrez (**** i can't spell his name) |
He will be the team official dog sitter
|
I am all for TT as a backup but I'll gladly ditch him for Vick.

On an actual football level, is there anyone here that doesn't think Vick would be an upgrade over Thigpen and Croyle?

Christ, my position on Thigpen is well documented, but Thigpen's numbers in 11 starts last year are better than 3 of Vick's 4 FULL seasons. Michael Vick might be the most overrated NFL player of the past decade. -Career comp% of under 54% -Averaged 155 yards passing -Has 55 fumbles in 74 games -A career QB rating of 75. No thanks. |
I would fathom a guess of better than Croyle, slightly worse than Thigpen

The Wildcat was getting shut down late in the season last year. It's a gimmick that teams will be better prepared for in 2009. |
Quote:
The year he was drafted I thought he was overrated as a QB. He's a great athlete, but overrated at the QB position. |
Michael Vick is a running back who can (sorta) throw the ball.
Not a QB. Never was, never will be. |

He was voted into the Pro Bowl because the media deemed him "the most exciting football player on Earth". He's an average QB (at best) with average stats. However, he can run. He's a Running back with delusions of being a QB, in my opinion. |
