Awwww, Gardy's ending our fun.

Reaper16 08-11-2009 06:52 PM

This is the most sparsely attended game thread I've ever seen.

With Davies pitching it is surely not over.

alnorth 08-11-2009 06:55 PM

Yay...Gordon hit his first double of the year tonight!

Reaper16 08-11-2009 07:07 PM

Do the Twins not read Olivo's scouting report?

I fully expect them to. I keep my expectations low with this club.

Doesn't mean that I can't be pleased with the offensive effort. I mean, Jacobs and Olivo hitting is amazing. Betancourt just took a walk; wow.

I think it would be hilariously funny if the Nationals caught them.

Hilariously awesome you mean. If the team is going to lose a dickton of games, they might as well get rewarded with Bryce Harper.

No worries. This team doesn't hit consistently enough to win more than one out of every three games.

Chiefless 08-11-2009 07:59 PM

i've got a bad feeling about him.... he's an early sprouter, that is all... he's not going to experience as much of a physical jump from 16 to 18 as most kids do.

to me, he's got bust written all over him. he's got psycho parents and he's playing waaaaaay too much baseball for a kid his age.

What will our season record be against the Twinkies after this game? I do not remember...

The wife and I went out to dinner this evening before the game....so did a lot of Twins fans. I was wearing my Royals cap...definitely got some sneers and laugh from Twins fans....would like to see any of them after this game and see what they have to say. :)

Yeah, his swing is different. He's been keeping both hands on the bat through the swing.

alnorth 08-11-2009 09:15 PM

well, that walk from Mijares guaranteed Olivo one more at-bat, so there's a reason to keep watching if nothing else.

Nzoner 08-11-2009 09:18 PM

Maybe George Brett should've been more vocal about his displeasure with these guys earlier in the season.

Anyone know what our season record is against the Twins?

alnorth 08-11-2009 09:20 PM

looking at Olivo's stats, look like there's roughly a 4% chance that he'll get his double.

Mr_Tomahawk 08-11-2009 09:21 PM

Nevermind I found it.

I think Hillman got fired discreetly and the team had a party. Evidenced by tonight.

Or one can hope. :)

Its probably just as well, it would have been strange to put Olivo's name next to Patek, Mayberry, Brett (twice), and White (twice)
