The Faid is beating Dallas by 10 pts.
9 minutes left in the 3rd.
Step it up Chiefs Offense...:cuss: |
Annnnnnd Defense.
|
Their receivers look pretty damn good, as do their running backs.
JaMarcus was particularly impressive. |
Raiders, the preseason champs
|
Preseason.
|
Did DHB actually look alright?
|
The Lions went 4-0 in preseason last year.
|
Yeah, DHB looked good but Chaz Schilens looked bad ass.
I wish the Chiefs had this kid. Second year player from San Diego. |
Hey, tomorrow will be here before you know it.
Just sayin'. |

Did you know in this years Madden game there is only a handful of 99 rated guys...the Raiders have one.

WTF? Its pre-season. Who gives a shit? Seriously?

It's called scouting. Watching other players (as well as the Chiefs). Are you telling me that you didn't have a bad feeling about the 2004 Chiefs when they stunk it up in the preseason on offense? I did. And it took them 8 games to get a win (including preseason). Don't discount pre-season games. You definitely get an idea of talent and depth. And if guys can ****ing catch the ball. |

1/2 of the 3rd preseason game may give you a glimmer though. |

I like to see recievers run their routes and catch the football. I like to see running backs fight for yards. I like to see the special teams. I like to see new talent. I like to see the attitude of the team. I've been watching preseason for 30 years and it's always informative. |

I only bring it up because he just made a kick ass catch in the Faid end zone. |

They don't watch preseason football. They just party. |

Or just Andrews? And why were they up 23-9 or whatever in the 4th quarter if they sucked? |

I guarantee that you'd look at preseason differently. Of course, it would be through beer goggles, but we'd watch all 4 quarters. :D |

I'd take Flowers over Bailey in a heartbeat this season. And most every DB or LB for that matter is going to have an incredibly difficult time containing Tony. He's just a ball-catching freak. So that's not a very fair assessment of Asomugha's worth. |

And for Flowers and Asomugha in the Chiefs DB Corps, I'd tell BP to take a hike. |
If the Chiefs had drafted Asomugha the fan base would have flipped out...
He was a college safety that got converted to corner I could have just heard that one. |

I really wish the Chiefs would have taken Louis Murphy in this years draft

You might like to see all of this stuff but it still doesn't tell you a damned thing about what is going to happen in the regular season. Nothing. |
Preseason is good for watching individual talent and players, but not watching the entire defense or offense in any given situation. The score doesn't matter at all either.

For that one example Dane gave of the 2004 Chiefs, one could probably come up with several others proving the opposite. Preseason simply is not the same thing as regular season. And it really is hard to glean much from it. Like the Lions being 4-0 in preseason last year, the Chargers of 1998 were unbeaten in preseason, as well. Ryan Leaf looked like he was going to be an NFL superstar. We all saw how that turned out when the Chiefs really put the heat on him. |

If we play crappy tomorrow night against the Texans... I'm guessing full melt down from over half of the posters here. |

man we were watching different games..... |

If the Chiefs play like crap - Dane and Mecca say "see I told you so". If the Chiefs play well - Dane and Mecca say, "it's only preseason, doesn't matter" Or they find a player or two who looked bad and spend all their time bitching about them instead of commenting on who looked good. :) |

Look, the Raiders aren't going to go to the Superbowl but they are gonna kick the living shit out of the Chiefs
You heard it here first... |
What's Dennis Byrd doing these days? I heard he bought some land over around Delaware, Oklahoma.

If you take anything out of the Faiders preseason performance you are going to be sadly dissapointed once the season starts. |

The other QB's also played well. So I guess we didn't watch the same game. |

he completed a bunch of short passes/screens....he missed his 3 deep balls badly - they weren't lasers, they were ducks - and two of them, the fist and second, could/should have been intercepted....if it weren't for a flagrantly bogus PI call on the second, which ended up being 47 yards, they wouldn't have even scored a FG with russell a fat ass throwing 4 yard swing passes doesn't excite me that much, but knock yourself out..... |

But outright dismissal is just plain dumb. |
Quote:
But he's so goddamn huge, the Fade really need to bust his ass and get him slimmed down. I mean, he looked like an aging McNair when he had to scramble.. |
Quote:
Which is also why I stated last night that he was impressive. But what really impressed me last night were the Raiders receivers and McFadden. They really have the makings of a potent, high-powered offense. I'm not stating that they will be either of those things, but the talent sure looks to be there. |
russel has all the talent, i just don't think he has the head or commitment
his wind up is slow, and he throws his deep ball late....this is all correctable, but it strikes me as something going on in his head, like his neurons are firing a half-second slow...i don't know, he just never seems focused i admit i could be biased by the fact that he is a fat ass lard butt |
Quote:
One thing's for sure: They have depth. Garcia looked good and Gradowski looked very good (albeit against 2nd and 3rd teamers). I don't understand why Tampa let him walk. |
Quote:
A dude that big; that is fairly mobile really needs to slim down...fast. He's gonna have a litany of injury issues if he keep carrying all that extra weight around. You'd think if you were the No. 1 draft pick you'd respect that position enough to lay off the ****ing cheeseburgers and come into preseason in great shape. |

Garcia is a legit QB that never got his proper dues. If Fatmarcus struggles, his ass will be on the bench in a second...and I'm honestly a little worried about having to play Garcia. |

I saw #5 out there in the early 2nd quarter and automatically assumed it was Garcia. It was Gradowski. Yet when the announcers called him Gradowski after the 49 yard reception to Miller that put them on the 1, I didn't put two and two together. Duh. |
