Would you trade Tyler Thigpen for Kyle Orton straight up?
I wouldn't. I wouldn't touch that turd with a 10 foot pole. How about you? Let's let the Donko homers know where we stand on their shitty quarterback.

No
|
No, probably not. Thigpen brings "Wildcat" potential for us where Orton wouldn't bring anything.
|
Hell no.

Not no, but hell no. Seen enough of Orton when he was up here, he had a hard time competing with Rex Grossman.
|
I would be crushed when Thigpen scrambles around aimlessly for 30 seconds and wings a no-look side-arm pass to Marshall for the game winner.
|
i wouldn't trade aids straight up for orton
|
negative. rather have thiggy on the bench than orton...

Depends what kind of team you are building. I don't like Orton at all, but I'll say this for him, he's shown the moxie in the past of being able to win games with the Bears, so in that sense he's a bit more of a proven commodity that Thigpen. But I don't think he's better than Cassel or brings anything more to the table. Thigpen, while pretty inconsistent last year, has shown flashes and brings that different element to the table, but I'm not real enamored with him either. He's fallen down to third string this offseason thus far, so how much does he really want it? Seems to me like he may have just resigned himself or settled with the fact that he was going to be a backup and didn't come into the preseason program ready to compete. Not sure if that's the guy I want leading the team...

Yes. Orton is reasonably accurate and his three-pick game is being overblown. He's never been a turnover-prone QB.
Thigpen...unreasonably inaccurate and has always been turnover prone. |
I would. Orton would be much more versatile than Thigpen would. If I'm looking for a decent backup QB, I'd rather have one that didn't require a custom offense installed just to be somewhat productive....

It's pretty much an irrelevant conversation.
If your starting quarterback is named Thigpen OR Orton...you're ****ed. |
Can he return punts...er.. .kickoffs?

We'll find out how good or bad Orton is when he's asked to win games this year.
My guess is that his ints go up and his rating goes down, |
Hell no. Thigpen actually has the better arm and is more athletica and can make plays with his legs better than a lot of starting QB's around the league.
|
Nope. Thignpen has more upside....and burst. :)
|
No
|
I'd trade KnoMo straight up for him
|
Uh hell no.
|
I would, but only because if it happened, knowmo would come here telling us all about how much better Thigpen is than Orton the second Thigpen became a Donkey.
And that would give me a nice laugh, just like all of his other posts. |

I will not debate you.

Yes. Without thinking twice.

Definitely. Orton is a solid backup, Thigpen is useless.
|
Thigpen has more upside. Orton has peaked. Both may turn out to be names forgotten in five years; but, Thigpen has more athleticism. With more experience, he could make fewer mistakes.
|
Even if objectively, Orton is the better player, but is somehow not working out in Denver, why would you want to trade for them and change the dynamic in Denver?
