LJ learning to block?

Maybe it is just me, but I thought LJ did a nice job in picking up blocks a few times on Friday night. Any thoughts from all the football experts out there?

Sorry if repost...

wild1 08-22-2009 07:21 PM

My thoughts - if he remembers how to run the football from 3 or 4 years ago he'll be all set

chiefbowe82 08-22-2009 07:22 PM

we don't really like to talk about larry johnson here

ziggysocki 08-22-2009 07:23 PM

He could still run similarly... given an O-line that could at least be successful at the college level. Out line SUCKS. Adrian Peterson wouldn't get shit behind our blockers.

Like him or not, we are stuck with him. As long as Savage fumbles balls like Gochiefs gargles them, we might as well hope he succeeds.

chiefbowe82 08-22-2009 07:25 PM

ljs vision is terrible all he sees is the centers butt and runs right up it

OctoberFart 08-22-2009 07:26 PM

He looked really slow and not explosive like he used to be to me running the ball. On the play that Henderson blew up he should of been farther along in the run and Henderson shouldn't of been able to make that play.

LJ has lost a bunc of speed. He can't get to the corners any longer. The LB's beat him there while they used to wonder where he went. He seems to have lost his power as well so I don't know what he is good for.

Sweet Daddy Hate 08-22-2009 10:55 PM

LJ kind'a sucks.

These two posts, while unfortunate, are true.

Faiderfan, when did you start talking about legit football topics? Or is this a lame attempt to stir shit?

Just a ploy. Come regular season he'll have his cape back on and be spitting drinks in women's faces while running a 4.2 40!
ROFL

pr_capone 08-23-2009 02:03 AM

LJ was never a burner.

He had JUST enough speed to make it around the corner back in the day. Not only has he lost that speed though but also the willingness to put his shoulder down and bulldoze his way to an extra 2 or 3 yards.

Seems like his feet stop moving as soon as contact is made. That should never happen.

This.

ziggysocki 08-23-2009 07:40 AM

I wasn't saying he hasn't slowed down, or lost power, or anything else. I was just pointing out that he made some nice blocks on pass rushers that we have seen him whiff on regularly in his career.

If he did, gifs are coming. TIME TO TAKE A LOOK!

Hammock Parties 08-23-2009 07:45 AM

Oh, damn. LJ just STONED EJ Henderson.

Do it! Prove me right...

Hammock Parties 08-23-2009 08:12 AM

Sorry dude. LJ only blocked one guy all night. He wasn't asked to block but maybe twice that I saw.

But it was a nice block:

You can also see Goff and Albert sucking shit.

milkman 08-23-2009 08:13 AM

Well great.

LJ, in his seventh season, when his other skills have diminished and his paychecks are on the line, is finally learning to block.

I'm really ****ing impresssed with the useless ****ing bastard.

Woo****ingHoo!

milkman 08-23-2009 08:18 AM

Yes, that's a nice block by LJ.

But tell me again how Albert is sucking shit there.

Robison(?) takes an inside move and Albert pushes him across the field, keeping him awayfrom Cassel.

Looks to me more like Goff got in the way. Cassel had to bail out anyway.

Albert forces him further inside and is between him and Cassel the entire time.

Hammock Parties 08-23-2009 08:27 AM

Just don't hit me, OK?

KcFanInGA 08-23-2009 09:22 AM

I suppose it's too much to ask to wait until LJ plays a regular season game to start bashing him. I think he's on a leash right now, Haley needs him healthy. come week one, he will turn him loose. Just my opinion, not trying to start a flamewar. And yep, I am an LJ fan through and through. Talking just football here, ok?

I respect you right to be an LJ fan, though I can't fathom any reason for that fandom.

I hope you respect my right to hate him with a burning passion.

SO if he ran for 2000 yards this season, 25 TD's and the team went to the Super Bowl, you wouldnt root for him not one bit?

I'll repeat what I've said a couple times here and elsewhere.

LJ is not the kind of player that I can proudly point to and say "He represents our best"

As long as he's a Chief, I wiil root for him to succeed on the field, because his success helps the Chiefs.

However, I will celebrate the day he is no longer a Chief.

Demonpenz 08-23-2009 09:43 AM

LJ was the man here for along time. tooting the rock when we sucked. I will always give him his props for that. He had a nasty 'tute when everyone else was a bunch of pussys. LJ is a big boi.

Understood. IM pretty much the same way, but i honestly dont root for many players anymore.

Every team in the league has selfish players like LJ. Thats just the reality of the game now.

Thats why i never get too caught up in the whole loyalty thing anymore when long time players jump ship to rival teams.

Chieftain58 08-23-2009 10:11 AM

LJ needs to run with reckless abandoment like Maroney

If he was tooting rock, no wonder he sucks; he's too stupid to even properly get high.
