Mizzou Fans - Chase Daniel's

Looking very good vs. Pittsburgh on NFL Network. Started the 3rd Quarter and is 6/8 for 58 yards and 2 TD's and 0 turnovers. 1 carry for 22 yards. Sacked twice (by Ziggy Hood!)

Heh. I hope Ziggy at least helped him up.

Chief Chief 08-22-2009 08:20 PM

For the love of Pete and the umpillionth time...

...it's DANIEL (without an "s")!!!

Tits McGee 08-22-2009 08:20 PM

What is his longest pass tonight?

I thought it was Danielson.

Thig Lyfe 08-22-2009 08:28 PM

Chuck McDanielson is a helluva player.

Frazod 08-22-2009 08:31 PM

Brennan just threw a horrid pick. That's gotta be good for Chase.

18 Yard TD

Frazod 08-22-2009 08:35 PM

They just showed a replay of his touchdown run. That was great.

Sure hope the kid makes the team.

Sully 08-22-2009 09:01 PM

Saw him on the sidelines earlier in the game standing next to Randle El (listed height, 5'10"), and he looked shorter.
I know he measured 6' at the combine, but if the NFL wants to keep the rep that the combine measurements are the most accurate, they may need to ask him not to stand by that guy.

Boon 08-22-2009 09:11 PM

Did he pick his nose for the camera?

Gonzo 08-22-2009 09:18 PM

Kid has heart... hope he makes it.

Nope. Actually he hit him late when he was heading out of bounds.
Ziggy is a beast on the field.
Chase Daniel probably beat out Colt Brennan tonight.

Sweet Daddy Hate 08-22-2009 10:51 PM

The NFL needs more MU alumni; it pleases baby Jesus.

Priest31kc 08-23-2009 12:51 AM

Hell yeah Chase!! 6-8, 58 yds, 2 TD in his first NFL game. AWESOME.

I knew that the Chiefs should have given him a better look....and I'm an Arkansas guy.

Mecca 08-23-2009 03:24 PM

I would be stunned if they cut Brennan in favor of Daniel, Daniel is a guy who looks like NFL camp fodder destined to be in the UFL or Canadian league.

Daniel looked like the better QB last night.

Preseason...Brennan was on the roster last year and like it or not the fact that he's about 4 inches taller than Daniel is a big deal.

I agree. I don't see any way that Daniel makes the team over Brennan.

I want Daniel to have a few good years in the NFL so year three I can hear jackasses like you talking about how he is going to fail because he is so short.

It's reality man, coming from the spread alone puts him in a bad spot but he's also short as hell.

What's your definition of good? Getting on someones practice squad maybe riding out a 3rd string QB job?

The guy is never going to start an NFL game unless a Tyler Thigpen situation occurs, so I guess I should say a game of substance.

The reality is that he has looked good this preseason and Brennan hasn't. Stop acting like you know a damn thing Mecca. It gets old hearing these oh so certain predictions from guys on the internet.

Mecca 08-23-2009 03:57 PM

Great I hope they cut Brennan then the Chiefs can go sign him.

Brennan atleast has reasonable upside, not to mention he was a better college player than Daniel was.

That's debatable. They weren't exactly playing against the same level of competition in Hawaii.

He wasn't but even at Missouri Daniel had better talent than Brennan did.

It evens out in the end about who they played, who they had to work with.

Bill Lundberg 08-23-2009 04:06 PM

If you say so

How many players that Chase Daniel worked with on offense got drafted? Maclin was drafted in the 1st round...

No one Brennan played with got drafted..Davone Bess is on the Dolphins as a UDFA all the other guys are either not playing or off in the CFL.

Bill Lundberg 08-23-2009 04:11 PM

I'm still not sure that supports your argument; Daniels played in the Big XII and was a major part of Mizzou being a top ten team for most of the season. How many top 25 teams did Brennan face? My point is that while he had lesser players as a supporting cast he was playing against defenses that were not as talented either. That alone cancels out your theory.

Mecca 08-23-2009 04:13 PM

That's why I said it evens out...

Colt Brennan was really a phenomenal college player when you look back, Hawaii was shit before him and now they are shit again.

Bill Lundberg 08-28-2009 08:19 PM

Brennan getting his shot to keep the #3 job again tonight. So far he's 3 of 7 with a Red Zone INT. GO CHASE!

Direckshun 08-28-2009 08:28 PM

Holy shit what a throw.

Bane 08-28-2009 08:30 PM

Nice pass.

Mecca 08-28-2009 08:31 PM

And that play right there is why you keep Brennan instead of Daniel.

Brennan has upside, Daniel doesn't, who are you keeping as a 3rd stringer, seems like an easy call to me.

I went to a Pop Warner game once and saw a 7 year old who is the best QB of all time. He had like 29 TDs in a 5 game season. He is better than Tom Brady.

The other teams consisted of 65 pound kids, so the competition wasn't exactly the '85 bears, but it evens out because he didn't have Moss or Welker to throw to like Brady does.

Mecca 08-28-2009 09:44 PM

That is a horrendous comparison because see Colt Brennan played in division 1.

Underdogs always have a chance.. Look at Cassel.. Just need a chance to shine on the right team or right opportunity..

I am not necessarily talking about height.. But the chances of lesser known QB's that were not studs in D1 colleges playing and starting in the NFL.. Cassel was a backup for what 7-8 years before Brady went down??

But damn, did not know Daniels was that short, thought he was at least 5'10"..

What was Flutie??

edit, 5'10"

KCrockaholic 08-28-2009 10:31 PM

Hey, hey, hey...Ive said it before, ill say it again...Drew Brees is the same size as Chase Daniel. Dont play the size card here.

I just would have liked to have seen Washington give him a chance tonight. Kinda Bull considering Colt Brennan played like crap tonight.

Mecca 08-28-2009 10:32 PM

Reesing is even shorter than Daniel is....

Generally speaking if you're under 6'1 you're going to have an uphill battle.

KCrockaholic 08-28-2009 10:43 PM

Reesing is probably 5'10

If he shows up to the combine (if hes invited) I will be surprised to see him tip the 5'11 scale.

Daniel measured in at 6 feet flat at the combine. Notice how Mecca's later post uses 6'1" as the cutoff for the minimum height of any successful NFL QB.
