The Second World War Started Today

70 years.
My kids must have no idea about the significance of that war. I grew up in a neighborhood and family full of guys who fought in it. My father (with the help of a brother) falsified documents so he could serve when he was 16. That was 1944. |

I once made a paper airplane with a neighbor kid. His was American. Mine was Nazi.
His father saw what we were doing (playing a game, as far as we knew). He gave me a lecture that I'll never forget about drawing a swastika on anything. Game or not. |

after that, i'd only draw titties. sec |

Let him know that I thank him for what he's doing in my place and in the place of my children who are still too young to serve. Let him know that my 14 year old son is considering serving beside him when he can. I pray for this protection in the name of your son, Jesus Christ. Amen. |

Well we're probably going to have another civil war here sometime soon once Obama and Co want to start this world government. Hell he's even training his own gestapo in Georgia, to try and combat a civil uprising.
All hell will break loose. |

The only reason most people refuse to admit the 2nd WW started in Asia is because we are mostly of European descent and have always thought of the Asians as second class countries. |

CoMo is a reerun. If there wasn't supposed to be prayer here, then there wouldn't be a Prayer Request prefix Icon. Hes just a douche.
I'll be praying for your son, hope he comes home safe. |

If CoMo has a problem with it, then it's his ****ing problem. Not yours. In fact, I'm gonna post it, because you deserve prayers and thoughts for your son. Quote:

I'm sorry that I started this. I certainly meant no offense to anyone who would be offended by a prayer for a soldier's safety.
I meant only to support the father of a U.S. soldier who was about to be deployed. I'll stay out of this thread from now on. |

There have bee countless number of "sticky" when CP members lose of loved one, or one may be battling a life threatening illness, etc. People usually post something a long the lines of "my thoughts and prayers are with you" then in respect go and pray on their own.....to themselves. Praying is supposed to be your alone time with God. Posting your prayers on the internet for cyberspace (let alone a football message board) to read is tasteless and just plain stupid. |

And if you got a problem with it, well, tough shit. |
And I wonder why my ignore list gets longer on a daily basis.
Unless AustinChief or one of the moderators comes out and says something doesn't belong, then if you don't like what someone's saying, get the hell out of the thread and read something else. Or use the ignore function . . . Or, just maybe grow up . . . |

People really need to learn to ignore this douchbaggery. The sole reason it's done is for this kind of negative attention. |

WTF appointed you the the HMFIC when it comes to what is and is not appropriate on this board. Take your bulls hit opinion and hit the road. |

Not sure what a "real" reason would be to declare war, but the unprovoked attack, killing & capture of US soldiers & civilians seems pretty good to me.:hmmm: Again, only because they involved Asians, were we not willing to get involved. Roosevelt admitted he "overlooked" Japans aggression only because he wanted to fight the Germans. |

Sorry Donger that your thread turned into this mess. I love history, so it sucks that this thread didn't get the proper respect it deserved.

I wonder who the first soldier killed in World War II was. That'd have to be pretty frustrating. It'd be like signing up for the biggest dodgeball tournament in the world and then being hit with the first ball thrown.

The most common Polish surname is Nowak. The most popular male names are Piotr (Peter), Krzysztof (Christopher), and Andrzej (Andrew). So I'm going to guess his name was Piotr Nowak, Krzysztof Nowak, or Andrzej Nowak. |
