we took shitty terrance copper from them so.... didn't they just acquire this guy from the Eagles this offseason and he didn't even make the team?

NE has some great receivers, so just because he can't make their team it doesn't necessarily mean he isn't an improvement over what we have now. Maybe worth a look anyway.

Red Dawg 09-08-2009 09:11 AM

Why the hell not. We are shit past Bow and Bradley

Mr. Krab 09-08-2009 09:12 AM

Terrance Copper FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111111

Huffman83 09-08-2009 09:33 AM

Do we really have to speculate or rummage through the Patriots garbage every time they release someone?

I know they're a very talented team but really it doesn't make me feel better to get their sloppy seconds.

nychief 09-08-2009 09:35 AM

no.

Yep. Apparently he wasn't all that was hoped for. That said, it was a low-end trade. We gave them a 5th for Lewis and a 7th.

Sure-Oz 09-08-2009 09:45 AM

You have to bring him in for a look, even if he sucks, he could be better than what we have

BigChiefFan 09-08-2009 09:52 AM

I'd rather see Lawrence develop than throw money at this average at best, wide-out. In 6 seasons, he has 7 TDs with McNabb at the helm.

RealSNR 09-08-2009 10:33 AM

Terrence Copper just read this thread and raped everybody in your families. Sorry.

JD10367 09-08-2009 11:13 AM

I don't think Copper was ever a Patriot.

As for Lewis, he's really the Eagles' sloppy seconds, not ours. He didn't even get on the field for a real game here.

Yeah, I'm not sure where the thought that Copper was a Patriot came from.

He played for the Saints.

We could certainly use him, but I'd rather have Jones, Tyree or a young guy like Syndric Steptoe.

Or a guy like Branden Williams (steelers)

salame 09-08-2009 12:59 PM

why do you guys want tyree
tyree really really sucks

Swanman 09-08-2009 01:02 PM

Being an Illinois alum, I would love to see him as a Chief. He's a guy that can be a speedburner but has obviously been inconsistent in his NFL career to date. With that said, I can't believe he's not better than most of the receivers on the roster not named Bowe or Bradley.

Chief Chief 09-08-2009 01:06 PM

If Pioli hasn't pulled the trigger on him yet, then he's not worthy of being the newest member of the New England Patriots' Scrap Heap, 2009 Edition.

booger 09-08-2009 01:22 PM

I'd look at Ruvell Martin. Hank Baskett like size, not sure he is as fast.

This.

I am already tired of it, there are other teams cast off scrubs out there to be had.

How the **** did this team fall so far?

Oh thats right, they needed to be rebuilt, with fresh young talent, I keep forgeting, sorry.

This is reminding me of late 70s and 80s, next they will unveil the Wing T.

I'd rather they run the Veer.

Why you guys keep bitching about this?

Former Pats on the Chiefs:
Matt Cassel (a nice acquisition IMO)
Matt Gutierrez (scrub in New England, scrub in KC)
Corey Mays (never really got a chance as a Pat)
Ryan O'Callaghan (nice pickup, for free)
Mike Vrabel (nice pickup, and you basically got him for free)

That's five guys. Big friggin' whoop. Five guys, four of whom will probably be contributors (all except Gutes). None of those guys are "scrap heap" (again, aside from maybe Gutes).

Former Pats on the Denver Broncos:
Jabar Gaffney (won't add much)
Brandon Gorin (won't add much)
Daniel Graham (bust-o-rama)
Russ Hochstein (low level player)
LaMont Jordan (a decent platoon back)
Lonie Paxton (long snapper)
LeKevin Smith (depth on D, that's all)

They have two more than you. And aside from Jordan, most of them probably won't be of great use.
