Who do you hate more? Steelers or Titans?

So here we are at the start of the 2009 season. YAY! Right out of the gate we have a pretty good game to watch. Like most non-Chiefs games, you have to root for someone, right? Or in this case, who do you root against?

Personally, I hate both of these teams with a passion so I have to break it down to see who to root against the most.

Tennessee:

- has pornstache Jeff Fisher. This guy once said they have 9 homes games if you include Jacksonville. Hate that guy. Besides, he didn't quit Tennessee so he could come coach the Chiefs. Double-hate. -2 pts

- has a great defense I'm jealous of. -1 pt

- has a great running game I'm jealous of. -1 pt

- One of the luckiest teams in the league. The music City miracle was a debacle and going 13-0 last year with Kerry Collins? Come on! -1 pt

- Play in the same city as Tennessee Volunteers. -1 pt

- Plays Marty-ball and WINS playoff games! -1 pt

Total Tennessee hatred points -7 pts

Pittsburgh:

- have won what? 15 superbowls? Or does it just seem like it? Man I hate that! -2 pts

- Hines Ward is the dirtiest WR in the league. Chop blocks worse than the Broncos OL. I just wanna slap that smile off him. -1 pt

- Big Ben is tom Brady's twin. Both those guys are touched by God. How else do you explain a guy that slams his helmet-less face into a car and then makes that last drive to win the SB? -1 pt

- Pittsburgh's fans are EVERYWHERE and they are OBNOXIOUS! -3 pts

- Troy Polomalu's hair. I laughed so hard when Maurice-Jones Drew tackled him by it! -1 pt

- They get rid of their coach, replace him with a kid and they STILL keep winning. Man I hate that. -1 pt

- has a great defense I'm jealous of. -1 pt

- has a great running game I'm jealous of. -1 pt

Total Pittsburgh hatred points -11 pts

Guess I'm pulling for the Titans. Either that or for both their team buses to collide en route to the stadium.

OnTheWarpath15 09-10-2009 01:24 PM

I don't hate either team. Prefer Pittsburgh to win, if I have to choose.

I appreciate hard-nosed, fundamentally sound football from solid organizations with top-notch coaching.

Glad the season is finally here.

Buck 09-10-2009 01:24 PM

Titans, they always hurt my teams players right before or during the playoffs.

ToxSocks 09-10-2009 01:24 PM

I actually like the Steelers. The Titans are just boring to watch.

DTLB58 09-10-2009 01:25 PM

Really don't hate either team.

Nothing about either one bothers me.

Looking forward to a good hard fought opener tonight.

May the best team win.

Are you ready for some football??? :thumb:

I really just don't care.
I guess if I had to pick I'd prefer the Titans just because I like to see the success spread around.

Anywhere within 500 miles is all the same for Tennessee fans.

keg in kc 09-10-2009 01:28 PM

I like both of them, Titans somewhat less than Steelers.

I don't hate many teams. Denver and Oakland in the AFC. Washington in the NFC.

There's a ton of teams I don't like, though. Baltimore being one of them. Close to hate, but not quite.

loochy 09-10-2009 01:28 PM

I'm a big hater of the Dallas Cowboys. I moved to Texas during the year when they won their first Jimmy Johnson Super Bowl . I just couldn't take the attitude of the teams of the fans. Self proclaiming themselves to be "America's Team" simply infuriated me. Furthermore, I HATE attention whore players such as Michael Irvin, Dieon Sanders, and more recently, T.O. I am happy Tony Romo's little bitch ass has failed and I am not all that impressed with the new stadium (I went there for a soccer game).

SenselessChiefsFan 09-10-2009 01:30 PM

Well, I don't hate either of them, but I hope the Titans win so the Chiefs can have better chance at home field advantage for the playoffs.

Brock 09-10-2009 01:30 PM

Don't really care about either one.

Molitoth 09-10-2009 01:31 PM

I hate all teams that win super bowls. Mainly due to jelousy.

Chiefnj2 09-10-2009 01:34 PM

I don't dislike either.

I really like Hines Ward as a receiver. I love the blocks he throws.

I'm looking forward to watching two good football teams play. Hopefully it will be close.

Buehler445 09-10-2009 01:34 PM

I like the Steelers, but it should be noted that I don't know a single Steeler "fan".

I don't like the Titans much. I'm not big on Martyball, but I don't hate it as much now that Herm is gone and we don't have to listen to press conferences saying that it works. LenDale White annoys the piss out of me for some reason.

On a side note, someone told me this morning that White lost 30 POUNDS in the offseason.

To wrap it up, though, I don't really hate either team. I do like the steelers more.

True enough.

KCUnited 09-10-2009 01:35 PM

Its not Pittsburgh fault that a guy at my work is a huge Steeler, Laker, and Jayhawk basketball fan, but it does prevent me from hoping they win.

MMXcalibur 09-10-2009 01:36 PM

I'd love to see Hines Ward get hit by a bus. Every time he smiles after a play, I want to be the driver of said bus.

Actually, Pitt and Ten are two of my favorite teams, behind the Chiefs.

Frazod 09-10-2009 01:38 PM

I hate the $tealer$, but I like the Titans (at least as much as I can like another AFC team). I was hoping Justin Gage would get a ring last year. Oh well.

BigChiefFan 09-10-2009 01:42 PM

I think the Steelers crush them.

Yes. This.

blaise 09-10-2009 01:52 PM

I'm sick of the Steelers. Ben Roethlesberger seems like a d-bag to me for some reason. Backwards-hat-on-the-sidelines QBs all seem like d-bags, actually: Cutler, Big Ben, and Romo. I don't like any of them.

They do kind of have that "douchy frat-guy vibe" to them.

sedated 09-10-2009 02:14 PM

I absolutely cannot stand the steelers. They were the second worst choke-job artists behind the Chiefs before the NFL handed them the SB against the Seahawks. Plus, everyone thinks big ben is a HOF QB just because he landed on a well-run franchise that gave him 2 rings.

This.

Both of these organizations are what i hope thte Chiefs become eventually.

Especially Pittsburgh because they have a "franchise QB"

Mr. Arrowhead 09-10-2009 02:19 PM

I cant stand Pittsburgh, I always have and always will

Delano 09-10-2009 02:21 PM

I can't find the quote online, but I heard Tomlin on the radio saying something like, 'whichever team is more violent will win.'

I love that!

Sad.. looks like any more I have more in common with the Titan's fans. I have always considered the Titans my second team since they were the Oiler's when I was young. Then I lived in Tennessee for a while, and actually went to a good number of Titan's games. Can't stand Shitsburg.. They are right behind Oakland, and in front of Denver.

BigMeatballDave 09-10-2009 02:30 PM

I live in NE Ohio. I hate the Steelers. Not because of the team, but because of their douchebag fans.

JuicesFlowing 09-10-2009 02:32 PM

I don't hate the Steelers or the Titans. However, I do hate the Broncos, Raiders, and Chargers. Also the Colts, Cowboys, Vikings, and Eagles. Since you asked. :D

L.A. Chieffan 09-10-2009 02:32 PM

puttsburgh should get like a -20 for it's fans. i mean here in la theres probably more steeler fans than any other team. 'what? that doesnt make any sense' you say? well youre right, and this is coming from a a chief fan in la

Yea, when they had that friday night game a couple years ago against the dolpins, i called a couple bars to see if they were showing the game, and i called one in Salina, Kansas, and the lady said "no, this is mainly a Pittsburgh Steelers bar" I about lost it, i mean we are in Kansas, why is there a steelers bar right in the middle of kansas.

DeepPurple 09-10-2009 02:37 PM

I can tell you that in Baltimore the steelers are liked about as much as that oakland team is liked in KC. Unfortunately the job market in pittsburgh is slim and none and many of those inbreeds have moved to Maryland where the job market is much brighter. So every now and then we get the privilege of seeing, just imagine a raider fan wearing a steeler jersey, walking around or if you can believe they can drive cars too.

There are only two teams I hate in all of sports, and that is the yankees and steelers. I'm not a big Titans fan, in fact their fans hate the Ravens fans because we've knocked them out of the playoffs a couple of times, but tonight I'm for the Titans.

The same reason that there is a Broncos bar in Wichita, Kansas. Pretty sick, there aren't even Chiefs bars here that I know of.

that is actually understandable, at least it is semi close, Pittsburgh is thousands of miles away. There are alot of bars in Wichita that show the Chiefs game tho.

i like the steelers, how can you not when an organization is that tight...their fans can die, but the defense is fun to watch...ravens/steelers game are freaking brutal, high quality violence....this should be much like that

and rothleswhatever is the most clutch QB in the game at the moment

SDChiefs 09-10-2009 03:14 PM

I hate the Steelers and don't really give 2 sh*ts about the Titans. Im going Titans.

Spott 09-10-2009 03:45 PM

I've always liked the Steelers ever since I was a little kid and I watched them win Super Bowl's 13 and 14. It's funny that 30 years later I can probably name more starters for the Steelers teams of the 70's than I can for the Chiefs now. Plus they have the best uniforms and their fan base is the exact opposite of the Cowgirls.

I like Fisher, too. He's a damn good coach and seems like a decent guy.

Their fanbase is exactly the same as Dallas'.

Iowanian 09-10-2009 04:35 PM

That's easy.

I had 3 roomates in college in the 90s that were Steeler fans.

Pffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffft.

RJ 09-10-2009 04:42 PM

Definitely hate the Steelers, don't hate the Titans at all. I don't like the Titans, but I don't hate them. I learned to hate the Steelers back in the 70's and I never unlearned it.

jaa1025 09-10-2009 04:50 PM

Neither--I like Pittsburgh and am jealous of the way that team has been run. I don't like or dislike the Titans. They are there.

The teams I hate:
Broncos
Raiders
Cowboys--Mainly because everyone around me growing up was a wannabe 'Boyz fan and it annoyed me. I do have a brocrush on Terrance Newman (KSU) and would LOVE to see Ware in Red and Gold.

Jets are working their way on my hate list because of Mangini though. I hate that arrogant prick. They've done nothing relevant since the Tuna was there and act like they are all world. Oh...and they gave us Herm. Asshats!

Sanka 09-10-2009 04:59 PM

I live in PA, so Shittsburgh

Pitt Gorilla 09-10-2009 08:12 PM

I really respect both teams. Pittsburgh changes coaches, linebackers, D-linemen, running backs, etc. and never misses a beat. They are always well-coached and defensively minded.

It seems that the Titans are always losing their top free agents due to other teams throwing them a bunch of money. Tennessee then goes on to draft poorly in the first round and STILL looks decent every year. They, too, are well-coached and defensive minded.

I would LOVE for the Chiefs to be Steeler or Titan-like.

Basileus777 09-10-2009 08:13 PM

Why would anyone hate the Titans?

Eh, I should have read the responses first. This is essentially what I was saying.

TEX 09-10-2009 08:21 PM

I don't hate either - they're both good. However, when the Titans were the Oilers, I HATED the Steelers. The Oilers had some darn good teams coached by Bum Phillips during the Luv Ya Blue Era with Earl Campbell, but the Steelers were always a bit better and I HATED them for it...

ChiefsChick 09-11-2009 08:16 AM

Tennessee

gblowfish 09-11-2009 08:55 AM

I don't hate either team. I envy them both.
Hatred is reserved for the Donks and Faiders.

ChiefGator 09-11-2009 09:07 AM

Like several others, the Oilers (and Warren Moon) made me a Titan fan I guess. The Steelers, I stilll don't hate for some reason.
