How come Chiefsplanet is the only address my computer will recognize right now
 

All of a sudden in the last hour, the only place that my computer recognizes is this place. It gives me a DNS error for all other sites.

Time Warner's DNS servers are down...again. This happens quite a bit with them. Switch to OpenDNS servers and you'll be fine again...

You can try switching back to TW's if you want later when they get their stuff fixed.

Chances are your DNS servers are toast and you just happened to be on the Planet when they went down, so the Planet's IP is cached on your PC.

You're speaking greek to most people....I don't think half the people on here know how to configure it manually.

I can access the 'Planet but nothing else.

Guess I had it open on another tab.

Thanks guys.....I am a TW customer so that explains it.

Now I think I will just retire for the night and let TW fix their issue.

go into your network connections and right click on the network adapter that you're using to connect to the internet and go to properties. Then select IPv4. Then switch from Automatic DNS to Manual and specify the IP's yourself to override TW's DNS.

The IP's are

208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

I actually just about posted a screenshot too but that's not going to show up either.

For some reason, your link worked for me, when others wouldn't.

In any case, the problem seems to be fixed now.
