Croyle haters, eat up

All of you were wrong.

Mother****er can flat out BALL.

JuicesFlowing 09-13-2009 02:31 PM

Is that crow or Raven? Croyle balled up. Too bad he didn't have time to throw.

LaChapelle 09-13-2009 02:31 PM

He has trade value now. Don't know how much. But is trade worthy.

kysirsoze 09-13-2009 02:31 PM

Pretty impressive day, all things considered. I'd take a larger helping if he had even started to put a game winning drive together. The fumble was bad but the fact that it was right of the bat was pretty embarrassing.

Micjones 09-13-2009 02:32 PM

Croyle played well today. I take my hat off to him.

BigChiefFan 09-13-2009 02:32 PM

FUMBLE...TD RAVENS.

He played pretty well, but certainly not lights out. He ran the offense like it was a WCO, dinking and dunking, with very few plays for yardage.

KCChiefsMan 09-13-2009 02:32 PM

he played a great game

Bane 09-13-2009 02:32 PM

He did better than I thought so ok.....Good job professional Qb who has been getting paid to sit on the bench.....This buds to you.

MMXcalibur 09-13-2009 02:32 PM

Er, no. He had one nice drive and connected on a nice pass play with Bradley. Other than that, I wasn't impressed to the point that I'm going to eat crow (or raven...or whatever that is...)

Deberg_1990 09-13-2009 02:32 PM

116 QB rating today.

kysirsoze 09-13-2009 02:33 PM

Oh, and I'm still pretty excited to see what the offense looks like with Cassel.

JuicesFlowing 09-13-2009 02:33 PM

Croyle isn't as brittle as people think. I know its a great joke on the Planet though. I just think he fits better in Haley's offense. What the **** did Herm know?

How many people said he sucks?

Most people say he can't stay healthy. And 1 game without injury isn't exactly proving anybody wrong there.

RINGLEADER 09-13-2009 02:34 PM

Only criticism you can have is the slow start and a couple of mis-communications with the center.

Because he stayed healthy for one game?

He's still brittle as hell. I like him as a QB, but c'mon now.

MichaelH 09-13-2009 02:35 PM

I'd be more favorable of Croyle's performance if he'd just post a few naked pictures of his wife.

Iowanian 09-13-2009 02:36 PM

He played alright, but he choked on the final drive.

Sweet Daddy Hate 09-13-2009 02:36 PM

This would be Epic Win for Croyle were it not for his ABSOLUTELY boneheaded performance at the end.

Still, he did better than I ever thought he would.

wild1 09-13-2009 02:37 PM

He played pretty well, except when the game was on the line.

It helps that Herm isn't the coach anymore, that will make everyone better

LaChapelle 09-13-2009 02:37 PM

I'd like to see him play behind a decent O line.

Larry Johnson = Fail

TrickyNicky 09-13-2009 02:40 PM

Our line was getting their shit pushed in all day. Even Albert. Hopefully he hasn't peaked yet.

He's stayed healthy for other games too. I'm not Dr. House. And I'm not a Croyle apologist. I just think the obvious over-reaction is hilarious. "He'll die on the first pass play!!!" Seriously .... calm down.

Croyle looked like Damon Huard, circa 2006 season.

What's hilarious about it?

Croyle has had 3 starts. And he's suffered from 3 serious injuries that have forced him to miss time. That's one injury for every 3 starts.

Of course everyone is exaggerating when they say Croyle will get injured after only 5 plays. But getting injured once every 3 games is about as bad as it gets for an NFL QB.

(And that's only counting his NFL career. Does not include his injury-riddled college career).

1ChiefsDan 09-13-2009 02:45 PM

So Goatcheese - are you going to start a thread about how bad LJ sucks? 1.8 ypc. He has a long way to go for you to win your bet with buckin bolt boy.

I expect the Ravens to shut him down. We can't block anyone.

Charles wasn't going anywhere, either.

We need to drafte a franchise QB, that's for sure.

Since when have we succesfully drafted for one? We thought we had one with Todd Blackledge. I loved how he turned out. Oh yeah, we passed on Dan Marino in that draft.

I guess our talent scouts thought he was good because he handed the ball to Curt Warner at Penn State.

Pablo 09-13-2009 02:48 PM

Croyle was a-****in-okay today. He didn't die; and he didn't do too much stupid shit...and he even threw a couple TD's.

Very stoked for the Fade next week with Cassel at the helm.

Dayze 09-13-2009 02:48 PM

with this Oline, i wouldn't trade him. We need as many competent QBs on this roster as we can get.

For better or worse, we just handed out a $60M+ contract for our franchise QB. Too early to tell IMHO. 15 more games to go...

That was a typo. If you read the rest of the post, you'd see that. He's started 9 games and has been injured 3 times. That's a horrible track record for a QB.

Christ, he was 16 for 24, 2 TDs, no picks, and no help

Thigpen would have thrown 3 or 4 picks.

LaChapelle 09-13-2009 03:21 PM

Hasn't played in how long?
Had how many 10ths of a second to make a play?
Didn't leave the game injured against the Ravens D?

One man's "coaching" is another man's "ass chewing".

I thought Croyle did a fine job in a bad situation. I don't know that Cassel could have done much better.

I watched the game, too.

He had no help. Bradley had a chance to get two first downs and extend drives and pussied out.

The line couldn't open holes, couldn't pass block for very long.

Was Croyle perfect? No.

But he was by far one of the best players on the field for the Chiefs.

I don't think Cassel could have done much more out there even if he was 100 percent.

LaChapelle 09-13-2009 03:23 PM

The Thigpen experiment was interesting. Don't know if that was a gadget or proding Brodie to play better.

Hootie 09-13-2009 03:23 PM

what did he do that was impressive? I must know...

We had 60 yards of offense (approx.) through 3 quarters...

He had 1 good drive where Baltimore was playing more "lax" than the rest of the game because they took a lead...

I'm sorry...

Wasn't impressed...at least wasn't impressed enough to think he warranted a thread like this.

Made a nice throw to Bowe for a TD.

Didn't make stupid mistakes.

If the running game and defense had not been ABSOLUTE SHIT, Croyle was good enough to beat the BALTIMORE RAVENS ON THE ROAD.

chuxtrux 09-13-2009 03:26 PM

Thigpen still has more career wins.

wild1 09-13-2009 03:27 PM

Croyle did pretty well considering that Larry Johnson is still inept (11 carries for 20 yards just freaking awful), and we don't have much at receiver, last year's #1 threat is gone, and the offensive line was adequate at best and terrible most of the time.

It has never been a question about Croyle's ability to make throws, it was just his decision making and his durability. He made pretty good decisions today and managed the game well.

Duh.

That was evident on the second play of the game where Larry takes the pitch, looks upfield and is immediately tackled five yards deep in the backfield by Ray Lewis.

Everything starts with the lines. Baltimore has better line play on both sides of the ball.

Given that the game was played at their place on opening day, it's a testament to this team's new found toughness, that we didn't get blown out.

When you want to rebuild a shitty tean, you start with special teams and defense... both showed up today.

It's gonna take some time... but this is a good start.

I would be surprised to see him put up another 1,000 yard season. He's done as a feature back in the NFL. He does not run like he used to. He used to run with power and confidence, now he just stutters and flops.

He used to be hard to tackle, and run angry. Now he just looks like a paycheck player. He doesn't hit holes with purpose and he doesn't shake tacklers, he just goes down.

But the salary is guaranteed this year.

Hootie 09-13-2009 03:33 PM
