honorary lifetime Chiefs
there's bound to be another similar thread, but wtf.
who are the players through the years that you would have as lifetime Chiefs? Not the players like Neil Smith who kinda are, but the guys who played elsewhere first, but really had their run in KC. for me, Priest, and Joe Phillips top the list... |
Marcus Allen
|
Sure wish we'd held on to Joe Horn a few more years...

Mike webster and Marcus allen.

James Hasty, Mark Collins, Dan Saleamua.

Kennison

Ty Law? He wasn't exactly stellar while with us but I woulda liked him in his prime.

He spent all but his last season as a HoF center for the Steelers. When his name comes up in conversation, almost no one outside the most homeristic Chief fan would associate his name to KC. |
Roaf and Rison

Hasty and Collins would be my choices as well.

Marcus Allen was an excellent running back for KC. |
Neil Smith will always be a chief.

I'll go with Len Dawson.
|
Trent Green should probably be on that list. And I want Bennie Thompson written in ink.
|
That running back from Nigeria, but only if he provides autographs ROFL

Nick Lowery. Cut by 11 other teams before being the most consistent kicker we've ever had.

And he hates Al Davis ( http://www.nytimes.com/1992/12/15/sp...-at-davis.html ). I'd say that fits as a "life-long Chief." |

But yes, Bennie was a GOD amongst NFL hitmen on kickoffs and punt coverage.....and regrettably had a tendency for peeing on what had been deemed his territory. |

I'll nominate Willie Lanier because I had lunch with him many years ago in Richmond, VA where #63 was working as a stock broker at the time (perhaps still?). Anyway, besides being one of my favorite Chiefs of all time, Willie was great to talk with, get his opinions of the league and share some common ground as it relates to family and problems which I won't go into. I do recall Willie speaking fondly of the Chief's LB trio at that time of he, Bell, and 'the kid from Notre Dame'. Good stuff. |

Players that played fro more than one team are enshrined, with their career accomplishments for every team they played for noted. He made his name and had his run, his best years, and the largest portion of his career numbers as a Raider. |

I might add Jason Dunn to that list, he was a very valuable run blocker for us
