Maybe after our players get a better feel for the system towards the end of the year we can win a few games? A team this bad learning completely new schemes isn't going to be good right out of the gates.

No, I'm not crying. I call a spade a spade. I've followed this team for 40+ years. I've seen all the Todd Haley's I care to see. (See Jack Steadman.)

The 'Right 53' were not 'smart players' today. They look dumber each game with all the holding calls against the Offense.

Shouldn't one prerequisite for a head coach be play football pass pop warner. I was weary of this hiring when I read he was on the golf team in college. It shows today with that fcker giving up.

I have no idea why people are getting upset. The Chiefs are one of the worst teams in the league and had a pretty "whatever" offseason. It has been obvious for ages that this season was going to be rough. Todd Haley has changed both the offensive and defensive schemes and imported a bunch of players. What else should he be doing? I mean, honestly, what do people expect Haley to do?

There is no link, Jason, because there is no quote.

Just a line in a Whitlock column.

And we all know how honest Whitlock is.

But that won't stop people from believing whatever they want to. After all, the truth gets in the way of a good meltdown.

No link, but the story goes that Waters came in wanting a meeting with Pioli and Haley to discuss the direction of the team. Haley basically put him in his place, and when Waters told him that he was a captain and pro bowler, that's when he let loose with the 22 guys off the street blast, letting Waters know he didn't care what Waters had done in the past. And, that whole confrontaion went down right at the time they were working out the trade for Cassel and Vrabel.

Even today, after the way we have looked through three games, I still love that Haley said that.

Bowser,

I agree that's the reported exchange.

What Jason and others are saying there's only Water's (supposed) statement to Whitlock that the above conversation ever took place.

We know what Fatlock reported.

WE just don't know that Haley ever said it or if Whitlock made it up to make his column "sing".

Seriously.

We knew the team was bad from the start. Knew they'd be over-matched on most days. We're three games into the new regime's time. Settle the F*** down.

I don't know if he said it or not, but I hope he did. Just because things aren't working out yet doesn't redeem the last two years of utter incompetence.

Not to mention if he does pull out two wins this year, he will have practically kept his word.

If any of you are STILL emotionally invested in this team after what you saw in preseason and the first couple games, you need to take a shot of morphine. Every day. It means you're way too ****ing uptight.

You KNEW this team would be bad and you're still bitching? Low expectations and low results. Calm the **** down.

I agree. Some of the shitbags around here right now are making this place mega negative but I have been here for a long time and I'm not gonna let the Debbie Downers run me out of here.

The team is bad, no shit. We knew that going in, yet they have showed up 2 of 3 weeks. Nobody is happy they lost today. Nobody but the haters.

Especially when the coaches and GM have been surrounded by talent elsewhere. It will be interesting to see how Haley responds to losing. It is often said that a team takes on the personality of its head coach. I'm not sure that instilling Haley's personality into our players will get us anything back but a bunch of jerks. Mike Singletary is probably more of the style that we need. Yes, he is a hard case motivator but he made his bones playing the sport and had instant credibility with his players. He's done a great job of instilling his style into his players and winning ball games.

Give Haley the talent and he might prove to be a good HC, but I think he'll implode long before that day comes.

I could be wrong but I think Haley's personality is pretty low on the list of problems for the Chiefs. Assholes can win just like nice guys. All coaches look better surrounded by talent. The question is can he run the team efficiently. He hasn't impressed as of yet, but it's just too early to tell and it will be for some time. This time next year, maybe.

We punt good and lose good and that's it.

We kick good too. Just don't get too many chances.

Seriously.

We knew the team was bad from the start. Knew they'd be over-matched on most days. We're three games into the new regime's time. Settle the F*** down.

Well some of us knew.

I have a buddy that unfortunately just doesn't get it either, has a major meltdown every game and there I sit just not getting emotionally invested anymore as this team is all but starting over..I tried to tell him KC will maybe win 4-5 games but if they can do that and show some improvement it'll be a successful season.
