Bernard Pollard Started Today...

And he played well. He actually tackled, covered, and made timely hits on WR's. Course he was playing against the Raiders so who knows what it meant. Still, if he plays like he did today, the Texans found themselves a starter off the scrap heep...:hmmm:

Good for him. At least he doesn't have to endure the dumbest ****ing D-Coord in the AFC West, and this overall abortion of a team anymore.

God speed BP.

boogblaster 10-04-2009 08:30 PM

Pollard will have a few good games .. he had a few with us ...

OnTheWarpath15 10-04-2009 08:31 PM

Good for him.

Meanwhile, Mike Brown was directly responsible for 2 TD's today, and took a horrible angle on the Nicks TD - among other mistakes.

Awesome.

Mecca 10-04-2009 08:32 PM

Hakeem Nicks got into the endzone with the electic slide move.

You know what? I spoke to him a bit before the game and he basically said the same thing. In fact, he said that Gun wasn't much better because he and Herm were not on the same page about what they wanted the DB's to do. He did not express any ill-will towards the Chiefs, in fact he called his time in KC a "learning experience" and wished the team well. He said that he was just glad to get a fresh start.

cowboysfan 10-04-2009 08:38 PM

Hello,
Friendly Cowboys fan here. I am not here to talk smack. I think your Chiefs just might beat my Cowboys next weekend. We are really reeling now. Let's both of our teams have a well played game next weekend. I am curious to know how Derrick Johnson is playing. I thought he was going to be a super star linebacker for you guys but I live in New York City and don't get to see the Chiefs play.

Welcome CBF. If the Cowboys show up - they'll win the game. The Chiefs are one of the worst teams in the league. DJ has not lived up to his potential, but that could very well be because he has had very poor coaching in KC. He has played ok of late, but still nowhere near where most thought he would be playing at after being in the league 4 seasons. He'll never be a star, and probably won't be back in KC after his contract expires. But the league is littered with LB's who once played in KC so...

I know being a good guy is a poor substitute for overall talent, but I always appreciated the energy and attitude he brought to the team as well as being a solid citizen in the community.

I can imagine that having to develop under Herm and Gun was like being pulled by a taffy machine 24/7, and I wouldn't be surprised if his game improves greatly over the next two years.

Your team has a lot more talent then the Chiefs, hopefully we can play above our expectations and steal a win.

did he even play today? I can't stand watching the Giants but I watched a little of the game hoping to see Johnson play. Is he injured? I followed him when he played at Texas. He was a monster college linebacker quick, fast, hard hitter. Played sideline to sideline.

He was suppose to play but even when he's fine he's on the bench all the time since Haley became the coach.

I went on the Bronco's message board, and they kept on talking smack all week. Their team backed it up though. Bronco's fans might be almost as bad as Giants, Eagles, Redskins.

thanks man,

I think Chiefs/Cowboys share kindred spirit since the late great Lamar Hunt owned both of our teams.

Mecca 10-04-2009 08:55 PM

Well man you shouldn't worry to much...

This team can't defend TE's and since Romo throws it to Witten constantly you should move the ball.

The problem with DJ, despite his natural gifts which allowed him to be a great college player, is that he lacks discipline, and as a result, he is almost always out of position, and teams take advantage of that and run roughshod over us.

Until and unless he learns to play within the scheme and maintain gap responsibility, he'll just be a player with potential who never realizes that potential.

At this point, there's little hope.

Actually, Clint Merckison owned the Cowboys, but there was a lot of interaction between the two involving Landry and Meredith.

There's a link to a History of the Chiefs video here at the board, and it covers that history very nicely.

I am impressed at how most of you guys realize that football is a game and its still early in the season. On the Cowboys board about 75% of fans are quitting on the team already- its ridiculous over there. I think there's a lot of really young fans who live and die for the Cowboys. I am sure there are those people all over the country thats what being a sports fan is about. But over there 1 loss is s amplified infinitessimally.

I might be a little more upset if I thought the team was good and they played poorly, everyone knows the Chiefs are bad so there's really nothing to get upset about.

Its because the Cowboys have hope, there is no hope here its just a sad state of depression.

And I will give the Broncos credit because they do look like a good team right now, but if they should choke this away like they have in the past you should go check their board out when that happens. It will blow up like a nucleur holocaust.

Yep. No way that both the Dallas Texans and Cowboys could have both made it in Dallas at the time. Actually, there was a better chance that the "upstart" from the AFL would have suffered worse than the NFL's Cowboys, even though they were terrible in the beginning.

I really think you will beat my Cowboys. Roy Williams got dinged up. Romo lead him into a vicious hit. Williams said it was the hardest hit he ever took. He might not play. Marion Barber is banged up again and our only home run threat will not play next week. Our WR's dont get open enough we dont have proven speed/deep threat. DeMarcus Ware has yet to get a sack this year. Just stack the box with 8 men and force Romo to beat you. Romo is sooooo worried about throwing INTs he is really out of sync.

It won't matter though, because Clancy will have his corners playing 8 to 10 yards off from the LOS. Just quick slants several times will force him to bring up the corners a few more yards, and then, BAM, hit them with a long one.

Cowboys corners play off 8 yards too. Atleast your corners don't have trouble tackling air.LMAO

I'm still looking for it.

Even if we had a halfway decent one, our offense would have to do something.

Don't worry, cowboysfan. Denver, unfortunately, seems to be better than we gave them credit for this year. We, however, are not.

Take the Interstate to Canton; there you'll find it.

They are doing something.

They figured if we don't have a defense to kill QBs, they's take on that challenge.

Yup, but have you seen the Cowboys' O. Flozell Adams has been fined by NFL for tripping past 2 weeks. Felix Jones almost tripped a Carolina player too and got fined. Andre Gurode was flagged for tripping a Bronco today as well. They're a trip you can say.

Haley was hired so late I can't remember any other coordinators still being available.

You can rail on them for thinking this OL talent was fine.

Those teams records were something like 5-11,5-11,6-10 3 consecutive years. Pendergast is a bad coach.

Oh - I agree, and I was not thrilled with the hire. Yet he is well respected throughout the league. :hmmm:

I'd gladly welcome it if Chiefs would win 3 Super Bowls within the next 4 years like the Cowboys did.

And I understand your use of the word "hilarious" to describe that 1-15 season. I think the current state of the Chiefs is just that. With laughter comes healing...I don't watch the games anymore, I record them and then go back and watch them throughout the course of the week. Provides days of laughter/healing...
